Anything special going on in the area this weekend? I'll be in Tacoma Friday-Monday. Anyone know if the Me262 project is open to visitors on the weekends?

its near everett boeing plant which is north of seattle .

Q:  Are visitors permitted inside the production facility at Paine Field?

A:  Generally, yes. Workload permitting, guests are welcome to stop by.  We would ask, however, that any aspiring visitors contact the facility before making long-distance travel plans.  This way we can insure that someone is always available to serve as an escort.  You may CONTACT US via our on-site liaison, Mr. Jim Byron, to arrange a visit at any time.

you can contact them thru the stormbirds site  here ya go .

Raub, email me at home:
ripsnort60@comcast.net

I've got alot going on Friday and Sunday, and work Monday..but I have Sat. available.

I'll try to set something up with the ME262 project on Saturday (you have to call ahead to get tours but I'm not sure they're open on Saturday.)  If not, how about the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field?  I can pick you up but I garantee I'll make you grab the "Oh SHIITT" handle in my car at least once. :)

I'll get back with you tonight or tomorrow.

Raub, you're in luck!  Just happens that a friend will be there Saturday for the filming of a special event. Get ahold of me!  This is something not to miss.

Thats my guess! I hope I'm right...

According to one of my neighbors (Alaska airlines pilot who was up there with his sons 2 months ago) they had that repaired relatively fast.   There was some structural damage but they just cannibalized one of the Number 3 and Number 4 since there were not any buyers for those frames *yet*.

Yea, Me262 is nice...pricey..love to have one...the community here has a large, vocal Jewish community and I can only imagine their thoughts if one of those came and made a home here.
