Title: Memorable PMs
Post by: 5PointOh on August 25, 2008, 03:14:29 PM
So in another thread PMs were mentioned, I myself have had a couple that made me bust out laughing, and I was wonder what were or are some of your favorite PMs. Prelude I was on climb out the other day in a 51D when I ran into a higher Niki and Spit 16. I started to fight best I could with my low state of E when I noticed that there was an F4U screaming in for the pick.  I decided that my best hope is to put my 51 in a dive and pick up some E.  At around 2k and 550 mph I went level and looked back to watch the F4U do a perfect 10 pt auger in to the sea .  SYSTEM: you have killed AAdeath. After the typical PM name calling "Runner" "your rank sucks" ect ect, I got this one.  I was a little puzzled. Not sure if it was an offer, but needless to say I locked the doors in the house.

Dallas shot me a PM... I don't remember what it was... but he called me "Missy..." which made me completely angry.  I suppose that may have been the intent, as I wasn't successful in getting him again... but he was successful in getting me after that more than once.

On a side note, Dallas is quite a pleasant person ~ I've always seen the "Dallas.... PM..." thing... but I've seen since he's been on knights that he's articulate, a team player, & extremely efficient.

So... I guess I'm a little sorry I got mad at him way back when.  :)

It seems as if nasty pm's are sent after those that think they are almighty get nailed , seems like a compliment to me , but AADeath sent me a rather angry one the other day and after almost 2 years of play I only had 1 other and that was from Adonai who actually gave me some tips in  which I thought was nice . Most players I have encountered are decent folks .

What does ACM have to do with "concept of reality"? You'd also look better if you could spell "RFLMAO" as "ROFLMAO".

Dallas used to send me tons of PMs every time i got him. That is a while ago though and now that he is on knights i have seen nothing but polite behavior. He has even said such things as "thanks for check6" when i gave it to him. If he keeps it up all the previous behavior from him will be forgotten :) Everyone _can_ change.

Best one I got....

I was in a 5" gun on a CV, throwing AA shells towards a furball. Turns out I was throwing long and my shells were landing on the edge of the runway of the base, where I was conveniently killing a/c that were upping...

I was accused in PM of vulching, with all sorts of nasty commentary about my family, my dog, and something involving farm animals that I've pushed to the nether-reaches of my brain. I politely replied back that I wasn't doing it on purpose, and that he should spawn from the other end of the runway next time.

When I landed my kills and he read that it was coming from a ship gun, he actually apologized.

Fortunately, I'm not good enough to be warranted as anything but an easy target, so I don't get PM'd much.

J

I was off a cv last week and received a completely unnecessary HO from a dhog so sent a swift PM (I hardly ever send them so if u get one, you probably deserve it ;)) only to see the guy land a bunch as a gunner, so I apologised and said I couldnt really blame a 5" for hoing. cant have been you though Herne cus all I sent was "learn some ACM :/" and thats about as harsh as I get :)

Krimm if you want some real PMing kill twentyfo for a guaranteed tirade of abuse :lol

Best one i can recall for me was in the AvA arena, when it was called the Combat Theatre or whatever it was.  We were on the Fin-Rus set up and there were quite a few people online.  For realism they had killshooter off and because it was quiet, there was a bit of teamkilling going on - all in good fun.

I was climbing away from an enemy base, and i hear over vox "Check your 6 Furball, i'm going to f*** you up", i look up top right and see the name "Storch" in a private vox, look back and he is 800 my 6 and just starting firing.

3 or so seconds later, he had exploded after i barrel rolled him.  :devil :lol

I used to have it on film somewhere, it was so good.

Yes, it is, about 3 weeks ago (can't recall who it was unfortunatly) in the DA got tired of me shootin 'em down (for the 4th time...) and so he swapped country's, hunted me down, and started yelling at me over range (although... he did sound kinda like paul harvey  :aok) cause I was flying a p38...which apparently has made it to the "noob plane list"...and man... squad vox was a great one!  :lol

my favorite was one time early morning, I was manning the 5' guns really close to an enemy field. Some #s guy kept trying to roll B24s to sink the cv and I kept blasting him. Finally about the 4th time shooting him down, he PMs me telling me to "get a life". Seems he was smart enough to PM, but didn't realize there was a shore battery that of taken it out.
Ive had the Dr.Death PMs which really made my night one time. got him the first time and get a PM."dweeb, you had more alt".  shot him down a second time and it was "dweeb, you had a better plane".  After the 3rd time, I saw on 200 that Adonai was yelling at him to leave him alone. My guess was that he was PMing him to join up and go after me.

First time it happened to me I was quite dumbfounded.

Firstly, it was a squeaker.  So it hurt my ears.

