Once again it's time for a party in Dayton!
Same Place as the last 3 years. Here's the Info. PM me here with questions.
This is NOT a KOA Campground or Public Facility. This is Private Land. (Check 2009 Gathering page 10 for pics)
It's called Great Miami Adventures.

Located at 1995 Ross Rd. Tipp City, OH 45371
Sits right on the Great Miami River (Yes, he has Canoe's, Rafts ect. available.
He has plenty of room for several RV's and 4-5 50Amp services for those.
Tents can go just about anywhere you wanna set up.
Indoor Shower and Bathroom for those who just can't use a PortaPotty.
Multiple Fire Rings.
We'll have a Giant 150 Foot Water SlipNSlide setup for entertainment.
Swings into the River (he got a big hole dug out under it)
Fishing if you like (Bring your Pole)
I recommend Life Jackets if your playing in the water. (Some will be available)
Plenty of Tables and Chairs under Pole Tents (Bring your own Chairs if you want comfy)
Of Course there are plenty of Hotel/Motels close by for those not into Camping.
Camping will be 10 dollars a head per night.
Saturday Party goers only will be asked to contribute to the Campground ($10 a head is typical)
(Many bring Food, Beer, prizes, ect.)
This years Dates are July 6th - 8th 2011 (First Weekend in July)
This is basically an all weekend party with Airshow and Wright-Patt Air Museum close by.
Main Party is Saturday Night after the Airshow.
Hope all the past attendees will be coming back, you all really make it a true party (You know who you are)
Please respond with at least a simple Yes or No and total members in party so I can get a head count.

I'll be on site Thursday in my usual spot with my usual stuff, sittin my bellybutton in a chair in the river drinkin a cold one. Anyone coming in from the east coast is welcome to come in Wednesday and crash at my house if you need a layover and want to see some fireworks. It's just a 4 hour drive from here and we can chop outa here about noonish on Thursday. Send me a PM or call me at 216-502-6945 in the evenings.
Plan on making chili maddog, let me know if you need me to bring the crockpot again.
My Jag doesn't hold quite as much as my big bellybutton Chrysler did, but I'm not planning on a passenger this year and trying to get the wife to drive down Saturday.
My tent is big enough to hold at least 2 others with queen size air mattresses. 1 spot may be taken, so just let me know.

I think I am really going to try to go this year. Long drive by myself all the way from upstate my though. Wonder if anyone is passing through I-90 or if I could swing around and pick someone up.

Me, wifey and ferocious man-eater-dog will be back this year....we're still haggling about taking the bikes on a 400 mile one way trip in a single day, or spending a night otw. (Me and the 50 year-old bike are in the 'two-day' camp....)

wont be making it again this year....but it is nice to see that shawk has stepped up to keep the event going that sgy started back in 2006 having everyone at her house and then me and sgy organizing the gathering for future gatherings in dayton. The gathering has always been mine and sgy's pride and joy and we are glad to see that people still enjoy it. we will return again some day and bring our goofy fun events with us once again. i know for myself i really miss organizing it but real life has taken over, my boyfriend is still getting used to me being a "plane nerd" as he calls me....hehe..some day i will bring him down for everyone to meet or maybe have another gathering here in michigan or somewhere else, i really want to take him to reno for the air races, i think he would LOVE it if he would just go. i plan to go to the thunder over michigan and he will be there with me this year. eventually i will turn him into a "plane nerd" too!!muahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! have a safe weekend everyone and dont drink too much *grin* :)

No, I would like to meet ya and enjoy some beers.
There are lots of folks who live on the East Coast who I would like to meet, but going Westward doesn't help. Dayton is roughly the same distance or more in most cases to the East Coast for me. I wouldn't be opposed to heading to DC or Baltimore for an AH get together.
Last year they had the motion simulator... Anybody know if that will come back? That was awesome!

I actually live in WV, but would be willing to drive to Washington PA to get on I-70, normally I take US33 to Columbus and then jump on I-70. But like I said, I would be willing to drive to I-70 to grab a fellow cartoon pilot.

Just walked in the door.......150 miles through West-by-God-Virginia of blinding, sideways rain, water over the hood, puttering in 2nd and 3rd gear

Just made it home and gonna fly for awile before I go to bed.

4 states, 800+ miles, 12 hrs of driving in a chevy voltage!! :rolleyes: I Should have taken the free upgrade from the rental company cause they rented out the last good mid size car on me. they offered me a new dodge charger for mid size price and i said naaaaa that's OK it would cost a little more in gas... What was i thinkin!! :headscratch: or not more like it.. :bhead :bhead
Had a great time anyways meeting all of you and will be looking for next years post to see if the dates and finaces will work. I get to end this trip for me today by having a little more fun and bringing back the rental and telling them that one of the hamsters under the hood started yelling for a medic ! I got the extra insurance so i"m :bolt:

Thanks guys but we couldn't have done it without everyone's help.
Wheaties was a log splittin machine, fire tender and brought some killer lobster!
Maddog provided the tunes and theater plus so much more.
Lawndart's pork donation was one of the highlights of the weekend, for me at least.
Neffers beer was fantastic and I did my part to lighten the load.

Chef you made that plain food taste awesome, Mrs Chef was a wonderful helper and sweet as well. Maddogs chili was to die for and the trip back I had the drivers side window down most of the time. PHEWW what did I eat that smelled that bad.
The homebrew was great and the Aussie liquor was smooth as silk and made great Gator-Drunks.

To Shawk for again getting with the campground owner and reserving the space for us and the 4' fans that provided some semblance of comfort.
To Maddog (again) for getting in early, dealing with the hassles and all the bull youknowwhat that you were forced to endure, the time and effort and more effort and more effort that you put into making the site what it was, the six plus hours you put into making the chili, having the RV available for those that needed to cool off, and the staggering amount of funds that you put into making this gathering what it was.
To Lawndart for the fireworks, helping hand, ice and beverage runs, and entertainment.
To Wheaties for everything you did and assisting in the cooking of the lobsters, clams and chili.
To Neffers and Rosie for the many trips to the store for beer, ice, buns, torch oil, etc.
To Lyric for the "milk crate", food, ice, etc.
