Don't be so quick to dismiss it. I caught a few episodes of the first "Surreal Life" and got hooked. There were a few episodes that stand out in my memory as being some good television:
(a) Vince Neil's epiphany with God under the guidance of MC Hammer, coming to grips with the death of his young son;
(b) MC Hammer and Emmanual Lewis dancing and singing with some rough looking types in a fast food joint;
(c) the houseguests trying to find a decent guy for a date with Brande Roderick (former Baywatch: Hawaii star and Playboy model), showing it really is hard for hot-looking babes to find a guy who isn't intimidated by them;
and for comedic value alone:
(d) Corey Feldman trying to play softball and failing miserably.
I think this go-round you'll see the best television coming not from Ron Jeremy/Tammy Faye but rather Vanilla Ice and Traci Bingham. If ever there were a couple of one-hit wonders, it's those two. This will be their chance to get some limelight so I look for them to do whatever it takes to get air time. I picture Erik Estrada as being the moderator of the group, helping to resolve disputes that come up.
Not sure how Trishelle will fit in the picture, maybe as a follower for Tammy Faye's beliefs, or a nemesis to her. Either way, she and Traci will be eye candy sure to pump up the ratings if there's a hot tub involved.
