When did talking smack on 200 (without profanity) become a muteable offense? If that was the case, Just about everyone here should be muted. I don’t appreciate being muted (without warning) for this.
I admit my reaction to this muting was not good and I accept that. But, if you’re going to give players MOD, make sure they have thick enough skin to understand that they cannot mute people because their feelings are hurt.

The mods are trigger happy and far from equitable in their muting. I basically have nothing but contempt for them at this point.

No. That’s exactly opposite the point. Someone else muted me because their feelings got hurt. If you’re going to be a MOD, you need to be able to put yourself in check. If you can’t, you have no business being a MOD. There was no cursing, no political undertones, no personal attacks, absolutely nothing.
I’m here because I think it’s an abuse of their “position” and, if its not, then I need to know. And the player base evidently needs to know too. If it’s not OK to talk smack on 200 then there’s a systemic problem with MODs not doing their job or playing favorites.
Yes and still embarrassed himself with a rage post.
Not a rage post to ask a question. I legitimately want to know if it’s NOT alright to tell another player they suck. Especially when they suck. Seen you say similar on 200 more times than I can count.

You have no right to tell another player they suck. And you do it often. Some players have even mentioned that to you. Sometimes you even go on for a while against the same player. Mostly what they do to you, being it a ho shot or some other manouver you don't approve of.
Really hate to tell you but, you need to grow a thicker skin.
I hardly get pms except for people that ask me to help somewhere, I get those daily. I get teased a bit sometimes but it's by people that know me and know how I fight or my lack of skill. We laugh about it.
But I see you when I play and more often than not, it's the same thing over and over.

A mod once told me to stop calling people names after I was the one who had been called one--he blamed me for what the other person said. When I explained the error politely I got muted while the name-caller blathered on. This is not an isolated case. They do this enough to exceed nuisance-level.

Just to be clear, in the example above I was called a name. I did not respond in kind. I wound up muted for pointing out it was the other player who said it not me. He was not chastised despite continuing the insults. I don't see that as justifiable.

Reputation is not relevant in impartial application of the rules, sir. Someone should never be muted when unilaterally called a name.
Reputation has a lot to do with the rules. Just look how any sentencing takes priors into account. So yes people who have been muted previously and continually push the line will receive a lot less slack.

Any calling out of a mod deserves a mute,it's a tough job even when you dont have to deal with ingrates. I find it humorous,as almost every play says they did no wrong,well at least in their mind.
I once got a warning,I told a player it was a nice shot but my fingers hit the "I" instead of the "O"..... yup deserved that warning even if it was a mistyped mistake..... :o

Sadly true Puma. Few stand up for their faults.
More so for those that think they are the bull in the china store.
We had a welder test some time back. He came in telling us how good he was and all he had done..... oh and how good he was. Yes he made sure to tell us how good he was. We let him do some corner to corner on 1/4" carbon steel. He did fine. He did a couple of butt welds on 3/16". Did fine again. Put some 14 ga aluminum in front of him and it was popping and burning through. He said he would have to practice on that a bit.
We brought over one of our guys who laid down a beautiful tig on the aluminum. The welder said that was nice.... at which point we told him the guy that just did that was the 650 ton press break operator. :D
Needless to say we tested around 50 applicants just to find one who had a good enough hand to train.

Then he was trying to be honest when he told the guy how much he sucks. “The Man” muted him because vegans are a thing now, so Lilmak threatened to snitch to HT. The moderator panicked and muted Lilamk even harder so he could not tell HT. Lilmak then did the only sensible thing and brought this purse fight to the forum for the entertainment of a wider audience. I was entertained :aok

I triggered an automute response last night, it comes in the form of a popup window so that part's working. I have no idea what a mod generated mute warning would look like. It sounds like it uses a different system.

No I got muted for your original presumption. If you’ll note. I got muted twice. The first was a 10 minute mute that I missed any warning for. And presumably for continuing the conversation as you suspected. You had it exactly correct.
The final mute was retaliation for being muted. I expected that one.

And the logs say the final mute was for insulting the mod, which if you had insulted any other player the same way, you would have gotten muted as well, it wasn't retaliation.

Because the stupid pop up defaults to highlighting the OK button and while you're typing and press the space bar the window disappears. If you're not looking right at it you won't see it, and if you do it's for a tenth meza second.

