Title: Re: Skyr
Post by: Debrody on October 23, 2014, 05:38:31 AM
Wait... what kind of rematch? Did i miss something?

Skyr won to like 6:4, 7:4 or something simmilar. Was quite simple, he can save more E and aim better, i can turn better.

I have my exuses for performing poorly, but that would sound odd to bring them up.

I wasnt filming but feel free to post them if you would like to. Honestly, forgot what was the key to record... maybe i could learn something from the raw .ahf-s.
This match was gentle and enjoyable, some good fights, some short ones. No disgraceful acts at all - if there were any, i would be the first one beyotching around.

And jup, Tongs, i was back for one night. Might hop one once or twice this month.

Edit: i dont want any pursefest in this thread, so please chill.

-you have never seen me flying the 190 therefor you have absolutely no idea how i like to fly this aircraft
-you called me an idiot yesterday numerous times, plus sent thoose awesome PMs involving my alcohol problems and the GF... yet youre trying to look good when im actually not attacking your hero? wow...

Its absolutely classless and spineless, please stay away from this discussion.

Title: Re: Skyr
Post by: Skyyr on October 23, 2014, 10:33:26 AM
We flew a total of 12 fights. Final score: 8-4

The fights were straightforward and without drama. The callout on 200, as well as the post here (and previous posts calling me out over the last several months) was a bit aggressive considering I'd only encountered Debrody on the forums, but I'll attribute that to anxious anticipation.

I wouldn't go as far as to say either pilot is a better e-fighter or turnfighter, as the fights were rarely pure forms of either. Although, I will say that we did have a great 8-minute long almost pure sustained turnfight (which is rare in most duels) - you held your turn rate better than most! In the end, all that a duel shows is who is left standing. Nothing more, nothing less.

I hope you got the fights you wanted, Debrody. I'd been looking forward to fighting you in your D9 since you called me out. ;)

Actually that was the most boring part and luckily only happened once. The rest were much better.

Pretty much.

Can i ask you to somehow post the films when i lost? I would like to see what i was doing wrong. Im especially curious about the merges - other than those situations, i felt like i was doing OK. Had the feeling that you had like 20mph speed advantage on those merges - couldnt even get my D9 turning as she can. Its not normal and i have to work on it really bad.

Its absolutely classless and spineless, please stay away from this discussion.

I called you an "idiot" when you came on and called me "Fullcum" after I posted  comments about some excellent flying by Peanut1 which had zero to do with you.

I later sent you a PM to underline I do not use personal issues I know about you that were told to me in private, nor ever have done so...so why do you continue with personal attacks on me?     A PM is just that, a PRIVATE MESSAGE i.e. something the sender would rather not bring up in public....in this case because I felt it wasn't the business of anyone else what your personal problems are.   This is viewed by you and others as being a "coward"....oh well.

Just to be clear....You were the one who chose to bring those issues out into ch200 just as you are doing so here.  You are doing so in an attempt to color me as classless when it is you who are doing so.  You want to air out your dirty laundry....that's your choice as they are your problems.  Don't try using my attempt to state there isn't a need to use those as public attacks as a reason to publicly attack me.

Pretty sure I have the film that can validate my statements above.

Skyyr isn't my hero.  He's my squadmate.  I tend to defend them when it is needed.

Glad to see you are back.  Have fun.

You guys are hanging yourselves just fine on your own.   I don't need anyone to fight for me, nor have I asked. (Debrody and I could hardly be called buddies based on our disagreements here over the months--I doubt anyone sees him as a crusader for my "cause", especially him.  Nice try, hypoc.)

I am enjoying the attempt to right the PR ship after you collectively stepped in it so messily and repeatedly, however.    Nothing speaks so rightly to my point as that. :D

That was obviously a tongue in cheek rebuttal to your refusal on 200 to DA him.   Along with a few insults from you.

Then, to save face, you started challenging others, like Stang.   Nice try, there, Goebbels.

I didn't decline to DA him. I asked him if he was Debrody, he said he wasn't. It's not my fault - he even apologized for it in this thread.

