Title: The good Senator Rocks the Black Hills
Post by: Jackal1 on August 06, 2008, 07:21:58 AM
If you have ever been to "The Chip" during rally week, you know why I say "rocks".  :devil

http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/04/mccain-rallies-bikers-at-sturgis/ (http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/04/mccain-rallies-bikers-at-sturgis/)

Quote
This is my first time here but I recognize that sound. It’s the sound of freedom and thank you for it,” McCain said as hundreds of bikers revved their engines at a Salute to Veterans rally on the Buffalo Chip campgrounds.

Yessir!

Quote
We’re not going to pay $4 dollars a gallon for gas (when I am president) because we are going to drill offshore and we are going to drill now. We are doing to drill here and we are going to drill now,” he said. “My opponent doesn’t want to drill, he doesn’t want nuclear power. He wants to inflate your tires

Get some! :)

Quote
“Is there anyone that is tired of paying…four dollars a gallon for gasoline. Is there anyone that is sick and tired of it? Is there anyone that wants to become energy independent?” McCain said. “Well I am telling you right now we are sending 700 billion dollars (abroad) and your Congress just went on vacation for five weeks. Tell them to come back and get to work.”

Absofriggenlutely!

Quote
“I was looking at the Sturgis schedule and noticed that you have a beauty pageant and so I encouraged Cindy to compete. I told her, with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip,” he said to cheers.

 :rofl
Gotta love it!

From a related story.

Quote
“As you may know, not long ago a couple hundred thousand Berliners made a lot of noise for my opponent. I will take the roar of 50,000 Harleys any day, any day my friends,” McCain exclaimed to roars from the crowd.

No he volunteered her to enter the wet t-shirt or not contest. At least he's keeping it real, his wife is a babe for her age. Obama's old lady, well I think she looks like Condoleza Rice myself just more stuck up.

She's also campaigning here in Norfolk today, but it's by invitation only. Can't let her get too close to us regular folks that might ask a real question and expect a real answer.

I hope so!

I think when most folks get into the voting booth in November, common sense will take over and they will start thinking like a CEO would.

1)  Look at the experience.

2)  Look at the core values.

3)  Look at the sliding scale, left or right of center.

I know the majority of Americans are not that radical left.  I just see a lot of angry liberals who want to punish their fellow Americans for their own mistakes 2 years ago.

Sad.

Go JOHN!

Vote Ron Paul!

Vote Ron Paul!

Considering how McCain made his name by opposing positions of the Bush admin I don't know how you think that statement has merit.

BTW, I would take Ron Paul over both of them.

You have it all backwards, McCain went to see 50,000 people at a biker rally and was welcomed by the clingy bible thumping angry gun totting poor folk.

Now the anointed one would go sit on a hilltop in the middle of nowhere and expect 50,000 sheeple to come to him, and the sheeple would because that is their nature. Those of us that didn't show up he would talk down to since we aren't as enlightened as he is.  Oh wait he does that already.

You would not be able to get to Obama without an invitation.  The 'sheeple' would have to stand around outside the fence.

Fine example of political grand standing by McCain.

There are a hell of a lot more than 50,000 that go to Sturgis. Try 500,000 to up to 800,000.
This was a Veterans appreciation rally at Buffalo Chip campground.

I would think that if they had gone there to see the concert, or football match, or the "European crap" (as you so ineloquently put it), they would have actually gone and seen that concert, football match etc.  Now what a novel idea that is.  Actually going to the event that you intended to go to.

The air in the tires thing cracks me up... The Bush administration has a report noting that if American's inflated their tires to the proper pressure American's would save 800,000 barrels of oil a rear... now juxtapose that with the fact that if we start drilling offshore now, we can get approximately 1.2 million barrels of oil/day in 10 years

So we can save 800k/year NOW vs. getting 1.2/year in 10 years.

Maybe Obama isn't wrong?

Maybe that's why McCain came out last night and agreed with Obama's idea on a tele-town meeting...  :lol

Well crap, I say we pass legislation to require that all tires be filled with nitrogen.

Think about this....

What percentage of people do you think change their own oil?  I would imagine that this is a fairly low percentage nowadays.  The ones that don't change it themsleves get it changed somewhere and that somewhere is probably already checking the air pressure in the tires.  So I don't buy the 800K a year savings so much.

Once an OFFSHOREsite is selected, oil can be pumping in 2 years. Don't listen to the endless DNC talking points. Shell did this in 1999, a well called 'Brutus' Was up to 300k PER day, currently puts out 100k per day

Why not do both? It also doesn't need to take 10 years to get that offshore oil to market. Eliminate most of the red tape involved and that oil could be getting to market in just a couple years.
Title: Re: The good Senator Rocks the Black Hills
Post by: Eagler on August 07, 2008, 07:23:42 AM
the fact that we would be committed to drilling would lower prices IMMEDIATELY as the speculators would not be able to ring the oil shortage alarm bells anymore - why do the dumbarsecrats refuse an up or down vote on the issue.. ?? because they know the majority are FOR drilling now and are hoping lowering gas prices (oil dropped same time Bush asked for offshore drilling) kills the issue or puts it on the back burner

we have plenty of oil now - just expensive based on the global need/supply projected into the future - its all about tomorrow, not today as far as oil/gas prices go but many drinking the kool aid fail to see that very basic fact

ps

the air pressure numberss are based on figures showing the majority of us running around on under inflated tires. the fact is more than 2/3's of us have the brains to keep the proper amount of air in our tires already without the black JC telling us to do so as a means to lower our dependence on foreign oil

LOL LOL LOL

The USA could get it done in less than 10 years. Only thing I can see about the 10 year figure is lawsuits / liberal environmentalist trying to stop it - even after it is/was allowed by congress.
Heck, the Alaskan pipeline was completed in 26 months, and from the inception of NASA to NASA putting a man on the moon was 10 years....not to mention how fast the US industry buckled down to produce during WW2.

Setting up new rigs / transport / refining should in no way take 10 years....Rigs seem to pop up over night here drilling in the Barnett shale :)

lets see..  half a million free Americans in a crowd compared to 200,000 captive germans....

dyno....As for the oil thing..  I don't know where you get the 10 year number.. we could have 700,000 or more gallons a day from ANWAR in a very short time...

As for the 800,000 gallons a day savings from tires... you are talking every tire in the world... nothing to do with America. the savings in America would be tiny and ebb and flow with tune ups and such things.. unless you want more government to inspect every car every week?   or.. some UN police force for every car on the planet?

Even so.. why not encourage tire inflation and drill for oil at the same time?
