Title: Palin Please Do an Interview
Post by: TwentyFo on September 10, 2008, 01:21:07 AM
It's been nearly a month now and the potential VP has yet to do an interview since she accepted the nomination. Seriously? I think this is outrageous. I would like her to answer questions that need to be answered. Her reluctance to do an interview this late in the game is a shady move by the McCain side. I'm tired of watching her at political rallies uttering the same stuff daily. Every candidate has done countless interviews....everyone except Palin. What are they hiding? I don't care if she goes on FOX and answers cupcake questions. For god's sake Obama went on the O'Reilly factor for an interview. No VP has EVER waited this long in the process to do an interview. Do something.......geesh

Okay....this is her 3rd week and she hasn't done an interview. Why?

It's been 10 days.

Of course, to a liberal, it must seem like a month.

and, since the frothing liberal media will be slapping her with questions like 'So, since you've decided to neglect your children by running for the vice presidency, will you still have time to slaughter caribou and hunt wolves from helicopters?'

I'd say let the media cretins and democratic party smear army (the DNC set 30 headhunters into wassilla this week!) crawling all over alaska and rooting thru her outhouse see if they can find anything else to talk about first...

..meanwhile. yah got 20 more days to make it a 'month, already!'.

LOL!

What questions do you want answered?

I don't know maybe she could answer why she thinks she qualified for VP. Her support of that Alaskan secessionist group. Her initial support of a so called "pork barrel" project and then changing her mind about the project.....she ended up keeping the money and used it on other projects. The abuse of power accusations. Her foreign policy experience.

All of these questions are relevant and she should be held accountable.

She already has one scheduled... this week with ABC's Charles Gibson.

Always the 'liberal media', that's all you could come up with. Okay, I admit it has been 2 weeks and not a peep by her for a one on one interview. This makes no sense. She couldn't have appeared via satellite for an interview on a show like Good Morning America? She couldn't have been on the telephone on the Rush Limbaugh show? What is her deal?

There hasn't even been a scheduled interview that I know of.

Well, since your obviously not voting for her.. here's the 'Accounting'.

And about some of the BS that has been spread in blogs and "please forward this!" emails..... No matter which candidate... there is a site that seems at least "For The Most Part" aimed at cutting through the BS to get the facts during this election cycle... I highly recommend it... http://www.factcheck.org

They debunk or confirm a LOT of rumors that have spread about BOTH major parties.

I don't know maybe she could answer why she thinks she qualified for VP.

Well, she's at least 36, a natural born citizen and has lived in the USA for 14 years...

Her support of that Alaskan secessionist group.

She spoke at thier convention...  the convention held at the town where she was mayor.  "Hey! As Mayor, I would like to say thanks for coming and spending dollars in our local economy!"  That's support for a sucessionist group?

Her initial support of a so called "pork barrel" project and then changing her mind about the project.....she ended up keeping the money and used it on other projects.

That's the bridge to nowhere project that both Obama and Biden voted for, right?

The abuse of power accusations.

Where she fired the chief of public safety?  Can't a Governor do that? A President can ask for the resignation of a cabinet official just cuzz.

Her foreign policy experience.

You sayin that anybody with her level of FP experience is not qualified?  Really?

Sweet poem at the bottom of your post Yeager!!! Didn't realize you had such an artsy sensitive side to you. I bet on Friday nights you like to sit by a warm fire sipping a glass of red wine listening to a mix of Kenny G and nature sounds. Ahh.....how relaxing. You pick up a pen along with a tablet to write on. You manage to make your pen glide on the paper like an artist painting a canvas. The ink on the paper is merely lines that intersect each other which eventually form smooth flowing words that seem to flow like the waters of the Nile River. Your journey into to the realm of poetry is over. You put down your pen and tablet, finish off your wine, and finally hit the switch on the soothing music coming out of the stereo.

Was I on point?

