I'll get the ball rolling.
Last night... Baltic map (ugh) the bish were in the process of taking back V38. The "bad guys" were spawning flack panzers into our air base on the other side of the Island. After getting killed twice (A-20 and B-25) to the same guy (I think it was dreamer9) I upped a 110 climed and pickeled both 500kg bombs, and killed him. By this time my squaddie SoonerMP let me know that the VHs were flat at 38 so I flew over there to help clear the base of GVs. Upon arrival there was Lusche in a TA-152, wreaking his usual havok on the 3 friendlys over the base. It was a beautiful display of E management... I wep'd up my 110 , dived and attempted to kill him while he was low with the A2A rockets on my 110 (unsuccessfully). He made a couple of turns and climbed out in front of me. I gave chase and to my surprise I closed to about 400 yards and fired a burst of 30mm into his 152. In flames he dived to evade with me on his six. He was pulling away on the deck when his FW exploded. Gave and received a <Salute>. Landed kills at the Vbase and got my name in lights. Logged out after that due to wife ack... best to end the night on a positive note!

One of the best sorties i would say had to be last night. I was in a 109K4 over the main furball island. I seen a C205(SubWayCH) thinking it would he a fast and easy kill. But we went at it for about 3 min. Was a great stall fight. After i killed the C2 i killed a P51 who was a noob. Then SubWayCH reups in a yak we go at it again for about another 2-3min. Between those two fights we did no HO. They were both great stall fights at about 12K. It was only 3 kills but two of the fights were great ones.

Back before some of the server changes, I log in to fight knights down to 2 main airfields, with bish and rooks pushing in equally on both sides. I up a C202, head out to the nearest enemy base (following a few scattered friendlies) and end up engaging multiple enemy cons in 1v1 and 2v2 situations. No squaddies, no real teamwork, just general looking out for each other.
I even put several attack runs into a lancaster formation before giving up and saving my 2x 50cal ammo (I got 1-2 assists later). I head back to base with 5-6 kills, have no damage so I hotpad. I've been taking out p51s, spits, the odd ki61 and so forth. This time I head off to the other front after I take off. It's an equal distance away. The furball here is more intense. Lots of low alt high powered planes. N1k2s, P38s, 190s, 109s, etc. I pop quite a few because they underestimate my ability to retain E. I even got onto the six of a C205, and after he realizes he's in trouble he runs to ack (but doesn't make it before I snipe him with the last of my 50cals).
I RTB and while on the way I get an extra kill message (a N1k2 that I put a very solid burst into, but had to let go), and fly back to base and land 12 kills in a C202.
Maybe not my "best" but one of the most memorable. 1 sortie, 1 hotpad, 12 kills, multiple assists.
This was a while back (a year ago or more).
Recently, I was in a P-40E with 50% adn a DT climbing up towards a squaddie's location. He said he had enemy cons dragging from 15k or so, I was at 12k, so I turn the other way and keep climbing. Only, he drags them low, still heading toward me, so I turn in, drop my DT, and engage to help clear them. He drags them very low (5k) so I can dive in. I can't pick a target right away because a spit16, a yak9, a 190a8, and a p-51d are all on his six. I just make the closest ones break, is all, and loop up and around. I'm a little hazy on the specifics (didn't roll film) but I believe I popped the Yak due to his target fixation, made the p51 break, and the spit and 190 saw me early and positioned on me. As I pull off the dead yak the 190 is closing fast, nothing I can do but split S. So I do, but he gets a single ping lucky shot, and pops one of my flaps and one of my elevators (so said the damage list, I didn't notice it -- perhaps a bug). The flap was down 1-2 notches to help my split S, unfortunately. I evade him, dodge the pony, and somewhere along the way the 190a8 goes and pops my squaddie. I hit the P-51 in max deflection shooting and either he over-stressed or I landed hits, but his wing pops off and he hits the water. That leaves the 190a8 and the spit16. I ping the 190 1-2 times and he runs home. The spit16 has been taking runs on me and this is quite dangerous. I have to keep lowering the other flap to balance me out because my jammed flap is really throwing me off. The spit tries to turn with me but due to luck, my throttle chopping, and well timed breaks he overshoots many times. I keep my nose low as not to bleed off E, and he realizes this and takes it vertical, but still I manage to get some HO-like hits on him, and eventually he runs out of ammo and after a good 5-minute fight he RTBs. I'm down to about 10 rpg and my squaddies have reupped and are heading my way. I head home (clear now) and land a damaged P-40E. One of my squaddies chased down the spit or he ditched, I don't know, but I got the kill. The 190a8 got away.
My arm was shaking after that one. I think I'll remember it for QUITE some time to come. No way a P-40E should have come out of that fight alive!

It was so long ago I don't remember to much but shot down 9 buffs in a JUG, it was a small field they were headed for so I was happy. Besides that shooting down 6 noe goons in a 262 that were headed to a base that was capped and theirs for the taking. Not the most skillful sorties but both helped preserve air fields.

Earlier Today was in an F4u-4 climbed out to 9k and headed to nearest Bish field. First saw a goon and bounced him, then noticed 15k Pony diving on me, I dove pulled up, rolled over and started spraying, taking the wing off the Pony who over shot.
Seen a Ki84 climbing out to East so went after him, had a fw190 bout 2k under him, dove in had the Ki84 Turn hard, figured FW was gona go vert so I pulled a loop till 250 then dropped 1 notch flaps, FW stalled, shot him down, straighten out to see N1k dive on me, lucky a friendly dove on him shot him down, now Ki84's 400 behind me, I pull hard left, dropped gears and flaps, and did hard right, Ki84 overshot, shoot him down.
Oh and got to land before Mach 2 La7 missed vulching me on landing, thats a GOOD day :rock

Yesterday I upped a 202 for fun. Got a P-51, 2 38's and a 190A-5 before I got low on fuel. I landed just as someone started strafing. I ended standing on my nose but still alive. I ended the flight and then saw that the guy who tried to vulch me had crashed and I had gotten a proxy kill :D
5 kills in a 202, just to end the night. Now that's pretty good.

I got two. (ok, I got hundreds, but i'm thinking about two)
one.
Low ish thinking about heading home in a 262 when I spot an nme dot. Give chase and find it's an nme 262.
We are all alone in the sector (or far 'nuff away we never got disturbed), co-E (give or take) and duked it out. Turned into one of those white knuckle moments. We fought for 10+ min with much of it otd cranking our flaps up/down knife fighting our 262's.
Great fight.
Very well known, very good "Stick".
They had film on and sent me the film but I had to promise not to go 'public' with the fight.
Too bad too 'cause it 'was one for the ages.

It was Saturday King of the Hill, and I had two wins (wabbit). The plane pick that round was the C202. The night before I was in the DA fighting someone in C202's.. We had used the small gun package (the two little bb mg's) for our Duels (makes for a fun duel). I unfort. had forgotten this fact and rolled that KOTH round with the 2x7.7 mm's. (what's that, like two .303's?)
BigMax gave the "KILLSHOOTER IS OFF!!! FIGHT IS ON!!!! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!" and away we go.
I immediatly get jumped by three planes (I AM a wabbit) and during the fight I get shot and loose one of my guns. I win the 3 on 1 (dunno how) and fly off to the nearest fight.
I find two planes otd, one pretty shot up. With just the single p-shooter bb gun I have left I manage to damage the healthy plane enough to take 'em out and IIRC the other one went bingo fuel/oil and had to End Flight.
Nose on to the next fight and managed to get them to maneuver into the ground.
LAST TWO!!!
With the last of my ammo I managed to damage the other guy enough that I eventually shot 'em down and won my first Saturday King of the Hill. I had gotten six kills with basically 1 .303 mg.
I've had a special place in my heart for the C202 ever since.

Best sorties are when I'm flying with the guys in the 80th 38s and I'm laughing so hard I can't fly straight cause someone has said or done something to crack me up, followed by wading into a fight and seeing the 38s around me cleaning house and clearing my tail, followed by more and more bad guys coming down on top of the 38s and the inevitable laughter that follows as my 38G goes down in a mass of parts :)

Lute, the 202 has 12.7mms (~50cal) in the nose, but 7mms (~30cal) in the wings. Do you mean you were only shooting the 7mms (not the nose guns)?

I was only shooting ONE of the 7.7mm's in the wings, as the other was shot out early in the first 3 on 1. I took off with the small gun package I was using in the DA the night before. So yeah, I rolled with two 7.7mm's in the wings only, no cowl guns.

Not for the number of kills but for the quality of the fights/opponents. Been having lots of really good 1v1 1v2 fights on furball island lately during off peek times. Landed 3 seperate sorties in a row two with 7 kills one eight kills. All in Yak.

You can't take the cowl guns off. The cowl guns are always there. The wing guns go away.
I think maybe you were shooting with one of the cowling guns, the other cowl gun being shot away, and you left the 7mm wing guns in the hangar.

Ahhh you are correct sir. I rolled with the two 12.7mm cowl guns. I had to go load AH to see that I had mentally reversed the guns on that plane. For YEARS now i've thought they were vs. versa.
Ok, so I won that KOTH with a single .50 cal then.

My best was when I was in a D-9 a month ago. Me and my squaddie were flying to a local nit base when we saw a pony flying low. Killed him in the first pass. we get to the base and there was that pony again. He died again in the first pass. wile I killed him a 38 uped, and again I killed him. This went on until my ninth kill, when I ran outa bullets.
That had to be the most fun I had in any airplane.

I have a couple that stick out in my mind.
Few tours ago we(the knights) were trying to take back v66 on the baltic map. I was flying an A20 long story short got a couple of gv kills and hangers are all down. Down to my last 2 bombs and waiting on the troops the pad hanger pops. Swoop in drop the last 2 on the hanger hoping to soften it up so someone can kill it. Guess there was alot of enemy waiting for that hanger...2 bombs got 13 kills. Computer got all laggy and thought crap I am getting discoed. Then all the kills started popping up in the text bar. I was laughing all the way back to base.
On the pizza map faught my way from the base to town to the spawn at an air base in a tiger. Landed alot of kills and got called a spawn camper. Truthfully only got a few kills on the spawn before someone took the VH down at thier base. That sortie was a turning point for in GV's...loved'em before but after that been a tiger dweeb ever since.

Last week I landed 11 kills in a n1k while defending against paccer and his knit crew... Couldn't belive what I was doing. Made 3 guys auger while I was scrambling to get back to the base, or get some help.
I skidded onto the taxiway and to a stop, and .efluffied before I could get vulched.
It was one of those white knuckle, adrenaline pumping fights that keeps me hooked!

Latest one was a drop down n dirty fight with a spit flown by 3fingers - initially started (iirc) in the vertical, got him into a turn fight, and ended up right at sea level - lost, but was a fun few minutes - had a few, but for some reason this one stayed in my mind (or that grey area laughingly refered to as such).

MY best sorties where the long oscar ones. Most of them was with me and RedRusky, we would take Lancs, load them up, Fly to the Corner of map, then fly to the opposite corner. 5 hours of fun and blowing up knits and bishops and lots of yo mama jokes and getting muted from 200 lol <S>

this isnt a best sortie per-say but its one of my most memerable shots
i was in a hurri2d the one with the vicker 40mm, i was in a furball, about to fire on someone sniper style, i had my converge set at d650 and the one guy i was aiming at was about that far, sounds perfect eh? it gets better. right before i get ready to fire, a con pulls up straight in front of me, i tweak out and accidentally tap the trigger. the tap fired 1 round from each gun, and both hit him square on each wing, he had been going perfectly vertical, now yawing or tilting, and after i shot him, he kept going up and slowly turning because of the engine torque. it was so funny seeing him going straight up and down that i didnt notice the lala ace pilot

was a huge GVs battle knits/bish very close spawn and "boom", but knits killed all of us camping there and the VH spawning , soo i did up a with eggs and and move at spawn. There were about 15 -20 bored knits in GVs killshooting each other , i dump my bomb smoke 2 of them, and in 1 min i colected 15 more proxis: landed 17 in TBM :D

