Heard it on the local radio and confirmed it via news articles. Apparently, he was driving his Toyo Tires (sponsor) truck with his picture on the side of it. He then was in an accident and decided to run, in a truck with his picture on the side of it. Did I mention there was a picture of him on the side of it?

That's unfortunate. I thought he was doing a decent job of representing the sport, up until now.
We'll see what happens to him. Unlike what you see in football, baseball, or basketball, Dana White has actually brought real consequences down upon UFC fighters who act in a felonious or embarassing manner.

Yeah the UFC doesn't like unprofessional/thuggish/criminal fighters who give them a bad name. I bet we see some serious consequences.

In my personal opinion the UFC hasn't done enough to detour that kind of behavior. like when Chuck Liddell showed up drunk to that ABC interview in Texas. The UFC will only take action when it benefits them. I.E. Babalu. Maby when fighters(and not the Anderson Silvia, BJ Penn types) get paid what they deserve we Will see some actual change in this sport.
There is a reason why Randy Couture gave up his belt and they couldn't get the number 1 fighter in the world Fedor Emelianenko.

and nothing will happen to Rampage. Nothing happened to Leben when he had to miss a fight because he was in jail for a probation violation. They just moved his fight back and lined up a new opponent... and that's Chris Leben. He's not a headliner.

I don't believe for one moment than randy left because of money. This a 45 year old aging athlete at the end of his carear who rightfully wanted to fight the best in MMA. Once the UFC couldn't sight Fedor he went through other means to make sure that fight will happen.

Or a 45 year old aging athlete at the end of his career who wanted a fat paycheck to fight the supposed pound for pound king (who hadn't fought anybody worth mentioning in 3 years). To end his contract, all he had to do was take 1 more fight. It probably would've been Noguirea. After that, he'd of been free to do whatever he wanted.

if all he wanted was money then he wouldn't go to another promotion (looks like it's gunna be Affliction) and get less money. All he cares about is fighting the best. Fedor is still the best until he gets beat.

I've never really cared for Rampage ever since I saw a clip on TMZ of him in front of some night club and the camera guy ask him what he thought about that guy who played for the Redskins and was shot & killed, he said that if your a black man in America and you have to call 911 to make sure you make yourself sound white otherwise they wont come fast enough to help you, after that I lost all respect for him, I was really glad to see Forest Griffin kick his butt July 5th.
If Dana White doesn't do anything to him after this then there's something wrong with him, but I'm sure he will end up at the very least suspend him for some time, personally I think his UFC career should be ended after what he did, not only did he hit 2 cars and take off, he drove on the sidewalk a few times causing people to flee for there lives, he could have easily killed someone.
I'm a big UFC fan and if nothing is done to him I'm gonna lose alot of respect for the UFC.

If you have noticed, Jesse Taylor will be fighting CB Dollaway this Saturday night. Jesse is certainly not a draw for the UFC but he was given a second chance based on his personal efforts to get his life straight so he can represent the UFC the way Dana expects his fighters to do. I would expect Dana and Quinton to have a meeting and Dana to set some guidelines to be followed if Rampage wants to continue to be a UFC fighter.
As for Randy Couture, I lost all respect for him. If it was not about the money, he should not have claimed it was, and that Dana White was ripping him off. If not for the UFC Couture would not be earning 25% of what he earns today. The UFC was almost Randy Couture TV for a period of time, not only was he a fighter but he also had a personal services contract. He made almost 2 million in each of his last 2 fights. I know that is not Boxing money, but it is certainly more than MMA fighters would expect to earn outside of the UFC. As a huge fan of the UFC I took Randy's actions as a slap in the face. As far as wanting to fight Fedor... Fedor is an idiot for not going to the UFC. He is fighting Tim Silvia for a title in whatever organization he is in now (M1 I believe). Big deal, Fedor probably did not want to get exposed for being the most over rated fighter in MMA, which would have happened in the UFC.

I'm glad Sobral was fired by Dana White, what he did at the end of that fight against David Heath was completely unacceptable. If you saw the fight you can hear how the crowd had completely turned on him after he did that, they were all booing him. All David did was call him a mf'er at the weight in, no way does that give him the right to continue to choke out Heath after he taps & Steve Mazzagatti tells him to stop.
Up until the end it was a really good fight, probably one of the bloodiest fights I've ever seen, after Heath got his forehead open up it was like a horror movie, the blood was just pouring off his head, there was literally a puddle of blood behind his head on the mat.
Sobral really messed up his career with that move, now he fights for second & third rate MMA organizations, and the Nevada state athletic board took half his purse from that night, $25k. I mean what did he think was gonna happen, you can't pull a move like that and not expect some sever consequences.

