lol last time I played think it was Saturday the Rooks were on a "win the war" rage trying to take all of TT.. Supposedly to get a new map in orange, was the excuse. I just logged in to see the map was reset sometime since I played back to the same map again.
That's called Karma for trying to take TT island.. :rofl :rofl :rofl Told you tards to leave TT alone.

Map wasn't won. And Sudz did a restart the server today.

Yea I figured this much.. Told the tards Saturday that no one ever wins that map by taking TT. Was the typical, win the war types thinking they can take TT and that will force the furballers into helping them win the map. lol when will they ever learn. :lol

Bish were trying to do the same Thursday night. I porked all of the troops with the exception of one barracks at A85.
I've come to an understanding that the "inept and bottom feeders of AH" feel the need to make "excuses". Their excuses for taking TT are pathetic and pointless. There is absolutely no reason to take TT bases, other than to deliberately ruin the fun. Not to mention those wishing for a hop or two of good fights without having to go far.

Yea I don't care if the GV guys battle it out for the Vbases and capture them. There are so many Vbases and they are so close together, you can still find a GV fight on TT even if you have to roll from the A Base. It's when they start trying to capture the A bases that it really ticks me off, because it makes it next to impossible to find fast fights for the late night early morning guys.

Isn't Tank Town the small island map, where there is a town in the center of the island, with spawn points radiating towards it? This weekend map in orange was the monster island base, not really TT I don't think. Either way I didn't see it get captured, I was able to play this weekend too.
Anyway, merit for the tactic aside, all sides do it. It is not a mutually exclusive trait of any one chess piece side to capture or not capture.
Plus, if HTC didn't want those bases capture-able, they would be, well, uh, uncapture-able.

Tank town is a reference on several maps that have been made. It is just an area tankers can battle it in a close area and could have airfields near each other so guys can furball in a small area for quick fights. So TT is not 1 particular map, it's a reference to an area on certain maps.

Yea I just used TT because that's what I hear it called a lot. Some call it FT (Fighter Town) or Furball Island is another popular name and probably the best name for it.

I usually leave TT alone unless rooks or knits are trying to take it all away. Then I just take the bases that bish originally had back and go back to my own thing. :aok

make all TT bases uncapturable is the only answer, otherwise someone will always be trying to take it, because "a base is a base"

If you wanted to go that route, I would make the airfields at TT uncapturable, not all of them. Otherwise there wouldn't be a need for several V bases. You would only need one per country.

Interesting as it is, bishops tried very hard thursday to take tank town and failed - even with overwhelming horde and even NOE to rooks TT base they failed. As if bishops didn't even own 25% of rook fields yet - taking tank town fields just is rather childish - especially if your not even close to winning the war. I am waiting for the knits to try an NOE on the rook field, as bishops already sent enough CV's over :aok

I remember that thread.... Seemed like those that advocated and welcomed change were infact stagnating in the past. Capture criteria prior to this present day one.
On a side bar I actually liked the field by field (linked) progressive capture criteria. Don't think it lasted more than 1 tour before it was dropped. To me that was innovative to bring the strat / furballer player together.
At the time I think I was against but on reflection it was the best idea. I think why I didn't enitially like it was HTC was "brain storming" us with to many idea's after the arena split. Those were big battles / captures at peak time but near impossible off peak.

I wasn't on thursday night but two things in AH that really pee me off is planes bombing tanks at tank town and planes bombing hangers when we had fighter towns! Nothing worse than upping at tank town and only find more enemies in the air than on the ground. I won't even entertain the thought of taking bases in tank town as it's a complete let down for those who were wanting to up some GV's and have some fun. Actually I couldn't care less who wins the blasted war.

Honestly I dont mind the Low level buffs as they present a great target for practice - however the lanc stukas that roll off the asembly line to carpet bomb GV's are pretty lame. But then again it just gives me a reason to dust off a 262.

One could also argue the same about flacks shooting down planes at TT. So that really goes both ways, because I've seen it countless times where players in flacks drive out to where they know planes will be low in the furballs and start shooting them.

Some call it or rather it's known as "Fighter Town". The game isn't by contrast called Aces Low.

Can & can't agree on both. If it's attack aircraft including Ju88's then all's fair but medium and heavy bombers ....what a joke.
As for hanger banging I can't get me head round that as a primary target....it's a last ditch senerio to stop a capture or take a well defended field. To many newbies don't realise the hangers regain every 15 min.
If it's a capture BOMB the FREAKIN town ESPECIALLY when the field is capped.

This is where I disagree. The Community should have the decency to prevent this from happening in the first place. Running to HT for this is pointless if the simplest solution is to LEAVE IT ALONE in the first place.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on this, but when they introduced the notion of "un-capturable" bases, for the life me, I could not understand why they didn't choose the 3 airbases that encircle TT as un-capturable ... especially on the OZKansas map. That surely would have put an end to posts on this subject.

