Tried everythng I can think of to fix my connect problem but?!?!?

Startin to wonder if it's not the AH server vs my modem/connect.

Tonight I logged on and flew for a few minutes then BANG lost connect to Host.

Went right to ping plotter and connected to several locations including AH server no problem.

Rebooted to be sure and tried to reconnect. Got connected but nothing happened. Modem activity was high but never got roster or anything else, and then BANG lost connect... Tried pingplotter and no problem pingin anything including AH main arena .... tried to connect again same thing connect to arena but nothing happened and then BANG lost connect .... so tried one more time same thing.

I now stand unable to enter the main arena?????

Does not mean there is not a problem with the Internet connection. If the ping plots look good, then it could be a million other things software related.
Heck, it could be an installation of some application that replaced a system file causing it.
The only interaction with your modem connection is over at the first hop of your ISP. After that it is all Internet TCP/UDP packets.

It could be the phone company causing it as well. If your modem decides to retrain, it will cause a disco. Modems can do this several times, depending on the quality of the line connection.
This one is actually easy to test. Cap your modem connection spped to 33.6K. This changes the protocol of the physical connection and should reduce/eliminate retrains.

That was kinda what I was tryin to say Skuzzy. Just wasn't real sure how to say it.

Still have the wierd connect thing. Thinkin my copy of AH may have some how gotten corrupted ot something. Hmmmm hey if AH CTD's can it corrupt the AH communication portion of AH??

Ya see right now I can connect to the Arena but it kinda stops right there. Got allot of modem activity but it doesn't seem to want to download the roster or alow me to type into radio buffer. I managed to get the roster downloaded. Not sure how I did it but.... then could move to a base then it kinda locked up. Could not do anything else. Earlier on AH CTD'd and hmmmmm....

So removin and reinstalling AH and see what happens.

It is possible for the AH settings folder to get corrupted, which could cause some wierd things. Easy to test. Move the "settings" folder to another name, then connect to the MA and see what happens. NOTE: Your login and password are in the "login.cfg" file in the settings folder.

The communication link is really handled by Windows. All we can do is ask for something and hope Windows will handle it.

Hmmm just removed and reinstalled AH and connect seems really good?????? Thinkin somethin got tweaked on a CTD ??????

Didn't even stutter !?!?! No loss of UDP almost right away????

Is there some file not in the settings folder that can become corrupted during a CTD?

Cause recoppied entire settings from backup after reinstall and everything seems to be working fine?????