Affliction: Banned. This weekend on PPV! If the fiance lets me, I'm putting 2 TV's side by side so I can watch the PPV and the free UFC card at the same time. The brand itself annoys me. It looks like a graphics designer puked on their shirts... but certainly getting the ppv :)

Fedor is actually bad news. His only loss was 8 years ago, by cut. He's taken 2 decisions over Nogueira, who just took Tim Sylvia's title with a beautiful choke (who the hell thinks to run up and pull half guard on a guy that's 6'6"?!). Sobral, Arona, Herring, Coleman, Randleman, Crocop, Hunt, Lindland, Fujita... he's already owned a whos-who list, and those guys were all juiced up at the time over in Japan. There's good reason for all the hype around him.
now that said... I actually have Sylvia by round 1 TKO.

Fedor would have to give away his likeness to the UFC for free, he would have to stop competing with the national Russian Judo team.( i think it was Judo). Fedor is not one of those guys that doesn't fight for fame, or money but for the actual sport it self. The fact is that the UFC and Dana White really scrued over randy by not doing everything in the power to sign Fedor. Can u really blame Randy for not wanting to fight guys that Fedors already beaten (Nogera) but not the man himself? There is more to MMA than the UFC.

Yea, and there is more to Football than the NFL also. That Canadian League is awesome! I suppose it is all speculation as to what extent the UFC went to sign Fedor. I know I wasn't there, and I assume you werent at the negotiations so anything else is hearsay. It is a shame it never happened. Regardless, Couture is dead to me, I will never be a fan of his again. I probably diminished Fedor's accomplishments, I was impressed with him in Pride. I still think he screwed up by not going to the UFC, if you are going to fight in MMA why not fight for the top dog, make your money and get your exposure. I suppose it's admirable to say he doesn't fight for money, if that is the case why would be giving his likeness away for free an issue? Like it or not, MMA is now a business. I love the UFC and how they market themselves and present their events. It is heads and tails above everything else in my book. Did you see that joke Elite XC put on CBS? Between the Phil Baroni walkout, and Frank Shamrock they probably drove away more people from MMA than they converted. Frank Shamrock, what an idiot.

And there was more than that. Fedor's management team was demanding the UFC come to Russia and put on a cooperative show with them. That's never going to happen. They have the only successful business model because they push the brand and not the fighter. They wouldn't even compromise with HBO. Either they produce the entire show, or there is no show. You can't argue against their position, since their success speaks for itself.

What fight are you guys looking forward to seeing Saturday on the UFC fight card?
The fight I want to see is the Brandon "The Truth" Vera vs. Reese "Riptide" Andy, I'm a fan of Vera, he seems like a really good fighter, he's deadly with those kicks. I know he's lost his last 2 fights to go to a 8-2 record, but his last fight against Fabricio Werdum he was robbed, that fight should have never been stopped, he was still good to fight, the ref screwed him there. I'm sure he will eventually get a shot at the light heavyweight title.
I'm also looking forward to the Jesse Taylor Vs. CB Dollaway, I'm glad to see Dana is giving Jesse a second chance here, I'm sure he was just completely devastated when he was removed from the finals for the Ultimate Fighter, I can understand why Dana did it, he was way out of control that night, but it would have been a great shame if Dana had just completely banned him from the UFC. So I hope he comes out Saturday and puts on a good fight. I'd like to see him fight Amir here just to see what could have been that night.

Anderson Silva, my favorite fighter, although GSP is a close second. I hope The Spider comes out and fights a good fight and doesnt get clipped by Irvin. The Taylor v Dollaway fight is one I want to see also. Any chance to see CB get hit in the face.

I wouldn't call Irvin a "fluffer", he certainly is not in the same class as Silva. I think Wanderlei would be a good fight for Anderson, I don't think Lidell would stand a chance against him though. I love Chuck, but he has lost much of his power it seems. The shots he gave Jardine and Silva in years past would have put men out. Just my .02

Actually, Sambo is Russian Judo. It's basically Judo with a lot of indigenous wrestling styles of the Soviet republic thrown in. The bit about the ripping each others feet thing is due to the rules of Sport Sambo where leg locks are allowed but chokes are not; the rules were nothing more than an attempt to distance Sambo from its Judo roots.