How was she supporting the secessionist group? (She has never been a member although her husband has),as far as keeping the money for the bridge to nowhere, Congress put that money into a transportation bill for Alaska. Really though, these answers are on the internet you can easily find them if you just look.  :)

Perfect example of sexism. I've discussed this issue with countless people and the first thing they say about her is "She's hot" or "That's the librarian I'd like to bang." Apparently your guys' only qualification to help lead this country is based on a beauty contest. How about this.....Donald Trump has a beauty contest every 4 years called Mrs. USA in order to pick the Republican VP nominee.

Seems like a legitimate question.  I was very close to voting for Mccain until he picked her.  Now it's between Osamabeensucking, and whoever my state will allow on the ticket.  Of course it doesn't matter who I vote for in my state, McCain has it locked up, so it's just for the sake of voting for me. :aok

Liberal Elites... . I love how the Republican Party always turns on the media during election time. It's the classic us (the American People) vs. them (the "liberal" media) mentality. Did you happen to catch Tucker Bounds interview with Campbell Brown about the credentials of Palin? Now I'm starting to see why they don't want her to do interviews.

It has been just two weeks since they announced her nomination.  Please, learn to count.

She was announced during the Democratic Convention.
She participated in four days of the Republican Convention.
She has been to two different rallies in different states.

Kind of a busy schedule, eh?

Extra gall bladders, maybe? Ovaries wouldn't make her a Woman in the Palin sense any more than 50 cubic ft of Koolaid would make your obama obsession make sense or two-bit teenage democrat parotting hold water anywhere outside of Demo-land - hold Koolaid, OTOH...
You could be right in a way, though; her ovaries might be so shriveled by her incessant wenching that it's got her and her charisma and her ovaries and her wenching in a perfect negative feedback loop.

I want to see Palin do a serious interview as soon as possible, but at the same time, let's be serious.  With the way the media has treated her so far, she will have to be the most prepared candidate for an interview probably in the history of politics, because they're gonna come after her with the biggest load of gotcha irrelevant questions you've ever seen.  It will be more of the same.  So she has to damn well have every single solitary base of anything imaginable covered, totally, so they can't "get her" on some trick question.

Plus why should she run out to meet the media after the way they have treated her so far?  I say stick it to the ilk for a little bit longer.  It's not the media's right to question her, it's the American people's right to know who she really is.  An all out smear campaign of the lowest order is not a fair way to introduce any candidate.  There's a reason it's backfired on the media so far.

It's not the media's right to question her, ...

It's the media's responsibility to question her. It comes with the territory of running for office. If a VP candidate can't take that heat, they need to get out of the kitchen

... or get back to the kitchen in her case.

How about:

  • International experience. What's her experience dealing with international issues, leaders and people
  • Knowledge of global economy. What background does she have and on what basis would she be able to judge the impact of the policies she intend to implement? Specialist helpers are all well and good but any leader needs a strong background if he/she is not be reduced to a puppet
  • Military experience. Putting a n00b civilian in charge of the military is basically the same as putting a total n00b biker on a GSX-R 1000. Sure, the n00b has some ideas, but no real clue.
  • Religious background, and amount her faith influences her decision making. The US is not a theocracy like Iran and big decision must be based on reasoning, not faith. There's a separation between the state and religion (albeit a rather weak one) for a reason. I need to know that I got someone to whom critical thinking is an integral part of their decision making process
  • Views on foreign policy, views on domestic economy. Thoughts about how to deal with the huge national debt that just keeps getting bigger

Thanks Eskimo, at least that provides a little background.

I'm still a bit skeptical though. Same about Obama. Too many soundbites, too little facts.

Maybe I should say that I like both personalities. McCain I know fairly much about, Obama much less and Palin almost nothing. The one thing that worries me about Palin is that it seems she's used her political power in less than benign ways and in a non public capacity. On the other hand, it does speak of sharp elbows, something that's needed on the international scene.

Lies? Getback....all we've heard from Palin so far are scripted political rallies. Her return to Fairbanks, Alaska last night even had a teleprompter. I want to hear from her own mouth about her political record. There are plenty of questions that have not been answered. Her avoidance to do an interview, in my opinion, is going to catch up to her.