But even then, so you're saying crowing is ok when someone won't DA you, but it's not ok when you beat said person in the DA?  :rofl

Iko got into my head? News to me, considering he was spamming me with PM's and then riding along with Debrody during his duels to try to size me up. He knows how this will end, as do you. And you know I'm going to have a merciless field day with it once it does happen.

Well its in my opinion that just because someone fly the plane a lot in the MA doesn't make them one of the best pilots of that plane.  Being good in that plane is when the odds is against you in that plane and you still come out on top 9/10 times

 you lost your duels  :O

We both know that's not true. I fought you over the DA lake in multiple aircraft and you lost (although, at the time, it wasn't by that large of a margin), so you resorted to challenging me to duel in Ki-43's because, to quote you, "e fighting is running." To top it off, you removed your loss when you collided with me. And if that wasn't bad enough, those fights were from 8 months ago (which you conveniently left out), when I was a new player still learning the game (which is why I don't have films, as I was a new player and didn't know how to set up the auto-record feature in AH).

Don't worry, though. You've given me plenty of good films since then. :D

Using the bolt at the end of you statement is appropriate.

The dueling ladder you speak of is a practice ladder... preseason. We will see how you do in the real thing in January (assuming you join up).

It was so cute how you "rode along" with Debbie during his duel.... or maybe in this case we should call it a "dual"? I Did you hold hands too, or were you too busy taking notes?

Title: Re: Skyr
Post by: Skyyr on October 24, 2014, 08:20:07 PM
There's nothing to lie about, iKo. I'd produce the films, except that I didn't know how to record AH film 8 months ago and I wasn't running Fraps at the time. We both know the truth, as does my squad who was there at the time (as well many of your squad mates, coincidentally). If you'd like to only post a fraction of 8-month-old films, be my guest. In the meantime, I've been uploading our most recent fights, sir. ;)

Also, I'm not sure why you insisted on riding along with Debrody during his duels with me. He clearly didn't need any help in flying.

You can make as many MA films you want, I fly till I die and can care less means nothing to me in MA. But DA duels are even up on both sides no squad help or gang banging and just editing the films the way you see fit.
Again I will tell YOU when we will duel again whether you like it or not.

It was so cute how you "rode along" with Debbie during his duel.... or maybe in this case we should call it a "dual"? I Did you hold hands too, or were you too busy taking notes?

You don't need to ride along with people to see how he fights...you can find it here https://www.youtube.com/user/Skyyr

The fact that you made a thread to talk about ONE person. Do any of you have girlfriends or significant others, a hobby maybe, something you enjoy doing, play sports, school, work?

The bbs drama is at an all time high or maybe Snailman can justify this with a chart?

Ok i was gently asking for the films like 5 or 6 times. No response ever. Guessing i was giving you enough respect to deserve at least an answer that no i wont post those damn films. Enough from this.

I do accouse you of cheating in certain rounds, frankly in every single round after i have mentioned that i do not film. I was exactly copying your moves on the merge yet you have ended up 300+ above me. That is not possible withouth having 30mph+ speed advantage on me on the merge, because you can gain some by performing the moves in a better quality than i do (altough i doubt that because your scissors were so poor, you have lost them every single time to my rusty drunk arse stupid myself...) but not 300 yards in a straight double immel. I think this is the reason you do not want to post those films.

See how a decent opinion can be changed.

Drama on. If theres no proof, then i claim my victory. I cannot fly for the gods sake, but youre even worse.

