I predict it will be with China over oil drilling rights.

WMDs?

USA should start drilling oil at ANWAR, and Gulf of Mex or else PRC will move in right away.
-
Cuba, on the behest of the PRC, has already begun drilling the oil reserves in the Gulf of Mexico.

dang (face palm)
Is it CNOOC doing the job?

If you're going to spread this nonsense here and turn the O'Club into the National Enquirer, let's go all the way. It was Elvis and JFK who made a contract with aliens and are already drilling in the Bermuda Triangle.

Drilling is under way 60 miles off Florida. The drilling is being done by China, in cooperation with Cuba, which is drilling closer to South Florida than U.S. companies are.

Check around a little and you'll see that the story was a myth. ;)

There is some truth to the matter of Chinese/Cuban oil exploration. Basically it boils down to the fact that while there is not currently oil rigs 40 or 50 miles off our coast, there certainly could be.

Maybe it's going to be inside the USA?

Now Angus is a thinker.

Next major conflict will be the dissolution of the US into the white states and hispanic states. Industrious White people who get tired of supporting all the leeches will rebel and form their own country, surrendering much of the southwest and California to the mexicans and others who want to live off socialism. A new nation will be formed on the archaic notion that people should be self reliant. Hey, a guy can dream can't he?

I actually think the next war will either be WW3, or some major conflict like Vietnam. Why? Because people are stupid. That's the truth.

Industrious people of all nations would be welcome, I'd imagine. Let the slackers and socialists live in what was once SoCal and Arizona.

most likely right

Next major conflict will probably be here. Remember many factions of the muslim faith declared war when we entered Iraq. They will stay and continue to fight as long as we are there. When we pull out, if peace has not been made, then with the "land free of infidels" They will come here.
I know thats a bit serious but what I believe.

Profound indeed.
What of the air conditioning unit? Must it suffer the same fate? And if so when? How? Why?!

i must say this is absurd, you come to my house to fight you will not leave alive!
the better way is " I will not go to war until war comes to me!!"
but no not in this country, we are to busy telling every body else how to live, when we cannot even take care of our own.

And why are people stupid? Let me tell you that, because they don't read history.

And why are people stupid? Let me tell you that, because they don't read history.
Exactly. I was watching a Pearl Harbor video on YouTube the other day, and I actually came acrossed a comment someone posted that said "Why did the Germans attack Pearl harbor?" and another one where someone said that the Japanese pilots were CIA people wearing Japanese symbols just so we could attack Japan. People are just plain stupid.

It's also fact that money rule the world, you need to know that to even understand the basics of how the world works. Additionally, politicians have limited influence as to what decisions and routes to take for their country, they can only do what is within their financial limits. Thus the banks rule the world, if not completely, to a large extent and much larger than what your average citizen would know to suspect.

Let's just hope that the conflict is big enough that the draft is re-instated, and AquaShrimp is drafted(and the liberal likes). :devil

Here are some things to consider on potential US/China conflict. Individually these things are insignificant but they do show a pattern. Remember China unlike the US has a stable leader. They do not change policies with every administration.
1. 2001 China increases defense budget, citing world destabilisation. Continues to increase defense budget. Most of the increases are paid for by the US/China trade deficit.
2 China holds a US Navy P3 Orion for weeks(3?) and interrogates crew.
3. Chinese companies shipping to US are highly subsidised creating an economic advantage over US companies. Destabilising influence on US economy.
4. China builds (completion date 2008/9) huge auto plant in Mexico using loophole in NAFTA treaty. Estimated 100,000 trucks will be produced and shipped to US. An estimated $200-300 per vehicle customs dues not collected.
5. China shoots down US satellite with a laser.
6 North Korea suddenly stops nuclear threats and agrees to meet with US. (China ally) Timing was curious. Why all of a sudden? Was timing not right for bigger picture?
7. Taiwan. Severe sore spot.
8. China holds high level meetings with Iran. (presumed oil talks)
9. China's need for oil is growing astronomically. (as is rest of developing world) Best optimistic projection of oil production peak 2029.
10. Economic surplus is giving China a lot of hard currency. Currency for expansion, defense spending etc.
China will not attack outright but they will use intermediaries to spread out our defenses. Causing further weakness of the US economy. North Korea and Iran may both play a part. An attack on South Korea or a US interest may be the start. China will cite need to defend ally as reason to attack (least probable)or most probablythey may simply supply aid in form of troops/weapons/cash. They may be backing Iran now. China needs a foothold in the gulf.
China and the Russia are traditional enemies. However they may both feel the need to cooperate against US interests. Russia has some oil. But there are hard liners that do not like the move to democracy or the influence of the US.

