I logged on to Aces High for a few moments when I saw a call on the text buffer "Need gunner, am going after the enemy cv". I quickly did a .join and soon found myself on one of Jayco1's B26s.
He was climbing out to sea, but the bombers were awful shakey for some reason. "Hey Jayco, we got an FW190 on our 6" I type. No response. "Hey Jayco, stop turning so I can aim at this 190". Well, my captain must not have liked me so he goes into a turning climb. "Alright, here goes nothing!" I say and open up on the 190 with at least twelve .50 caliber machine guns. The 190a8 hits one of the bombers in the engines, which begins leaking oil. But seconds later the Fw190 spins out of control due to losing a wing.
Jayco finally responds "Please say again".
My fearless pilot suddenly stops his violent serpentine maneuvers as we are almost on top of the enemy fleet. Altitude is about 6000 feet. 3 seconds after being straight and level, he drops all of his bombs. "Whoa, that was a fast calibration" I think to myself. All the bombs fall short and in front of the carrier, by about 2 miles. "Hmmmmmm". Well apparently this made the fleet gunners made because they open up on us with everything from 20mm to 5inch guns. We lose 2 bombers and Jayco resumes his serpentine maneuvers.
So now we are approaching our base. Some enemy aircraft are setting us up for head on passes. I dont even bother to tell my pilot. RATATATATATAT I fire on both the F4U and Typhoon that HO us. They fly away to fight another day.
Now heres the good part- Our airfield is on top of a 3000-5000 foot plateu. Jayco comes in at about 2800 feet. Hes coming in right above stall speed too lol. I hear the landing gear coming down, as the wall of the plateu fills the windscreen. "Come on jayco, get us some altitude". The gear comes back up as he raises the bombers nose. Then the gear comes back down. So here we are, gear down, full throttle, in about a 80 degree climb at 100mph. The left wing stalls and the bomber slams down on the cliff, killing both engines, and we BOUNCE over the ledge and onto the runway! *You have landed sucessfully*
