Ripsnort ,Raubvogel,Roscoroo and the little Rips invaded the Stormbirds Me-262 hanger today ..(sorry Rips bird didn't make the trip)

Yep, the one you're looking at is the one that crashed this past year. It is almost totally repaired.

where did these guys purchase an actual 262?

Don't tell me that they are going to fly this 262?

Did they installed original engines?
If yes I'd suggest to put ejection seat to this plane because half of all 262 looses was on engines failture, or explotion.

They're replicas with same engines Learjet has.

They got a hold of 95% of the me blueprints , along with having several actual original builders of the plane to collaberate.
AT this point they received orders for two planes .
plus they got honor of restoring the navy's me262 .
They then hand built the planes , and utilized the local machine shops for the other parts they needed.

The Navy 262 still has the jumo's in it as for its all original.

the 5 planes that they have been building are using J-85's which is a 30+ year old basic jet engine with a great reliability record.

Meshermitt even assigned them plane #'s that follow the originals

The Guys even though they busy with the magazine photo shoot took the time out to anser our questions ,and let us crawl all over the planes . Big ~~to them.~~

Well we finally got the orginial back at Willow Grove. It's now in a new display building that should open soon. There are also many fine and rare warbirds on display outside. If you're ever in the area it's located at Willow Grove NAS on route 611, four miles north of the Willow Grove interchange on the Pennsylvania Trunpike.
