Have been confirmed by Russian MoD as well. Videos and pics have confirmed that 1 of 2 crew member is KIA. Faith of other unknown but he is claimed to be in hands of the rebels. (not IS).
Complicates the affairs a bit, it will be interesting to se how Russia reacts to it, so far they claim it was shot down by SAM.

Now, the reason, apparently, was an intent to firewall the Shia superstate even then being melded from the now-abandoned Iraq south and Iran, but honestly, the whole plan smacks of too-clever-by-half hubris, imj, and, at the least could well foster another Shia vs. Sunni war.

Actually, THIS, I thought was common knowledge...
Saying the US CREATED Daesh is tinfoil-hat lunacy. However, we openly stated we were arming them years ago, and we were doing so to fight Assad. They started off in Syria as anti-assad, we started by dropping food, medical supplies and aid. Then, rather than put our own boots on the ground the fight Assad, we dropped weapons to the rebels. They started off in Syria as anti-assad, we started by dropping food, medical supplies and aid. Then, rather than put our own boots on the ground the fight Assad, we dropped weapons to the rebels. This was all done very publicly and in the open. Then, as time progressed, these anti-Assad rebels became Daesh.
You are wrong in every aspect of that, ISIS was not formed by Syrian rebels, they were created in Iraq by a fusion of Iraqi AQ and the remaining leaders of Saddams regime. They also existed prior to the outbreak of the Syrian civil war.

What media has pretty much forgot to tell is that the caliphate is more or less cut in half by the kurds and the Iraqi army. As soon as Ramadi is completley in Iraqi hands (soon) the iraqi part is cut off from the syrian part och the caliphate.

That explains the second floor of my building. It's a software development department - I'm not sure for which on-board systems. I've walked into that men's room before when it was at Defcon 10 (although "DepthCon" is definitely more descriptive).
That particular restroom has about 8 stalls and there are certain times of day when that particular software department is working at full utilization.
Of course, we have homegrown sphincterrorism here as well. There was this guy named Dick Smith (RIP, massive heart attack) whose girth - no lie, and he'd prove it by holding his belt above his head and showing that it touched the floor - exceeded his height. That guy could generate a porcelain racing stripe and depthcon 10 all on his own. I note that, if he was feeling courteous, he'd "ripple flush" the commercial crapper to suck the noxious material down as it emerged, more or less. That ripple flushing was pretty impressive. You've probably heard the old adage, "the horse that s41ts fast doesn't s41t long".
Dick proved that one wrong.