Oh it just happened.
I was in a Hurricane 2c trying to get 2 or 3 kills to land.
Well The rooks were after 51 and they had just taken 52. I was in a Spit 16 and i kept getting killed and i got frustrated. So I upped a Hurricane 2c to go and get myself some kills. I went and flew about 7k and there was god knows how many rooks. The Bishops were outnumbered 2 or 3 to 1 in the beginning. So after i called out on country for help, i went and me and about 7 or 8 people went head first into the Rook horde. There was 3 spits and about 10 hurricanes. (Most hurri 1s suprsingly). I took on 2 of the spits and i ended up killing them both. So i was gonna go and land but i saw Shreck and he had about 3 planes on him and i Dove on 1 of the P-51s. I was low on ammo so i was going home. I got chased by a Spitt 8 and i turned and shot him out of the sky. Almost out of ammo and I have 4 kills. Only 3 bullets on 1 side, 5 on the other side. There was an F4U-1A chasing someone and i went behind him and killed him. I had 5 kills in the middle of a huge dogfight out numbered and I somehow made it back to base and landed my kills. :devil

Not one of my best, but one of the funniest was last week when I engaged a set of b-17'S with my own set of 17's.
I was not far from my base and probably only at 5 k then, when I notice a set of 17's co-alt ready to bomb the base.
I turn on him, get on his 6, and start to fire with my front guns, it was quite difficult to adjust my aim as I was not in the cockpit anymore, but I manage to get 2 of the buffs on that pass. By the time the opponent, replied with his rear guns, but only to damage my main 17.
And there begins a dogfight with this remaining 17, trying to turn on each other, fire all guns like crazy, but I had a great advantage by then, as I was careful not to lose any of my drones.
I finally manage to get the last one, after like 10 minutes of fight, and land back to base with those 3 b-17's landing 3 kills. :rock
I guess my opponent was quite upset as he didn't reply to my <S> lol.
Anyway that was a blast, for the ones interested I can provide the film of that unusual dogfight.

My best sortie was along time ago i dont even remember the guys name. I was in a 190 a8 and him in i believe a P-51 or F4U we twisted and turned for a good 15 or 20 minutes trying to get the advantage on each other.He ended up putting me in the tower but i remember that fight to this day.I miss those 1 on 1 fight to the death sorties. :aok :salute

Frame 2 of the Der Grosse Schlag event. Flying with the second bomb division with Easyscore as flight lead. Almost 3 hours of formation flying with over 40 bombers in the air, Luftwaffe coming at us from every direction, primary and secondary targets socked in. Had to fight our way in and out, keep track of ammo usage, maintain tight formation, great escorts of P-51's and P-38's.
That event was most fun I've EVER had playing this game. The immersion factor was through the roof, the sides were very well balanced, weather was a factor, as well as winds at the higher altitudes.
Never foget that event!!!!!
HUGE :salute to the CM's, CO's and pilots that organized and flew that one.

I went to a base that was under attack to help defend it. I spawned in my 38J and fired up the engines. I started rollout and made it about 45 feet when I was vulched by a LALA.

Well, it was really quite simple to get all those kills in a Spit I. I parked my plane near the GV spawn point closest to my base while my squadmates kept spawning GVs and then .efing out of them, giving me proxy "kills."
When I got really bored, I flew up and shot at them until all of my ammo was gone. Of course, since it was all scored as a Fighter, I actually lost rank because none of the GV kills were counted, and I'd just obliterated my hit percentage.

