"Double Trouble Two" - SX*B
Col. William B. Bailey
353rd Fighter Group, 352nd Fighter Squadron
1945
This is "Double Trouble Two" S/N 44-63684 Coded SX*B flown by then-Lt. Col. William B. Bailey of the 352nd Fighter Squadron, 353rd Fighter Group. He served as Air Executive and Deputy Commanding Officer being credited with six victories (three air, three ground) over 186 missions. His awards include the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross (6OLC), Air Medal (3OLC), WWII Victory Medal, European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign and Defense Medal, and the Legion d'Honneur.
He remained in USAF rising to the rank of Lieutenant General.

This aircraft was originally skinned by Fencer. I preserved some of his nose art as a tribute to his work but had to fix the name. It was skinned as "Double Trouble too" but the actual name is "Double Trouble two" (the last word is lower case). I also redid the checker pattern to make it more closely match the original. There are some artifacts that result from the three nose pieces coming together that cannot be avoided. I did my best.

Just an update to this one to tone down the colors (based on Devil505's and Volron's yellow suggestions for another skin), add the exhaust shrouds, place shading on the balance horns for rudder/elevator, update the gun bay access handles, and get the metal to not flare into pure white in direct light. I'll do a redraw from scratch later.

Looking good.
You might want to lighten the black a little.
Also, the panel line for the elevator trim tab is very stark for some reason.
Edit: I just looked your other skins and it looks similar to your other skins. Not sure why the trim tab jumped out to me on this skin.

You have a finely tuned eye so if it looks darker to you then it probably is.
It looks okay on the plane but going lighter won't hurt.
I'll tweak the black some more.
Thanks. :salute

Yeah, I agree with Devil here. The Black on the nose and tail looks a bit too black. The Black on the fuselage looks fine though. It didn't jump out at me like the nose and tail.

I'll never get why you guys think everything is too dark. It is definitely a recurring theme though. :bhead :rofl
Here's the black in the viewer. It's lighter than the prop.

are you still taking your screenshots in game with the Alt-S command?

Yes.

Yes.
Since I've had to resort to that method in wake of the film viewer being bugged, I've noticed that screenshots are significantly darker than in-game or in the film viewer. Not sure why that is.

Yeah. I also can't get my GeForce to work. Although I have archived films I could try taking screenshots of for comparison. :headscratch:
