after hours of playing my arms get tired of using the joystick on my desk, and i'd really like to have one between the legs where its supposed to be!
it would be great to have an x52 style setup that fits in the legs or has it built into the chair or something...
anyone see anything like this that you can purchase?
-
1) How many hours are you playing?
2) Try push-ups?
:p

This isn't the best in the world but it works.
Prior to this i actually drilled 2 holes in the chair, and would nut and bolt the stick in with a bracket, but i was drinking alot of beer at the time, so it got annoying having to unscrew it every 15 minutes.

Nothing says I'm a friendly person like having a skull on your desk :rock

I fly with a microsoft sidewinder Prec 2 usb between my legs.
But I get by without a add on throttle or all those hats, buttons bells and whistles.
But then I tend to be kind of a minimalist where mapping stuff to stick is concerned.
Easier with joystick down there to actually use the keyboard.
For full hotas, I think your best bet would be to mount everything to a board. Either hinge/attach it to your desk or chair at a comfortable height. Ideally it would be setup so you could pivot it out of the way when not using it. But stable and solid when you are.
Think OUTSIDE the box :)

lol I like the sash-cramps Speed, you can brace your elbows against them in a dive for added realism (looks about the same width as a spit cockpit) :D

I have one that I bought a few years back. It's made out of oak, and has a center platform that holds the joystick and one on the left for your throttle. Very simple but it does the job. I don't think the company is in business any longer. A lot of this kind of thing is a cottage industry.
Let me know if you are interested I can send you some pics and/ or dimensions.

I mount my joystick on the keyboard drawer (which is about 4" lower than the actual desk top).

Me too...actually very use to it. My kids broke that drawer once, so I tried playing with it on top of the desk, felt too weird
I spent a 1/2 hour using 8 2" screws to refasten that SOB.

I had the plans to the one called a H.O.T.A.S.S. around here somewhere. I will have to look on the old computer and hope that I didn't toss them in the virtual recycling bin one day while messing around with the computer. I was going to make something up for sale to the public out of tubing but the steel and aluminum pricing started going through the roof and nothing else would do for what I wanted with hidden cables and a built in USB hub. I may dust off the old plans and start over.

For something like this, I'd recommend making it yourself.

Gee ya think they could have provided a crappier view of it?
Even if you "click to enlarge" you still cant get a good look at at.
for $960
I'd want to get a good look at it first.
From that view it couple just be an old Xfighter stick attached to a broomstick with electrical tape

Im sure alot of us thought the same thing.
But Im also sure alot of us realise that the old "why did the chicken cross the road? to get to the other side" Joke was hillarious the first 4,000 times it was told too.
And that is why we didnt respond in kind.
Besides. it isnt as funny of there isnt a woman asking the question to offend with that responceLOL

I've got a moth-balled H.O.T.A.S.S. - this thread has inspired me to brave the 150-degree heat of my attic to fetch it.
As I recall, it provided a stable and comfortable platform for both throttle and stick.
There are some gamer desks out there that look pretty good, too.

My H.O.T.A.S.S. would never be mothballed, I like it right where it is :P
