Oh it will be reliable, well built, and will work like a charm. This is CH we are talking about.
My Flight Sim Yoke (same one in that image next to the quadrant), which sports very similar construction to what I see in those prototype images, works like a champ in AH. The construction is top notch solid.
I actually use it on Aces High to fly the P-38L, it has three levers, I assigned one to each engine manifold, and the other to control both RPM's. Works like a champ, and I have no problem dogfighting and kicking ass.
My only beef is that the levers are hard to reach on the middle of the action.
Anyways, the yoke is an impressive piece of hardware. I dont see why the quadrant should cost 150% more for a device that is less functional and seems less complicated to build. Maybe they will not build many, so they need to make a big profit.