We're in it. But it doesnt include bullets or any kind of military weapontry. IEDs, explosives or acts of terrorism
And at the moment.
We are loosing.
-
Here's what the current USA foreign policy lacks...
Soft Power
PRC is using it to its advantage.
USA has been using Hard Power since 2003 and favorable opinion of the US drops~
-
and another one where someone said that the Japanese pilots were CIA people wearing Japanese symbols just so we could attack Japan. People are just plain stupid.
Pretty neat trick considering the CIA didnt come into being untill 1947.
Prior to the we had the OSS
-
We're in it. But it doesnt include bullets or any kind of military weapontry. IEDs, explosives or acts of terrorism

Given that if either side launched ballistic missiles the other side would have to conclude they were nuclear and react accordingly. This would preclude any long range attacks. The US Navy would control the sea so an invasion of US soil would not happen. On the other hand the US politically would not be able to withstand the casualties that would result from an invasion of China. On land the Chinese would have the advantage in numbers but the disadvantage in technology. So any armed conflict would take the place of a third party such as North Korea or Iran.
Now if you accept that premise, consider that 40% of our national budget goes for servicing our debt, it won't take a genius to figure out that our economy is our strength and our weakness. We have the potential to manufacture vast material for war. In a nuclear war the ability to manufacture is of little value. It comes down to what you have in the two hour launch window. After that its simply survivors.
A peace time economic assault done over a number of years would be effective. We have a Congress that has over 600 members. There is no strategic national trade plan. Every member of Congress can negotiate a trade bill. Most of the debate over trade bills is just partisan bickering.
So if your China and you want the US on the ropes just negotiate win/loss trade bills. Set up a few PAC's and get your lobbyists to work. Congress will gladly follow the money.
Use North Korea or any belligerent state to get the US military spread out protecting assets, burning up material, personnel. Exploit the liberal trade US trade rules until the trade deficit becomes unmanageable. With a lack of hard currency the US has to cut spending on domestic programs and its military. A devalued dollar and servicing the national debt is problematic. Cutbacks in domestic and military spending and the US Navy, which China has no counter punch for is neutralized.

The OSS helped Ho Chi Min kick the Japs out of China. The CIA assisted bin Laden In his mission against the infidel communists in Afghanistsan. It might be useful to Know who the CIA are helping right now. ;)

Tell that to Iraq
You are assuming that the US have won? Won what? A few thousand bodies in caskets, plus oil rights in Iraq? Who's the winner?
-
You are assuming that the US have won? Won what? A few thousand bodies in caskets, plus oil rights in Iraq? Who's the winner?
In the army versus army engagement, the US crushed Iraq unequivically.
The fact that we cannot eradicate the partisans is another matter, and has plagued every major military from the Romans, all the way up to the Empire in Star Wars. Beating an enemy physically is a technological task, and was executed efficiently. Ending the resistence is an ideological task, and no technology has proven effective in this.
-
Ending the resistence is an ideological task, and no technology has proven effective in this.
THIS proves my point. technology doesn't win. if we were to go in there in more numbers, with no binding rules of engagement, then the remaining resistance will be quelled too.
numbers win wars.

CAP, I believe I read somewhere that the "binding rules of engagement" are part of the way to win ideallogically, as well as militarily. I mean, you can fight a resistance the same way the Gestapo did during WWII. But look at how that turned out for the Nazi's.
-
Bottom line is that wars are just bs made up by politicians and the real powers above them (not god, mind you). For people (doesn't matter which country you live in) there is no such thing as winning a war. This has been going on for hundreds of years.

Perhaps he refuses to accept that winnings in land/position/natural resources can be equated to the lives it takes to attain them. Most leaders are forced to reduce human death tolls to economic costs. Those of us who enjoy moral elevation do not have to make such decisions, as we are never faced with them.

Sure, I dig. I never said that wars are unwinnable, just trying to articulate what I think the other guy meant when he said it.

If you believe that to be moral elevation, you are wrong and mislead. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with your opinion, but there is so much more to it than that.

I believe that war is a tool of last resort, used to effect political agenda when all other avenues have been exhausted or proven ineffective. In that respect, yes, you are right, there is no winner because the decision to go to war is already, in and of itself, a compromise. However, once that compromise has been accepted, and the engagement begins, there can be a winner and a loser... Or, if you prefer, a big loser and a small loser.

I believe that war is a instrument of economical gain (=power), used to effect financial agenda when all other avenues have been exhausted or proven ineffective. In that respect, yes, you are right, there is no winner because the people who go to war is always dying. However, once that agenda has been accepted by the people, and the engagement begins, there can be a winner and a loser... Or, if you prefer, a big loser and a small loser, as percieved and explained to you by the media.