Secondly, it was completely unintelligible.  My ears (already reeling in pain, mind you) could not decipher one word from the next.  I recall key phrases like "IS THAT ALL YOU CAN DO MAN JUST BNZ HUH MAN IS THAT ALL YOU CAN (naughty word) DO (naughty word) (VERY naughty word) IS THAT ALL YOU CAN DO IS JUST BNZ WHAT THE (another naughty word) YOU (naughty word) (naughty word) (naughty word) (naughty word) (naughty word) YOU (naughty word) IM GOING TO KILL YOU (naughty word)!!!!!!!!!"

This went on for a good, full minute.  I didnt even respond.  Eventually, I started laughing and berating him on 200 but man, it was an experience.

Funny thing is that I remember the fight and I he was just pissed cause I ran his butt down when he tried to beat feet.  Eventually, I killed him with my flaps out.  BnZ indeed.

triple5 = guns06, hes known for his tantrums when he doesnt get his way. normally it means he lost his pacifier in one of the FH's so just go find it, give it back to him and put him down for his nappy nap...that usually fixes everything for atleast 15 mins. then rince and repeat :)

One time after shooting down a chap i recieved a lot of grief over ch1 so I told him to stop humping my ankle.  He immediately claimed that he knew i was shane all along and for the next 3 days I recieved abusive PM's about shane directed at me. :D  This stopped when shane was logged on at the same time as me.  I'm guessing shane must have shot this guy down pretty frequently.   I wish i could remember the guy's name, it was pretty funny at the time.

oDALLASo and oGERWINo and oANGELo or oGABRIELo (or something)..

Also, this one time I pk'd 2 drones and then totaly splurged with all guns (Ta152) on some bomber formation.. The player (total unknown name) PM-voxes me with the classic "you think you're so tuff doing (this) and (that), you're gonna pay, come back and get some" blah blah blah.  Really funny hearing a grown adult, prolly 40s, whining so miserably.

Only time I got PMed was when a high 51 would dive down on my Yak as I was taking off. I would turn, he would miss and climb back up. I went level building airspeed and every time he came down I would break. He would lose some steam each pass. He got slow enough I ran him down with the Yak and killed him. Then came the PMs about how I would not fight him. I told him "I'm not going to try to climb up to you." "AT least I engage!." he says. I say " I engaged when it was to my advantage, not yours. That's why your 51 was killed by a Yak."  He shut up.

Only time some dweeb PMed me.

neg mathis...he used to be GUNS06, got ban'd for something or other, changed his name again to something else, claimed he was getting hacked by someone in the game *shrugs* then he changed it again to something else and now tripl5, thing is...he can keep changin his name but he will NEVER change his attitude. he's one of ur classic arm chair generals is all. no one special.

just today I was pm'd by a 110 pilot who told me "nice pick" when only me (in a n1k) and him in the air in the entire sector,  he was trying to kill friendly gv's.  :lol

he said "4 flaks were shooting at me"

I said, "dont dogfight flaks"

he apparently forgot to remember he had already turned once to try to shoot me.

yesterday I was pm'd to "learn how to fly" by a ammo factory porker in b17's after I had killed all 3 of him, but accidentally collided into his wreckage in a 152.

I can't relate to what most are having to deal with here. Some of it sounds like it sucks pretty bad :( Instead of overreacting and PMing someone when they get the best of me whether I think it's fair or not, I just figure that it comes with the territory and also requires a certain amount of maturity to refrain from this sort of behavior.

Question for Skuzzy...When you get the phone calls and the emails concerning this, do you ever just want to line up all the involved parties and one at a time just slap the piss out of them? Just curious.

These two are from rawwdog after a fight in the MW arena.  He was stupified on how a P-38J could turn with a Hurricane IIc.

And this one happened today after I shot down valdals.  He too was stupified on how a P-38J could out maneuver his Hurricane IIc or maybe it was from shooting his chute afterwards.  While not a PM, it still was very funny.

I like the Valdals one... why people bother to get in a chute is a mystery to me.. then they get mad when thye get shot... good humor.

Same here, I don't even have the bail out key or open chute key mapped in game.

The open chute key does seem extraneous. I just exit flight instead.
It might make some sense to bail out, since you do get slightly better points for bailing than crashing.
Still, I'd never map it to the controls, since with my luck, just as I got on target, I'd bail out  :lol

IIRC, the default binding for bailing out is pressing 'Enter' three times.  After accidentally bailing out a few times typing to squadron mates or others, I just unbound the keys for it.  But as you pointed out, it's pretty worthless unless you're going for score.

PM's are for amateurs.  You haven't really arrived until someone tunes vox to you and rants for a full minute without taking a single breath.

Thanks, oDALLASo, for letting me know I arrived.