If you are typing, I don't think pressing the space bar gets rid of the pop-up.
And since he's a long time player he probably had message default to the text buffer making a warning the only pop-up. You don't have to read it to know it's a warning. Besides his sa is pretty good, so I don't buy your explanation. Specially since he got caught lying about his mute to begin with.

Yes, it does. Happens to me all the time. It absolutely gets rid of the pop up no matter what you THINK.

If you're looking at your message bar or keyboard you may not see the pop-up in the fraction of a second it's there.
You sure make a habit of calling people liars.
His description is not only plausible it's something I've personally experienced.

Absolutely nothing in my original post was a lie. I didn’t see a warning and never acknowledged a warning. The only thing up for debate is whether a clinical term is a curse word. Which it is not in my opinion. (Also not caught by the message board filter) So conversation continued with no expletives whatsoever and then I got muted. So from my point of view, and I still stand by this, I was muted for simply saying I was better than another player.
After my 10 minute time out, I called the mod out and I knew what the result would be. At no point did I lie about anything.

Up to the last sentence there is only one word which constitutes a curse word. And that’s the clinically acceptable word.
But just so you know. This is the order of events...
First sentence. Contains clinical language. And I’m, presumably warned. I don’t see it. Don’t acknowledge it. And then the conversation continued.
Next FOUR sentences there is nothing mutable in them. Absolutely nothing. Not one single word. AND THEN I got muted.
Last sentence is a tirade for being muted for the FOUR sentences with zero justifiable reason.
To sum up...warning (I didn’t see), no abuse after warning (I didn’t see), then mute (seen and acknowledged). Then tirade and long deserved mute. (Seen and acknowledged)

The way I see it it is totally a context mute (berating another player)... however as has been stated earlier... there is some real discrepancies when it comes to this type of mute... sure there are those who have tightened the noose on themselves for sure ... however there are way worse comments/abuses on a daily basis that don't get stopped. and most here have been involved in said text abuses in the past... perhaps there was a report caused by hurt feelings???
and the second mute which is not disputed is standard.... you pull a gun on a cop....

Yeah that's right...Lil Mak doesn't have a problem with that one.... he knew that was going to be a foregone conclusion.... the questionable one... not questionable as such... more the one that causes confusion, is the first part of the exchange mute.... to me, from the many 200 smack attacks I've seen, was pretty soft...

I was watching 200 last night, and mostly it was all that was going on over 200. "I'm better than you." "You must be gay." That sort of thing. Really? Aren't most of us older than 12 or 13?

You can try and tap dance all you want to make it like you were warned or muted incorrectly, the logs clearly show the warnings and mute were justified.
Sometimes you need to take responsibility for your actions instead of trying to excuse your bad behavior.

You can try and tap dance all you want to make it like you were warned or muted incorrectly, the logs clearly show the warnings and mute were justified.

Nobody is tap dancing. I take responsibility for my actions and expect others to do the same. I’ve owned everything I’ve typed in this thread and still do.

I agree that the muting seems to be very dependent on the mood of the MOD. I've seen mutes for stuff that I thought was pretty mild. So I see a point here.
I've also seen Lilmak belittle players for no apparent reason other then to get his jollies I guess which could be offensive to some. And I also see a point here.

PS: Can you guys quote the rule for those of us that don't know them? 4- Flame baiting, flaming, being abusive, being disrespectful, trolling, spamming or posting to incite or annoy is not allowed. If you cannot make a positive contribution to the thread, then just stay out of it.

Well, here's a mod thing that recently happened to me (granted I didn't get muted over it, but still!).
200 was active, and a mod (I assume) and another player were taunting each other back and forth. Nothing nasty, just normal chest-thumping. I put my two cents in and said "Xxxx, have you been drinking? You're usually more sane."
And instantly got warned for it!
Seriously. 200 is part of the fun of the game (as is cross-country PMs, but we won't go there atm). Mods ARE needed, but if they're going to use their authority to quash something as mild as that, their authority needs to be looked at more closely.

People change, or have bad days, or whatever. The warning came within ten seconds of my post, and no one else would possibly have cared about a post as innocuous as mine, except the person at whom it was aimed. He's got to be the mod.

