Not quite.
Exact moment I started firing. Note you are NOT in my gunsight, as I had to pull DEFLECTION to hit you.
Around the time that the rounds that hit your F4U would have been fired.
Again, my gunsight.
First hits, leveling out to go vert (which I didnt once I saw the hit sprites)
This is what I'd call a high deflection shot.
-
The only pic that gives us any evidence is the one where we can see Bodhi's plane.
Nice ho.
;)
-
Agreed, nice ho
;)
-
Ho dey! :rock
-
Na tech hes right... A ho is a direct head on shot, meaning you are level and are heading in the exact same direction opposite to the other guy
--> ------ <----
thats a ho
What he did was a high deflection shot, so hes correct because he had to pull his nose up or down to fire. He wasnt at the same angle or alt so its not a ho...by book standards....
-
I don't know how anyone can stand those freakin luftwaffle gunsights.

infact a HO is anytime where both aircraft have a gun solution. flight paths and angles can be different especially when you consider that the angle of the gunsite is often elevated above the aircraft's angle of attack during most situations. also considering net lag and differing front end displays you are unable to say high deflection and be sure that is what the other player saw.
-
HO, high deflection shot....both lead to the same thing....jousting and collisions.
Whatever happend to dogfighting? The part where you earn your opponent's six?
Shotem up! No dogfighting needed with people gunning the way this guy is.
I say it's a HO. Bodhi didn't want to play the jousting game, so he could have been trying to avoid a collision from the get go.
1 man's ho/collision avoidance is another man's "high deflection" shot.
Earn your opponents six before thinking about shooting him.
Earn your kill.
See 4th link in my signature for a better explanation.

ho ho ho!

Ok ... post the friggin' film where you have that "skillful dogfight" involving nothing but side-slips, throttle-cuts and flap-drops to try to maintain that one and only acceptable six o'clock shot while both of you constantly face the same direction to avoid one or the other whining "Nice HO!" :D

LOL! You should practice what you preach sometime.

Ladies and Gents, Not just any old Ho
We have a spray and pray Ho here
-
was it a 2v1? Looks like a burst of tracers from someone with obvious bad aim trying to cherry pick Arlo.
ack-ack
-
Well Motherland, I guess your now the only one in the game that HOs now. :lol
-
I don't see a deflection in those pics, so IMO its a HO -but I don't care!
Good shot Motherland! :aok

Hey, my aim's so bad I cherrypick myself. But I *still* wanna see that "perfect" dogfight (actual dogfight ... measured in minutes not nanoseconds) where high deflection just doesn't ever happen and two opponents always face the same direction before one or the other slides into that one and only acceptable position ... fifty yards off the six, identical headings, identical pitch, etc. ;) :devil
-
Does it really matter? Someone got deaded so let them whine until the cows come home. :cry
-
that is definetly a HO, both planes with gunsolution. Now comes the part where we have to accept a HO was comitted. Was this is complete, we can begin the healing process.

I have a many of those, or did before I deleted 800 films. I may have some on this new batch of films, but it is the only way I like to fight.....for the complete and total ownage of the saddle! I will often just follow the gella around for a bit just to see if he can shake me. :rock

Deleted or not, the films aren't perfect, either. If you were in any kind of dogfight with an opponent evenly matched and you claim that your opponent never had an HD opportunity (especially based on nothing more than your frontend perspective) then I think your monitor and/or SA is broken. ;)
-
Thats a HO in my book.
Just peeved me especially when you had an immediate 2 to 1 advantage, with three more 109's less than 3k out coming to join too... here nor there, it's a game.
-
was a HO but just barely. if bodhi had not checked fire you woud be dead Bubi. looks like a nice reversal bodhi

I think I had the best 1 on 1 fight with u so far Kermit in the Special events arena after FSO. Betty thought she was gonna sucker me into me getting slaughtered by ya in the 109's hehehe. <S>

Here you go Arlo, two perfect examples. It is not a myth, some folk do actualy have the restraint to wait for a better shot.

please watch the film, its only 2 mins.

In the time before that, Bodhi was lined up on a squaddy, I came in to help. I couldnt get there in time, and bodhi popped my squaddy (Zud). He then broke (of course), but happened to break in my direction (probably didnt know I was there...) I was already RTB, as I was in a heavy 190F8 (I had dropped my bomb at that point, but was still carrying rockets) and the odds were starting to turn against me (no matter what the rest of you would have done, I was not going to stick around on the deck in a heavy 190). I was already turned inward to saddle up on Bodhi, I had the shot, it didnt look like he had a solution on me at the moment I pulled the trigger, and I shot. It was pretty close though.

Actually, that was Zud. It was Zud and VonMessa vs. you when 5 of JG11 were in 109's the sortie before. You were running from the Niki and came at us from behind, remember? Then, once you put nose down and run (same exact thing I would have done in that situation) we chased you for a bit, then Stampf, Vater and I turned back and Zud and Messa continued to chase you. I didnt realise Zud was still down there so I turned back around to help VonMessa, but you were already dead when I got there, though I was close enough to see Zud's ho against you. In that situation, I would have been just as frustrated as you, honestly.
I honestly would not have brought this up if not for this-

Maybe later. "Waiting" for a "better" shot is optional. :D

you asked and i supplied you with just that exact dogfight. but maybe later works too.

I've been flying without vulching/ho'n for YEARS.
I've said that many times for many years now.
And again, Alro, see my 4th link in my signature.

Motherland, two deaths in a row, to two HO's when you guys had me seriously outnumbered peeved me a bit more than it should have. The fact that it came both times from you guys just set me off further.
I should not have made the comment and been a grown up about it. Instead, I insulted you. I apologise for that.
-
I apologise for that.
Well, then, I'll have to apologise for my 'HO' too.

Don't think I don't care. I can't watch AH movies at work. Just post to AH buds. :D

someone ring the boss! :D
(wait, i hope ur not the boss)
:noid
*puts head down makes to look like working*
-
I just wish people would learn to accept their deaths whether it was a HO or not. The fact of matter is that someone dies and someone lives, no matter how it was done you're still dead.

Actually the secret is, that as far as we know, not one single player has died while playing the game Aces High.
My K/D i perfect :)
Since no one is dying and planes are free, why not mix it up a bit and have some fun. In the end you can't lose by having fun :aok
-
I'm just talking about people whining about a "virtual" death in "cartoon" aircraft :)

I have wondered this before....seeing how people get so worked up while playing the game, and I have also at times. I am sure folks blood pressure rises......adrenalin gets pumping......blood vessels pop out of their forehead and neck.....then every cuss word combination is flung from their mouth onto the monitor while trying to put it into text across 200 or PM to dish out the worst toungue-lashing, skull-dragging, size 10 1/2 planting session they had ever experienced!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!....... Anyhow, wonder if anyone every had a heart attack or stroke because of it?
