Yes they are stupid becuase they acted in a illogical manner.
It goes beyond stupidity to needlessly kill people and then kill you're self.
It serves no purpose !
And besides being morally wrong what did it do?

Show a country how weak our system is on gun owner ship.

Look I am PRO gun I love guns.
In fact I am saving up for a windrunner 50cal.
About 8k.

But there must be a better way to prevent people like these to sick young men to obtain all those weapons and all that ammo.

For crying out loud I have no problem getting a licence to have a gun .
Crap you got to have a licence to drive a care why not one to own and operate a firearm.

I am not for taking away anyones right to bear arms not at all.
But we need a better system than we had in the 1700s

 "Idiot" is a pretty specific term that reflects a person's inability for complex mental activity.

 Those young men conceived a plan, trained for it, obtained tools and implemented it with nary a hitch. They may be bad, deranged, evil, etc. but hardly uncapable or even incompetent.

 Just because a person does not act the way you would like, it does not mean he is stupid, just that he may have very different goal.

The states are full of teenagers with guns and idiots and depressed losers but school shootings are rare.   If the teachers were allowed to carry firearms concealed there would be NO school shooting to speak of... so what's the deal here....  you allow and expect a brave teacher to cover your kidds body with theirs and die but you don't trust em with a concealed carry permit?

 Being "stupid" and "acting in an illogical manner" means using wrong means to achieve a set goal. I do not know exactly which goal they tried to achieve, but if it was to kill several people, commit suicide and gain enormous posthumous publicity, I say they succeded.

 No purpose that you or I can understand. So what? I see no purpose in watching a sports game but tens of millions of my countryman do it every day.

But there must be a better way to prevent people like these to sick young men to obtain all those weapons and all that ammo.

 There is no way possible to completely prevent people like these - who have not commited any crime previously - from doing what they did, short of a police-state with curfew, total surveilance and buddy system. Even then a determined killer would be able to wreak havoc before being stopped. People are dangerous sometimes, that is just the fact of nature.

 A natural way would be to allow and encourage any adult to be armed, especially those entrusted with children. Something like that would have been handled quite differently if it happened in an Israeli school.

I am not for taking away anyones right to bear arms not at all.

 I am not arguing anti-gun. I have an assault rifle in my bedroom closet. I was just correcting your misapprehension about those killers.

Miko is correct...  all freedom comes at a price.   The current gun laws in this country are too high a price for the returns... in fact.. in the case of no teachers having guns... they have a negative effect.

We need to look at our gun laws like men not hissy fit little women and decide what laws are causing problems and how much freedom we are willing to live without.   I have no interest in mountain climbing or bicycling... even if the liberal media started a smear campaign against these activities I would not vote to outlaw them... I don't do these activities now but someday I might or... my kids might want too... or my neighbor.

we have too many gun laws not too few.   We have too few training programs and too few ranges near cities... we have too many men voting like women.   Thes are the real problems once you strip away the womanly panic and socialism.

It looked like there were 4 distinct individuals in those videos:

(a) guy in long black trench coat;

(b) guy with baseball capped turned backwards, who later puts on a long black trench coat for the last video;

(c) a guy with long hair pulled into a pony tail; and

(d) a girl with ear muffs.

I'm assuming the two guys in the long black trench coats were Klebold and Harris?

And a couple of them got pinched by the slider on the handgun.

Not to mention their ears were ringing for days.   With more organized gun safety classes and ranges these guys would be laughed at..  being laughed at woulda burst their bubble and  the whole thing woulda never happened..

If they knew that real men (or women)with real firearms and real firearms trainning would be at that school instead of a bunch of sheep in a pen... it woulda never happened.

Come on lazs, you're overreacting here. Women (as a group) have a valid perspective and definitely bring balance to a society. Of course I'm generalizing as were you which is usually not a smart thing to do.