Rofl..so he didn't cheat the rounds he won before he knew you weren't filming? Or maybe he used his telepathic powers to know that you weren't filming the whole time?  :huh

You claim your victory because you put the burden of proof on him to show that he couldn't have possibly have beaten you, even while drunk, without cheating? Just because you say so?  And you say he's arrogant? :rofl :rofl

After allll the trash you talked before you 'started' flying again, even going as far as stating that you would own him when you got back, or something like that, do you honestly think that he should 'help' you learn anything from fighting him, Has he declined posting films of OTHER people he has beaten? They are all on YouTube, I am sure your films will make their way there as well. Then you can watch them like everyone else, I don't think you deserve special treatment because of the trash talking you have done in the past, I am quite enjoying watching you roll around throwing a tantrum and asking yourself the question: "How could I have possibly lost?" :headscratch:

Moral of this story: Maybe you should wait and actually fight someone before you start talking trash on the forums :)

Debrody,

This thread has been respectful up until your post, though I will do my best to keep it remaining respectful. I have nothing to hide. I also have no inherent problem with posting the films publicly.

Having said that, the reason I have not posted the films (and why I will not), is this: From the beginning, you have continuously insulted my flying ability, insulted my squad, and stated that you would do nothing short of sweep your win against me... without ever having encountered me once in-game. You posted this thread in an unsportsmanlike attempt to ridicule me in preparation for your win... and it backfired severely. Do you honestly think, then, that I would accommodate your request to give you films for any reason?

No.

You, sir, are my enemy, and you have failed. You have been tried and found wanting.

What I will do is post screenshots directly from the AHF's showing our actual merge speeds, because the results are quite interesting.

Duel 1 (Yak-3) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/As9WK7a.png): Skyyr 364mph, Debrody 370mph (I was 6mph slower)
Duel 2 (D9) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/FwsW5rn.png): Skyyr 357mph, Debrody 367mph (I was 10mph slower)
Duel 3 (LA-7) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/V8NkXM7.png): Skyyr 378mph, Debrody 380mph (I was 2mph slower)
Duel 4 (K4) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/r3qSDE0.png): Skyyr 362mph, Debrody 382mph (I was 20mph slower)
Duel 5 (P-51) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/B0Vaz8y.png): Skyyr 347mph, Debrody 352mph (I was 5mph slower)
Duel 6 (Ki-84) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/uD69j7t.png): Skyyr 360mph, Debrody 365mph (I was 5mph slower)
Duel 7 (TA-152) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/pbemM3i.png): Skyyr 346mph, Debrody 354mph (I was 8mph slower)
Duel 8 (P-47D-25) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/tUKUFN5.png): Skyyr 302mph, Debrody 336mph (I was 34mph slower!)
Duel 9 (P-47D-25) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/cqDKzqY.png): Skyyr 293mph, Debrody 341mph (I was 48mph slower!!!!!)
Duel 10 (Spitfire 8) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/ea6dIax.png): Skyyr 350mph, Debrody 341mph (I was 9mph faster)
Duel 11 (Spitfire 8) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/ShE9tvA.png): Skyyr 342mph, Debrody 337mph (I was 5mph faster)
Duel 12 (D9) Merge Speeds (http://i.imgur.com/9SBT6rH.png): Skyyr 368mph, Debrody 374mph (I was 6mph slower)

As you can see, I was slower than you on all but two merges, yet you still only managed to win 1/3 of your fights. Not only that, but your allegation that I somehow managed a 30mph+ airspeed advantage is not just false, but you (and between the two of us, only you) are the one guilty of it on two separate sorties. That also means that you either a) broke the altitude limit or b) rolled before the mutually-confirmed time. Per the rules we both agreed to, this would nullify one of your wins (the other sortie you lost, even with the airspeed advantage) and bring the score to 8-3; however, seeing as you've already been beaten, it wouldn't make a difference.

You have started a war that we have fought many, many times. We know exactly how this will end. You have just experienced first-hand the beginning of what will be many defeats for you.

I still don't understand the switching off of the engine many times in those fights.  It's been a topic many times over the years, some saying it is no different than chopping throttle, others disagreeing.  Does it really have enough positive effect to use it, or is it just a case of the pilot not having a throttle, and it being faster than holding down the minus key or whatever the keyboard equivalent for reducing throttle is.

Anyway, good to see you flying again Debrody, it's been quite a while since you've been a regular in the MA, once you get the rust off, it'll be interesting to see this duel again.  Not taking anything away from Skyrr, those were good fights, and Styrr has a pretty consistent and accurate shot.