I agree.. but sad to say.. the "community" doesnt have the decency.. for that or alot of other things (insert HOing, Stickstirring, etc etcetce here). its been proven time and time again, if it CAN be done, it WILL be done, regardless if it SHOULD be done or not. :frown:

ACTUALLY, about 80% of the Community has the decency, but they typically crawl in a hole as this is happening in game. Same goes for "squelching the idiots". Squelching them is putting a band-aid on the bigger problem. The Problem? The Silent Majority.

You know why communism didn't work....human nature. Haves, have nots, I wants, etc.....same here.
So unless your gonna check every newbie in at the door ....it ain't happening. Like so many have said before & here. Uncapturable TT bases would stop it. That'll fall on the same ears as F6 view to drop bombs from heavies....good luck.

I'll tell why THIS new guy bombs tank town with B-17's.. To get a little PAYBACK against "The Community" that likes turning CV's while I'm tryin to take off the flightdeck. Then turns around and tells me I gotta "practice" more to compensate for it. Try this for a solution. Don't PISS ANYONE OFF and maybe everybody will leave TT alone. Otherwise you can just "practice" jumping out your tanks when you see the bombers and dodging AA fire from Wirbles. How's that ?

I respectfully suggest that you think about what you just posted. Tank Town is for ground vehicles and shouldn't have aircraft there. It's a place for ground vehicles to furball. The only reason that flaks and whirbles are there is because of the amount of aircraft that continually bomb and strafe the GV's and bomb the vehicle hangers so the GV's can't up. I've never believed in buffs and GV's at fighter town (when there was one) and don't believe in fighters and buffs at tank town.

Well this is an entirely new piece of work here. You are miffed because a cv turned as you were upping? Usually there are two things that make a CV turn and that is an attack inbound or the CV is on auto pilot (no human has command of it). Don't Miff anyone off? Now there is a great one! How you supposed to kill the cartoon persona of folks playing and not miff them off? Inquiring minds wanna know. hehehehe Perhaps you should play a game that has no players to play against so they can't be miffed off. Oh and somebody correct me if I'm wrong here but I believe that HT himself once stated that one of the objects of this game is to miff off the other person.

So ... someone, who is a friendly, who turns the CV on purpose, just to screw you up, causes you to go bomb tank town for PAYBACK ... even tho you can't bomb nor kill the friendly or friendlies that caused you to get PISSED off.
Great application of logic there ...

Umm, when somebody turns the CV, you go full flaps and then try to keep your plane with it.
-
Umm, when somebody turns the CV, you go full flaps and then try to keep your plane with it.
That is way too much to ask of him ... it would require too much effort and some practice.
He would like to see CVs stop turning as soon as he spawns onto the deck and he would like to see CVs stop turning when you are on final and a certain distance from the CV ... regardless if there is a formation of bombers near by trying to line up to sink the CV.

That is an interesting question, and one could only speculate on the answer to that. I think if we approach the question from the negative though, there are a few deductions we can make towards a conclusion.
-We can be sure it is not due to lack of posts or opinions on this issue, of which there are plenty. In other words, that HTC simply doesn’t know about the issue and hasn’t acted on it.
-We can be reasonably sure that software changes to make any given base a non capture (all TT bases) would not be unduly difficult for HTC to accomplish, should they want to.
-There is no conclusive evidence that 80% of players feel one way or another about anything, a dubious assertion at best. My guess would be 80% of players could give a rats one way or another regarding TT captures.
-If HTC wanted to, they could easily create an arena dedicated only to TT style of play. 3 bases, 3 spawns, no captures. Have at it.
So, that leads me to believe that HTC does not make the TT bases non capture because they DO NOT WANT to make them that way. What is more, doing so is probably not in keeping with the creators’ (HTC) vision of the strategic component of game play.
I think it is HILARIOUS when TT island is captured, even when it is the enemy team who does it. It’s great that there is organized play, attacking and capturing heavily defended bases (Which TT bases usually are, as opposed to undefended bases). And it happens ALL the time, and by every side, usually on their way to winning the map too. Then the inevitable squeaks on 200…you bwoke the twooce, you bwoke the TWOOCE!’ Get real.

While it maybe no big deal during the normal hours because there is generally a fight somewhere. Late at night or early mornings TT/FT can sometimes be the only place to find a fight in the wee hours. So it's disrespectful to other players that may not play at prime time.
TT/FT also tends to be the only place all three sides can fight each other. The end resualt is there is NO reason at all to take TT other than you just want to be a greifer to others that may not play your style of game play. Sure if you are close to a reset thewn take TT if it's needed, but that is hardly ever the case.

Crocket speaks the truth.
I was flying rooks tonight while they were steamrolling tanktown. Rebel and I started asking them why they would want to kill the fights at TT. A8popysd actually said that TT distracts from the base capture aspect of the game, and if I want to furball I should go to the DA  There are a ton of other bases the "toolsheders" could of had there fun and captured. They just have a problem with the Furballers, maybe its because they have no skill :rofl

I took a week off and jumped in for about 5 mins Friday night to see they finally took TT island in orange. Flew tonight and looks like they were really on their way to re-setting the map. They only need about 38% more on each side to "win the war".
