$109 Million in income over the past 7 years???
Does that sound appropriate? It works out to about $1.3 Million a month. Or does that much money seem a bit fishy to you??
Their last public return that they had previously released was for the year 2000, when they only made $413,000, or about $34,400 a month.
Here is a link to details about their tax returns:

We should expect your tax returns to posted when again?

When he runs for public office.

The news this evening broke it down. they got it in 3 large chunks. The books each wrote got about half of it and billybob got almost 51 mill from speeches. That's some real expensive BS there.

"Appropriate"? Is this Soviet Union? There's a lot of money to be made in speaking engagements, investments, etc. And did you notice that little real estate boom in that period?
"Appropriate".... </disgust> This is America, if we can make good money, then way to go.

Glok sounds like a real socialist. He has some real issues with what companies and individuals make in income and profits.

Why would it not be appropriate? he's not the president anymore.
If you want to ask what isn't appropriate.. why not look at all the money Cheney and Bush have made since they have been in office.
This is from 2006...
President Bush and his wife, Laura, had assets valued between $7.2 million and $20.9 million last year, up from as much as $18.1 million a year earlier, annual disclosure forms released last night showed.
Vice President Cheney disclosed a portfolio worth as much as $94.6 million in 2005.

Something fun to do would be to find out who the first president was to take money from speech's/endorsements.

Cheney has actually held real world jobs, however.

You forget, though, what Jesus has said about being wealthy.
I have seen more info now in the press, and it looks like the Clintons have been very responsible lately, and have been generous to charities. Last year they earned $20.5 Million, and paid $5.1 Million in Federal Income Taxes alone. And they gave over $3 Million to Charity last year.
However, of the total $109 Million, only $10.2 Million has been put into this Foundation that they formed for donating to Charities. And only half of that ten million has been spent so far, with most of that being the $3 Million that they gave away last year.
It would seem like they suddenly became much more charitable people, now that Hillary has been running for the Presidency. Perhaps I am being too cynical here, though.
Maybe the Clintons will be able to enter heaven after all. President Bush, though, may very well be damned. Although I do remember him giving $10,000 to victims of that huge Tsunami back in 2005. And he has called upon all Americans to donate 4,000 hours during their lifetime to working for the public good. Whether it is in a public program like the Peace Corps, or for a private charity. God will have to weigh all of these good deeds, with all of his screw-ups.

He just made a trip to numerous nations in the Middle East, and spoke to the leaders of several key nations.
This was covered extensively in the news for several days, so I am surprised that you did not hear about it.
Here he is with the President of Afghanistan:

And here he is with the Prime Minister of Israel:

They aren't paying that much just to hear him talk. They're paying to talk to him; in other words access.

Some questions have risen as to the following:
All charitable donations in '06 were to Clinton Foundation...
$18 million dollars unaccounted for...
Hmmmmm...the Clintons dishonest? Say it isn't so! :lol

Cheney has actually held real world jobs, however.
Yes and it's quite ironic, that he was the VP of Haliburton and look how much that company has grown since Cheney has been VP of the US. I guess it's just pure luck that Cheney set up the deal for the VA hospitals for a Halliburton subsidiary company.. (we all know how that turned out) It's also dumb luck that Halliburton is the company that has benefited the most from the Iraq war. Of course there is nothing shady going on...
Who needs lobbyist these days, when you can insert the company man directly into the white house..

That's standard operating procedure for people with that much money.. As the topic stated they made most of this money in the last 7 years. So of course that mean they are suddenly going to start giving more money to charity. It's very simple either pay it to the man in taxes or give it away to help others.
Hell even Darth Vader Cheney has given a bunch in Charity since he's been VP.. In 2006 his reported income was almost 9 million yet he gave roughly 7 million away to charity. Not sure what was up with that, he must of been trying to buy out his bad karma.

You miss the entire racket...because you think like that.
Halliburton doesn't do every thing in Iraq under one company. They get awarded contracts then give the contract to a child company who then gives it to another child company. It's not just one giant company that no one else could compete with, they use many shell companies that are much smaller.
However Im' quite sure there are many companies whom could give our soldiers dirty water to drink or send a mail truck from base to base with only one bag of mail.. just because they make more money that way.

So there were other companies that wanted to do what they do over there but were denied?

Have you ever seen any bids take place? No you haven't.. that's why call them "no bid" contracts. Hence the reason Halliburton has no competition.
There are many US companies that can Handel base operations contracts. You think Halliburton does them all here in the US? No they don't, because there is open bidding on them with public scrutiny. Yet Halliburton is the only on that gets them in Iraq with no bids and no open books for the the tax payers to see.

Find me the names of those companies that really wanted the jobs or even do the specialty work.

Just as I thought.

Well Cheney must have done something wrong. After all, CBS says everybody hates Britney Spears and Dick Cheney! They're so uncool and unchanged. So there. :huh
-
Just as I thought.
No you are exactly what I thought.. you don't give a crap about any info I would post. You don't care about it, because if you did and you really wanted to know.. You would research this on your own. You wouldn't depend on some guy on a forum spoon feeding you info. So why should I waste my time doing research and spoon feeding you info that you don't care about?
You just want to argue on a message board because you have made up your mind and nothing is ever gonna change it.
It's very simple.. if you do research on base operation contracts here in the US, you "will" find there are many contractors that "do" bid on these contracts and "do" want them. The only difference about the contracts in Iraq, is these contractors are not allowed to bid on them because they are given to Haliburton via no bid.
If you support that BS you damn sure don't belive in a free market. You might as well go join the commies in China.

Sorry, that's just not the case. Do a simple google search and you'll easily find contracts awarded (after having been bid) to other companies who are now (and have been for a long time) in Iraq. It's easy for anyone with a grudge against Halliburton/Cheney to say something like that; it's just not the truth though.
Many, many contracts have been awarded over there. Many, many contracts have gone to companies other than Halliburton.
*edit* oh, I see the back & forth about not finding information to post, so I guess you can disregard.
But off hand, I could probably name more than 100 contract companies (not including Halliburton/KBR), all of which are there as a result of having bid on contracts.

Yes there are other companies, but most of them are subsidiaries of Halliburton.. KBR for example is one of them.
-
Cheney got a gazillion dollars and divested himself of Halliburton nearly a decade ago, and it's not their fault they are bigger than all the other companies combined in their area of expertise. Get over it(http://chat.anncoulter.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/155.gif)
Is that all they talk about on Daily Kos? It's like complaining that the government buys airplanes from Boeing
<edit: Fergot-- KBR is no longer part part of the evil empire, about a year now--someone at the Kos needs to be informed>

You know Hillary keeps saying she is going to tax excess profits of about every successful business. Maybe she should pay about 90 million in taxes this year for excess profits.
:rofl
PS. I think she invested in all those businesses she is attacking.