Once the new version comes around, a many of the old hands come out of the woodwork, I think we'll be seeing some pretty epic fights vs SKyrr, it seems everyone wants a piece of him, and there are some guys out there who are/were incredible 1v1 dueling pilots.

It doesn't work.  Back in the very early days of AH there were a few players (mostly your luftwhiners) that would turn off their engines in order to bleed E rapidly to get around a turn quicker and/or to force an overshoot, hblair was one of the players that used to do it a lot.  Back then, if you were at 100% power and turned off the engine and then turned it back on, you'd be back at 100% power as though you didn't turn off your engine.  Hitech then changed the engine start up sequence so if you shut it down and then turned your engine back on, your engine would be at idle and not gain any benefit by turning off your engine.

I know some claim that it helps with hammerheads but again, it's just an AH urban myth that it does.

Oh then. No film, no proof. Seriously, on the d9 round for example, youre harshly pulling it up and you claim that youre a couple mphs slower when im still almost level? Hmmm hmmmm...

Also... photoshop is a wonderful tool  ;)

Once again, not my problem. In fact, you openly stated that you didn't care about the results of the fight (see the chatlog at the 10:00 mark):
"idc... results does not matter, just fooling around" [sic]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAPV1Cq9bM0&t=600

You also disclosed at the very end of our duels that you weren't filming the fights (see the chatlog at the 19:35 mark):
"btw... im not filming theese" [sic]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAPV1Cq9bM0&t=1175

Yet, now you suddenly care about the results of the duels and you demand me to provide my films, the same films you couldn't have cared less about producing yourself?

The burden of proof is on you, and anyone with a higher education or even a basic introduction to Login and Reasoning would recognize that. I have went above and beyond and showed the merge speeds, debunking your claims. Interestingly enough, failure to record your own fights is enough to nullify your wins in the 1v1 bracket. Where are YOUR films? Where did you get your 48mph speed advantage from in the second P-47D-25 duel? Perhaps we should adjust the score to be 8-0 as you can't provide any proof of your adherence to the rules we agreed to.

What is? Attacking a guy that none of you have ever met outside of an online game or. . . .

Wait, is that the entertainment? I didn't realize someone you have never met or someone who has NO significance towards your life could have such an effect on your life. Maybe I should show some players more attention in seek of entertainment.

Hey Skyrr - I think there are 2 r's

I have watched this with interest. Even more so when I encountered Skyrr again on Saturday night/ Morning whatever time it was relative to where you are in the world.

I think it was 15 all because you returned serve by running through the ack after being reversed and came out with a friend. I think I got you earlier and maybe we fight a few times each tour. I’m not sure of the statistics but there are two overriding constants;

The first is anytime you get shot down by me you invariably start offering – no demanding to go to the DA, show me a film which apparently shows that you won even though my screen clearly says I shot you down and start screaming warping. Then you offer the psych solution. Your last diagnosis to me was “passive aggressive”.

The second is that when your chosen ride the Dora is E neutralised you haven’t much left to fall back on. You’re kind of a “One Trick Pony” who doesn’t fly a Pony, if you know what I mean.

All the crew you’re claiming on and that I have fought have one thing in common. When the fight gets down and slow, they haven’t even started to panic. They can take it to the next phase and start making life difficult in their German Iron. Using the plane for an unfamiliar purpose and more than holding their own. With respect, if I can get your E down and you haven’t got the opportunity to “call a friend” that’s just about it.

Your squaddies tell me you’re a nice guy and that isn’t in doubt and in game you have the warp 5 BnZ down to an art, as have many others. But you might let a bit of air out of the ego balloon and start learning to become a little less defensive.

Sometimes you’re the bug, other times you’re the windscreen. It’s all in perspective.

ThreeUp -

For the night in question, you shot me down once while AFK - I said nothing and re-upped. I knew you were in the area from it.

