Best stick/rudder setup for AH ???

I'm going to Denver today to buy new controllers...have PIII w/USB.

Any suggestions ?

I'm happy with the CH USB stuff:  Pro Throttle, F-16 Combatstick, and Pro Pedals.  YMMV.

I just updated a largely analog CH rig (with my thrustmaster pedals finally dieing out)to a full USB setup (pro throttle, F-16 Combat, Pro Pedals) and it works great. The setup software for the throttle is a bit off in what is really a Beta version (It all works, but you have to shift the settings on the software interface to get the same settings on the faceplate hats -- no biggie, and I'm sure it will be corrected later).

The new throttle, with its three maps that are changable on the fly is great. You can have one setup mapped for bomber needs, one for fighters, etc and change them as needed whil playing.

I just recently acquired the Saitek X36 System (with X35 throttle) and have to say I really am pleased.  ALthough I have not used any of the CH or TM stuff, this system feels great.  I have CH pedals on the way, so cannot really comment on those.  

The Saitek setup is very nice, and very nicely priced.  If you look around, you can get the setup for $80 or so - maybe even cheaper on ebay.  The stick has relatively heavy springs, heavier than CH from what I hear, but not as heavy as the TM F22-Pro.  

If you have any specific questions, give me a shout - I'm in the MA quite a bit lately!

I'm leaning towards CH pedals and Saitek...

what about throttle?  does the above setup have a decent throttle..
and buttons? many I assume ?

I've been usint the TM w/pedals and throttle for a loooong time.  REady to move to the 8-way hat instead of the 4-way.

Saitek USB here, add Exiles Ch PRo Rudders ($50? fool!) your in biznus.

The rockers on the Saitek act as my flaps, the Ch Pro Pedals are full realistic rudder, PLUS toe brakes.

Only squeak is I have to assign the controller ID's on WinDOZ reboot.

Good analysis on the springs, right in between a F22 Pro and the sloppy CH (don't get me wrong, you learn to adjust regardless of how tight, loose it is..oh, we're talking sticks!)

Refurbed X36 combo (with stick and throttle) will set ya back $39.00.  CH Throttle and JS will set ya back about $175.

I've used about 15 different sticks in 10 years or so, all TM models, CH models, and just starting to dip into the Saitek systems last year..