Your wrong in many ways.The biggest is you give me no respect because I look at every monitoring complaint ever sent to me or posted ,just like I did in this case.I can not think of any complaint that was valid.they ALL have been similar to this. If any mod ever displayed any power Trip attidued they would be gone instantly.In fact people some times request/volunteer to be a mod which almost assures they never will be. HiTech

LOL!!! me a MOD? LOL that is about as funny as it gets. I also got a warning about the same time "molybdenum" did. The "discussion" was one about players hiding in guns and running to ack instead of fighting. With just over 100 players logged in on a Saturday night, and running into so many players either hiding in a gun.... landing 2 kills time after time.... odd how they only switch guns once they have two kills..... or players running to ack instead of fighting it out, it is frustrating that this game has dissolved to this level. Soon it will be 6-10 guys sitting in guns waiting for the last 3 players in the arena to come into range of the ack.
That was all I was pointing out, and seeing as I "pushed" a player who I thought was "hiding" the MOD thought I was getting too worked up and gave me a warning. Of course I was getting worked up! I play this game to fight other players. If I wanted to dodge ack I'd play off line and save my cable bill. Far too many players are "afraid" to die because it will hurt either their score of there reputation. Grow a set and fight me!
This game has always been about fighting in one way or another..... fight in a furball.....hide and seek in a GV... capture bases and win the war, it all revolves around fighting.... and dying. Far too many players worry too much about dying. Lilmak ran into a v... um wuss that couldnt handle dying, I ran into a number of them Saturday night. Too many egos, and not enough players is killing this game a bit faster every day.
I salute the MODs for trying to do a good job even if they are not on all the time, nor are they all on the same page. They do what they can.

Aces High is such an emotionally charged game that it can be easy to lose perspective and get real-life upset over a video game. I'm as guilty of that as anyone. We all need a constant reminder that Aces High is a happy place where people come to have a good time.
Lilmak is a heck of a fighter and a joy to spar with. I'm always glad when our paths cross because I know that I'm in for a fun and challenging dance of death.
It's a recording of the film viewer so no blackouts etc.

And you failed as we were defending a cv. Of course you were not in that fight so you had no idea. There were probably 12 people trying to sink the cv and 6 defending.

One of the rare fights that keeps me coming back Floob. Once these are gone, I will be too. Sadly these fights are being displaced by the type of play that initiated my calling out the squad of players who were the subject of the clinical language.
However, this thread has served a constructive purpose in my opinion. It’s perhaps (I hope) highlighted a potential flaw in the warning system. Had I seen it or what it contained, the whole episode may have ended differently. I may have discontinued my end of the conversation. Or, had I been angry enough to continue, I would’ve accepted my punishment.

Reminds me of the complaints that light bars and sirens aren't noticeable enough unless you pay attention to your driving.
The flaw is in the player who lacks the self-control to behave within the rules. Be in charge of yourself.
Think of muting as the more obvious warning. Like the tickets before you lose your license.

No, not justify. But he did call them names for a reason. It wasn't a random tourettes outburst. :D
Mak is old school. Been here a long time. There used to be a code, follow by many, but not all, that 1v1's were respected and not interfered with. Almost no one plays by that code anymore. The board is full of debates on that subject so there's no need to rehash, but the awesome random 1v1 encounter, for some, is the best thing in the game. It's become rare due to the loss of any respect for 1v1s. I think Mak just missed the good old days, and perhaps...though futile...thought for a brief, anger induced moment, that he could shame them back into the old ways. Alas, it wasn't to be.

:rofl As I was there...for this particular incident, I need to say some things. As I saw it, most of the issue came from some Prior Animosity towards the other Squad/Combatants involved. It was 3 on 3(yes there were other players in area but it was "CONTESTED AIRSPACE". On several of the Sorties against these combatants, Lilmak sir...you lived! Yucca and Johnson never said a word,sir! You know, I have stated it many times...I have the UPMOST respect for you "Ole Time Players". I saw no one picking on you or your guys, full disclosure....The opposing Squad WAS IN TEMPESTS on first engagement! After that...and maybe because it caused some issues with you...next sortie was in C205s. Same result..Yucca and Johnson KIA! I am NOT posting this to gloat...NOT 1 BIT. It was the best action in town, for A LONG TIME! It boiled down to the fact...Opposing squad flew more as a team than 56th did. Thats why I say,your impressions of events may have been prejudiced, from long standing animosities :uhoh Cant speak for all folk involved....but I am fairly certain that they would love for these engagements be more frequent! :salute :rock