I then went and ran into group of four enemy aircraft, with two friendlies on my side, IIRC. There was a P-51, a Spit, a F4U, and one other aircraft (I forget what it was). The Spit started warping and I knew it was you, as you always warp. Ask anyone in our squad - it's a running joke because the warping Spitfire is always ThreeUp. I said "Warping Spit - must be ThreeUp." I then shot you down after roping you and the F4U. You came back and I engaged you again, however you then had friendlies come into our 1v1 (which you conveniently failed to mention). I disengaged. You started talking trash, complaining about my RTB while completely ignoring the fact you had friendlies with you. I extended until your friendlies left and then came back, shooting off your wing in one pass.

You complained again, and I told you the DA was open. You declined, hence my comment.

I'll see if I can find the AH film - I'm fairly certain it auto-saved.

If you'd like to go to the DA, the offer is still open. In fact, you're more than welcome to get down, low, and slow in a D9 and I'll fly your Spit. I'll show you exactly why I don't turn, because I don't count on my opponent making a mistake. The Spitfire 8/9 outperforms the D9 in every aspect, except in airspeed and roll-rate, and a slow D9 stands absolutely no chance whatsoever against one flown correctly slow and on the deck. If the D9 does win an extended turnfight/stallfight on the deck, it's because the Spitfire pilot screwed up.

Not how I recall it. And I’m not going chapter and verse though the trash talk was to suggest you obsess over score and film and to call you a banana when you stated I was “passive aggressive”. And that old “afk” chestnut has been re-heated way too much.

Why would I;

Want to fly a Dora when I’m nice and snug in my training plane happy in my dweebiness?

Not disagree as many others can morph a D9 into a more than adequate turn fighter? I have seen and experienced it. You’re limiting your horizons. Dream Big Champion, Dream Big. Have you turned off the Stall Limiter? (chuckles behind hand).

Contribute more to this than this post which allows you the last word so you can do a “lap of honour”.

I wasn’t aware I was a running joke, but you take this far too seriously I think. I’m not aware of any warping and you may be the first one to bring it up. My squaddies haven’t. Maybe we’re all warping in unison.

I think you’ll go Supernova if you don’t take a few deep breaths, but that’s just me. Enjoy. I was merely trying to highlight that a few of the crew you are claiming superiority over are better all-round Dora pilots.

I think you would smile more if you became a smaller target.

Funny how it is lame and gay to use the strenghts of ones plane in order to win. Ok, its not so fun to be beaten w/o even get a chance but thats life. Speed dictates the terms of the fight, both in AH and in WW2. A faster plane can engage and disengage at will in order to win over his opponent and i see nor reason not to exploit that advantage. Yes its really fun to be entangled in a 1v1 Stall fight to the death but that is nothing i can expect from every fight in the MA.

Actually two.

Theoretically speaking, how would you expect anyone to give you respect if youre belittling anyone who comes up?  Isnt it just a little bit hypocritical? How ever it ss spelled.

-"enjoy your coolness"     Again, the same story, "we rock, yall suck", but its me (us) who are the cooldude wannabes. Thank you very much, im actually having great fun on your attempts to make me look like i was a noob or a wannabe... you smallest wannabe of all, you. Seeking attention? Here, here!

Thanks for the entertainment, great posts, keep them coming!  :)

"I PWN YAS ALL"   :headscratch:  I have never said any such thing.   As for Skyyr doing so, that's his business.  As far as I can tell he continues to simply reply to your taunts and accusations.

FYI - He isn't my hero (I have none in this game, I assure you...).  He's a squadmate.

As for the rest:

You attempt to position yourselves as being constantly under attack from the "Evil Damned 2".  The facts (which can be provided if you'd like me to) are that your squad are both the initiators and/or the aggressors in almost every discussion.  And in this case, you were the one who posted trash talk constantly over the past months about Skyyr, despite never having engaged him in actual "cartoon combat".

After all that, you show up and decide to fight him and lose decisively in a one v. one engagement.  Then you start posting excuses and accusations yet try to play as the wounded party when Skyyr and other members of his squad start taking shots at you in response to your claims?  Come one, Debrody....you of all people should have understood how that would end up.

Ponder that a bit before replying.