I've had some great sorties but the two that really stands out to me was while back ago. I couldn't up my pony due to ENY and I'm not big fan of the B so I went up in Hurri I. I came across two LA7s. I got into two vs 1 but end up shooting both down.
Second one was in FM2 - came across 110/P38 mission and I end up shooting down about 5 before rammer got me.

Most memorable: Shooting down a F4U with a Zeke in a 1v1 turn fight while eating a slice of pizza.

The best sortie I ever went on I downed 7 planes. It was a slaughter though, their pilots stunk like a garbage heap, and I was in a Spit. There was no chance.
But the most fun sortie i've ever been on was my first mission w/ROX. It was a while ago, before Alliance Missions restarted. We took off and started flying for about 10 minutes until we reached the target, at which point, I spiraled down slowly as bombs fell. I shot down 2 N1Ks, and a Hellcat in the process of taking the base. It was also my first mission.

Not my best sortie, but one of my most memorable ones. About a month after the Ju-87 comes out, I up one with the MOAB. I forget what my original target was, but a 38L sees me and goes after me. I ditch the bomb and evade. He thinks I'm easy meat, and continues to attack me, and is trying to stall fight me. (mistake one on his part) I continue to evade and eventually we get down on the deck. He makes another mistake and reverses a turn, and I'm on him. Several high deflection shots later his horizontal stab parts company with his plane, and down he goes.
Another one is when I shot down a 262 with a Spit I. :O He was vulching a field, and I upped at just the right time to give him a face full of .303's as my wheels left the tarmack.

Clerick & I were flying around with the A8s & this lone spit (IIRC) kept upping, over & over again (I think we were trying to capture the base). We'd let him get up then one of us would engage him & blast him out of the sky. Think we landed with around 3-4 kills each & there were 4 or 5 of us. We even told him to quit upping over 200 because we felt bad for him. He told us no & that he wanted to take off from that base. We still use his name to refer to easy kills.
Other time was when YGBSM came in as usual vulching the field in his Dora. He'd blow up in the ack & come back, time & time again. I think he killed me about a hundred times. (Once on approach trying to land some kills) I finally managed to get airborne & was typing to someone when I get a check 6. Sure enough, here comes this Dora at about Mach 1 headed straight for my Jug on climb out. I die & re-up just in time to read over 200 "Jeep, you should be back on the field about now". Right as my engine fires up, ack starts shooting & here comes a Dora (I heard the sound barrier break as it came in) & {POOF}

There are so many, and this isn't my BEST sortie (I don't think I have any single best one) but it's very memorable.
I was flying a b-25H and trying to use the big gun to shoot GVs. Well I'm landing lots of hits but getting no kills!
The only kills I'd had were with my 3x 1000lbs before this. I dropped them on some stubborn GVs attacking the vbase I was flying over. I was working with the GVs defending, but they were more effective than me.
So I come in low for a pass on a sherman. It's my 4th or 5th pass. Somehow he hits me and pops my wingtip off as I fly past. You know that a missing wingtip on a b-25 is a death sentence, right? Keep that in mind. So I'm slamming the stick hard left to compensate, full left rudder, and nothing. Then, it hits me. I pull nose up (rolling right, into the missing wing) and this lets me get a notch of flaps out. I'm still banked 45 degrees into the missing wingtip here. I'm getting lower and lower, full flaps out, GEAR! GEAR! AAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!! and I touch down with my right gear first. I settle onto the other and come to a stop in between various trees.
I used F3 to taxi to the vbase. It takes me 10-15 minutes of avoiding trees and hills. I pull up to the VH pad and land safely, with the 2 bomb kills I made earlier.
I might have this on film, too!

Flying with Muttman on Baltic, we were approaching 9 from 50 or 51, about 5,000 feet. I can't remember how it started but it was 4 or 5 enemy against myself and Muttman. Mutt saved my skin more than I can remember but I know we were both still alive at the end. Actually that's not completely true, I believe I ended up ditching shortly after the last enemy splashed the water.
