Skuzzy, you can set everyone on probation....
« on: October 18, 2003, 10:05:07 AM »
ROFL...just saw that Grünherz is on probation, too. But back to topic..

Skuzzy,

You have the power to set everyone here in the forum 'on probation'. And that is a lot of power. You decide if someone's opinion can be read or not. You decide if someone's opinion is political correct or not. And you should use that power wise and carefully.
You should use it like a father who is trying to educate his kids. With love and strenght. And give the guys you set on probation the chance to learn from their mistakes.
Our squadmate Trolla is set to probation. Trolla is a good guy. He lives and let live. As long as he is treated the right way.
He dont know why this happened. He got no message why this happened. And the whole Abbeville Kids searched the forum to find the reason for that mess. But none can be found.
Maybe our cultures are so different that its no more possible to understand each others humor? Who knows?

Please, dont act like a dictator.
And give the guys the chance to understand your decision. Send them a PM or short mail and dont let them die stupid.
That would help to keep up the respect to each other.

Thank you
Ecke

PS: Before someone is laughing about my bloody english, he should try to write that in german. :)

You guys act like Ecke said something wrong.  Odd.  I respect someone who is willing to discuss things and show a little decency, respect, and common sense.

Ecke, the language/nationality barrier is a tough one.  I have no idea where most people on this board are from, as they do not put in real information for thier location.
I do not discuss why anyone is put on probation or banned from this board publicly.  It will never happen.  I will discuss it with the individual, but it is up to the individual to make contact about it.

Tell trolla to contact me.

As to why someone would get put on probation or banned.  People that post to create negativity on the board are not welcome.  People who start controversial threads, then abandon them are not welcome.  People that do not know whow to have a discussion without making personal attacks are not welcome.  Shock posts are not welcome.
I could go on and on.  But it is really as simple as remembering this is a discussion board.  Look up the word 'discussion' if you lack the understanding of what it means (not pointing that at you Ecke).
We expect people to discuss topics using a modicum amount of decency, respect, and common sense.

Now,..look through the various threads and see how many do not even come close to fitting that description.  New people won't even come to the board due to the amount of abuse on it.
We are a gaming company, we like to have fun and we want players to have fun as well.  If you do not like a board that is replete with light-hearted discussions that might just make you smile a little, then maybe this board is not a good board for you to visit.

I am closing this thread as there is no really good reason to continue it Ecke, but I appreciate your earnest attempt to understand this situation.