A site i found debunking zeitgeist.
Worth reading, so you don't believe and repeat without at least seeing another side.
-
Reading it, by the look of it it will take longer to read than the movie takes to watch. :lol
Jeez it will take time because in order to verify what he quote is correct, one has to watch the film at the same time. :(
-
"These fires surely weakened any metal that was in the building, especially the primary truss for its open lobby design."
This is simply not true. :lol
Talk to a construction engineer about the quality of metal used in tall building core structure, and fires.
If I am to question the zeitgeist movie (which is not entirely true) I also have to question this guy, why is he doing this in the first place?
"Just like the Twin Towers, there are not many ways tall, large buildings can fall, except directly down." This is to avoid what the movie maker concludes about building 7, that it was brought down by explosives.
"The film goes on to claim that in the 9/11 Commission report, building seven is "not mention[ed] at all". I guess they assume (probably correctly) that the viewer did not actually read it. I, however, have read it and I remember reading various things about building seven. Unfortunately for them, it is mentioned on pages 301, 310, 319, and 322 (twice)"
Then why does he not quote what it says? If it's that important and dismiss any doubt as to why the building came down.
I could go on... but don't care really. This guy, while some of it is true, is also lying. End conclusion is that you can't completely write off either of these guys. The important thing to remember though is, what is fact? Melting temperatures of steel is pretty much fact, is it not? Construction engineering is science, is it not?
I tend to believe the construction engineer when he says that the structure they designed could withstand several airline crashes without collapsing.
-
There are plenty of videos and web pages that debunk the 9/11 "truthers" conspiracy theories, including building 7 and the steel losing it's strength from heat.
When i was working in the air conditioning field i used to have to heat up copper tubing regularly. Before it was heated it took alot of effort to squish the end with a pair of pliers. When it becomes hot, well below its melting point, you can squish the end with very little effort and braze it shut.
I think this guy, who i honestly don't know to much about, was just trying to make the point that if zeitgiest is being promoted as fact with so many holes and lies in the story, how can any of it really be taken seriously.
A friend of mine who was a conservative around this time last year, has been bombarding me with this conspiracy stuff since january, so when i'm bored i like to look up stuff to debunk his theories, and send them to him. He really gets mad which is funny.
Anyway, I believe American Civil War part 2 is going to happen before the end of this century. When it does, i wonder what effect it will have on the rest of the world. Other countries might try and kick us while we're down causing WWIII.
-
Or they just won't bother with the US and only furhter their own agendas in other parts of the world. If the US have a civil war, that will take them off the global stage for the duration of it. There are plenty of countries that could take advantage of that.
-
you people still believe the towers were taken down by those who our "Government" say?
building 7 was purposely "pulled" the owner of the buildings said so himself, due to "fire damage"
the only skyscrapers to ever fall from fire, are the towers. i saw a building (tower) in china or japan(cant remember which) that burned for days, the entire building was ablaze, guess what? it never "collapsed" and there are a few instances of that!
do a search on burning skyscrapers and see for yourself.
this government wants its people to believe what ever they say, they have LIED to us so many times, and have murdered there own people, and now they are doing the same thing for oil, wake the F#$k up!!
or dont, and live as a robot, cause thats all you are!!
our constatution says "when the government fails to do its job correctly its the American people OBLIGATION to stand up and put into place a new one that will..."
well i say murdering its own people is "not doing its job correctly" murdering other people for money is also a crime they should be prosecuted for.
but then again when the majority of the populace are robots there seat is pretty well safe.
do you people realize how much a senator or a seat holder makes? how about over 150,000 K a year.
when they work around 90 days of that year.
there is something seriously wrong with that, and when there own people are ok with that im flabbergasted.
for me i would rather eat a rat burger knowing its a rat burger, instead of someone telling me its prime beef, when in reality its just crap flavored to taste like prime beef.
flame away.

Chuckle away in your bubble of denial. I care not for your opinion, it doesn't bother me. All I want is to make people think for themselves. What you think is as irrelevant to me as it is to the vast majority of people on this planet.
Flinging poo? Speak for yourself.

GUILTY!!
fixed it for you...
psps: "bubble of denial" :snicker: good stuff.

What really makes me chuckle is your attitude, and how you camped the bbs for my reply. I have no interest in dealing with people like you and will not comment your posts further as you are targeting me specifically, only looking to discredit me. I will not comment on your motives for this, as you should know them well enough yourself, but your real problem(s?) clearly is not me. If you fail to realize that, not my problem either.

I agree that our constitution especially the 2nd, was put in place in order for the people to stay individualistic and free thinking, and to have the ability to do away with a tyrinical govt. if need be.
I'm not a fan of the way our govt is or has been running things, but i also don't believe that they murdered there own people in an elaborate cover up.
You can if you want though..... It's still a free county.

The accusation that the U.S. government master-minded the 9/11 attack is the most stupendously irrational, vile, contemptible bit of nonsense ever concocted by the mind of a political fanatic.

I think you missed the point. Its not whether the US can win a conventional ground war with China. Can the US politically withstand mass casualties. Experience since world war 2 says no. Much would depend on how the war was started. What is the support level in the US by the populace? Is their widespread support?
-
Way too many variables to reduce it to a single 1-paragraph post on this forum, imo.
-
Can the US politically withstand mass casualties.
If we were fighitng for survival, yep.
-
vs Persia and its allies
-
If we were fighitng for survival, yep.
It really isn't a matter of whether the US is fighting for survival or not. It's a matter of whether the population think they are fighting for survival or not.

huh?
When your mothers brothers aunts and uncles are all fighting or dead, its something most people would know at that point.
Rape, pillage, plunder, fire, slaughter.
You know, all those obvious things war brings. :huh

What you are bringing up as an example is a obvious case. What I brought up is different from that. You'll figure it out sooner or later.
