Agreed it would be nice if it was possible to have no icons particularly in events; however, this and shorter icons have been requested many times in the past without success.  One feature I noticed in the Setup tools though is the large amount of fog settings - they could make things more interesting with visibility, I think.  :)

Yeah ... waste of time saving screens, editing, uploading, fixing the addyfilter for remote hosting. Next time I'll let everyone else do my "dirty work." ;)

Actually, no I didnt.  :)  I just let the full roster download before taking the screen shot........which is why we've got different numbers of players shown as in the arena.  

BTW, this thread is going waaaaay off topic.  :aok

The problem with this one is that you're playing on a computer monitor, instead of looking at a plane in real life --at around d4.0 or d5.0, those five pixels could be nearly anything.  As a modern equivalent, professional racecar drivers claim it's more difficult to play on the PS2 than it is to actually drive the car:  the pixel resolution is so small, it's difficult to determine exactly where and what things are at a glance.  Don't get me wrong, in a perfect world, I agree that I'd have to identify that plane as a spit V instead of a spit IX by eyesight.  And I suppose I support giving the CMs more control over the icon display properties, however, I think it will turn out that the events with no icons, or very short-ranged icons, will be a lot less popular.  Sucks to enter a merge with a group of 109s that you were hoping might be 190s.

Lakes above sea level would be a great new addition, though I suspect it would take a huge rewrite so I don't expect to see it any time soon.

Old Beefy one,

At first I thought,  we dont need that,  then I read the part about music with bar sounds,  and I really liked it!    have that sound on a level slider so you can have it soft or loud as you like.     Think of the Fun HTC could have making the brawl noises.   ;)

Also,  When I get too old to fly anymore,  I could just hang out in the Mess Hall and chat and tell stories of the old days.   "Sonny,  I remember that time I got HiTech, Fester and Shane eight times in one hop... I was in my trusty P51 Spitfire....."   lol

Maybe when you click Mess Hall it takes everyone to a building at HQ?

Bomber Contrails

saw on DW the other day an interview of B17 gunners who stated they had fighters sneak in close by flying the contrails in

have to be a thick/large contrail to hide the glowing icon - cloud material - guess that'd hit the fps