Didn't know the .50 BMG was outlawed in CA. Glad I moved away then. I was always under the impression that california laws were built around the pistol grip/high capacity issues for rifles and high-capacity issues for all handguns. While living there I was still able to assemble a very nice mini 14 (not unlike the kind featured in the idiot video) with the help of the internet and some friends from Virginia who didn't mind receiving high-capacity magazines a flding stock in the mail. I took this gun to LAX gun range in Englewood quite regularly, fired it in the company of off-duty police officers and never received so much as a dirty look from any of them. I decided on selling the gun back to the store before leaving(original parts only).

Needless to say, if I ever came across an orgy of cordite such as the one orchastrated by Mr. Klebold and Harris, I would have been running in the opposite direction and then (hopefully) driving at top speed.

Concerning the 2nd amendment, I'd have to agree. It's an outdated law that puts weapons into far too many hands. For responsible users, not to mention the public at large, the burden of the armed idiot has become too heavy. At the risk of sounding inappropriate, I'd like to say that it might be better for all of us if certain people, after failing their background checks, are issued equivalent weight in marijuana to smoke instead of weapons or ammunition. At least that way they're demotived to fullfill their ambitions as far as pulling the trigger goes. Some would opt for the weed anyway.

 Every time I go to the range, there is always a few dopes there that make me want to puke or laugh.
 He takes an AR-15 and cuts the barrel to "sexy" 11 inches. So that it is totally ineffective beyong 30 yards and even at that distance the bullet drop is huge. Than he gets back withing legal barrel length by soldering a 5-inch muzzle break - for a puny 5.56 round that leaves the barrel at half the speed!
 So he has a light, maneuvrable "entry weapon" - being an overweight accountant, without SF training, grenades and other stuff that make CQB possible.

 Then he installs a BIPOD (to make it heftier?) on it and an $800 4x combat SCOPE - making sure that a weapon that does not shoot even medium distance is also unusable in a close fight - because he cannot see a thing through the scope due to narrow field of vision!

 Of course he is fully versed in all technical matters, tactics, specks, etc.

 Realistically, lazs - half the people on the range are wimps and buffoons, more interested in accessorising than shooting straight.

 It is not generalising but a fact that women's decisons are based much more on emotions that man's. Not totally but more.

 Women truly did bring balance to a society by working out a balanced family policy that a husband expressed in his vote. After women were granted the right to vote, stopped being merried and got convinced by some politicians that they have separate interests from those of men, the effect is just an extra division and hostility in amercian society.

Of course they'd be laughed at on a range, but the fact is they knew which end the bullets come out of and not to point that end at their faces.

They didn't want to look pretty, they just wanted to get the job done. They knew what they were doing, and that's the scary part. It was obvious they weren't well versed in guns, as it said one of the boys had a bloody hand from a sawed-off side-by-side 12 guage.

miko... we go to different ranges... 11" riflle barrels are illegal in every state.   It is a federal law.   16" is the limit.   After that it is a handgun and must be registered as such.  The paperwork would be enormous.   I shoot handguns at 100 yards... I could hit better with a scoped rifle but.... allow me to have my little challenges.   try to be a little more tolerant of others ideas.

Most guys at the ranges I go to are nice guys and either very knowledgeable or ... new and grateful for any instruction offered.

sure... these guys may have been planning on dying but is that any reason to finnish your days with ears that are ringing?   or the sawed of shotgun?   pretty useless compared to many other firearms that coulda been used.... bloody hands?   all neophite problems... these guys were buffoons.    They knew little or nothing about  guns.

If they really just wanted to kill a bunch of people it woulda been much more efficient to poison the water or set pipe bombs to go off at the right time or.....

they coulda stole a tractor and trailer and simply run down about 50-100 kids right at the bell.

but somehow... I get the impression that some of you feel this whole thing is the fault of the firearms, or, more correctly, the bullets.   Even worse... some of you seem to feel that is the fault of certain types of firearms compared to others that is causing the problem.    

Perhaps NO GUNS allowed at school is not a strict enough law for you?   If the kids didn't have hands they couldn't have shot anyone so perhaps a no hand law would work?
