I generally find that many low-budget films made today are better than what Hollywood produces these days. This is especially true for certain genres like sci-fi and horror.
I’ve recently seen the new British produced horror flick “Outpost”. It’s pretty low budget; straight to DVD and as for quality of production it is similar to “Dog Soldiers” and “28 Days Later”.
I loved it.

The story is pretty good, but not mindblowingly original. The acting is good … at times great even, and the director gets a lot out of a small budget. I really liked the firefight scenes; the mercs used cover and small-unit tactics, and was for the most part (though not always) believable as professional soldiers. The actors were obviously instructed by someone who knew the “business”.
In many ways “Outpost” is similar to “The Bunker”, another good horror flick if you’re a WWII aficionado.

So, are there other WWII-themed horror flicks out there worth watching?

Thanks for the heads-up!
In my teenage years, I enjoyed F. Paul Wilson's book The Keep http://www.amazon.com/Keep-Adversary-Cycle-Paul-Wilson/dp/0765357054 (http://www.amazon.com/Keep-Adversary-Cycle-Paul-Wilson/dp/0765357054). Avoid Michael Mann's movie adaptation of the book at all costs, it was a disaster.
edit: yeah, the one movie Dux posted!

Sounds intriguing!

"The Bunker (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0252963/)". Good flick.

Try " Castle Keep ". Not strictly a horror film, but very strange movie with some great WWII action.

The first film that came to mind when I read the thread title. Have not read the book. As is often the case, had I done so before seeing the movie I might have approached the film version with a bias towards the original written work and come away very dissapointed instead. But... I didn't.

Lumpy, - just read a horror story (well ghost stuff actually) which had roots in Britain in 1943.
It was creepy, addictive, and mean. But the read was one heck of a ride,,,,,,wwwhhhoooooooo!
From James Herbert (author of i.e. "The Fog" and "Haunted") it's called "The Secret of Crickley Hall" and has the ISBN of 978-0-330-45210-6.

In 1917, in the Western front, a group of survivors of the British Company Y reach the most forward
German trench in a foggy night...
ok not a WW2 movie, but WW1, maybe like it to see it anyway:
Deathwatch (2002)
also know as "No Man's Land " or "WWI Trench Horror".

Looks really interesting Gh0stFT. Thanks!

Not many spring to mind. I guess war has enough horror on it's own, compared to, say, a summer camp with the young counselors. Heavy Metal has the segment with the B-17 and the airplane graveyard.
Not movies, but...
Anyone remember the "Wierd War Tales" comics of the 1970s? Ghost Boat was a great horror book with a WW2 US submarine theme. They did make a movie later, but set it on a lost liner. Thought the movie was OK.

More then one Twilight Zone episode comes to mind.
The one with the downed B25 in the desert, based on Lady Be Good
The one with the Submarine found postwar where it sounds like people are pounding on the inside and one of the guys above goes nuts.
The National Guard tank crew and ends up at Little Bighorn
The one where the US Officer leading an attack on a Japanese held cave, switches spots with the Japanese Lt.
Not horror I suppose, but spooky
The Keep was first that came to mind though.

I remember that one. I believe it was Outer Limits though.