Here's the deal. She is a new and fresh face in one of the most important elections this country has ever seen. John McCain, on the other hand, was seen by many Republicans as not the right choice for the presidential election. He has had some very non-republican stances over his career in politics. That didn't sit too well with some of the Republican base.

Do you remember how outraged some people were that McCain was going to get the nomination? Palin has seemed to unite the base. Like you said they are glad to have their own 'rockstar'. For some reason, people are voting for McCain based on his VP....which is totally donut backwards. Her joining this presidential election campaign has made it a lot more interesting.

That is weak.. even for you.

If that is true then why are you even upset and trying to make her out as even more conservative?   why so desperate here and in the media?

I mean.. you aren't gonna win back all those (ahem) conservative republicans that were for osambama yesterday and for Palin today.

Palin has done an interview with Charlie Gibson from ABC news.

Obama did his first real interview finally with Bill O'Reilly, instead of the incredible fluff interviews with MSM left wing fawning fools.

Ballsy talk from a guy who probably listens to Limbaugh. The guy who gets his talking points on the fax machine from Cheney. The one whose followers call themselves "dittoheads".

So, Dos, what's been new with you lately? Hope things are goin well on your end. Life out here with the urban crawlers is getting iffy.. a move upstate got cut off this spring when my kid got preggers and bought a house here. Looks like I'm gonna hafta dig in.

You see the Ron Paul bit on the news yesterday? Laffed my bellybutton off when he kicked Nader in the nutts. ;)

Anyway.. back to the regularly scheduled turd toss.

To me people voting for Obama are retards. ill give you just a couple of examples why the guy is a moron!
A. He wants to raise gas taxes. Gee thats smart raise the gas prices even more!!!! Cause gas is still just too damn cheap these days.
B. do you really think Obama is gonna be able to go to another country and persuade another country with his religious BS cause there is no way that man is going to persuade any terrorist. thats the only thing hes got. Whereas McCain will most likely go over there and demand what he wants and make sure we are safe.

in this time period we need a badass president who doesnt take sh** from no one. McCain has been around Politics before Obama was born. so will Obama really know how to react when he meets up with a real terrorist? McCain will go over there and not take sh** from the lousy people

think about it. Obamas is the democrats leader, soooo will Obama run the country or will the Democrat party tale over? the way i see it, once the dems gain full power of the house and congress. he will lose all power and the congress will just use him as a higher man to pass bills and raise taxes to get as much money as they possibly can suck out of americans paychecks.

think about it this way. the dem congress has experiance, they are like the senior class, they are useing a freshman to speak for them to the lower 8th graders. once Obama gets into office they are gonna totally take over and push obama to the side. they just need obama to win, and they will do everything in there power to make him win.

do you understand why he is a bad pick?

Token Liberals in Fly-Over states are a managed species.

You can get a tag, but the seasons short and the bag limit is low. Pays to pick worthy targets.

This one is not worthy.

I was born and raised in the great state of Nebraska. I've lived in Omaha all my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. So don't tell me to move anywhere. BTW the Colorado Buffalos suck

Yep, they sure do. I was born and raised in Nebraska, Lincoln to be exact. In fact, I was born 2.3 miles from the stadium the Cornhuskers play in. I also have a Christmas card from Tom Osborne.

I stand by my previous statement.

Did you know the Obama camp set up shop in Omaha in order to try and grab some of Nebraska's electoral votes?

Nebraska has given its five electoral votes to the GOP candidate in every presidential election since 1964. The state is one of just two -- Maine is the other -- that can split its electoral votes, although it's never happened.

Here's what I don't understand. When you show the dems, libs, or whatever the debunked lies what do they do. Search for some other lie to lean on. You debunk that. They move to the next lie. Finally they come back to the first lie. Some just aren't learning anything. The other thing is I really think those individuals have another agenda, maybe even a secret one. Say like same sex marriages or I'm in a teachers union, or I want to kill babies. Something is hidden here. Otherwise they would wake up.

I mean look at Obama, his friend is a terrorist and proud of it. His social work was with ACORN an organization in trouble in 12 states for voter fraud, and he wants to tax everything under the sun. Yet still these libs (Fools) think he is the best thing ever. So if you are a liberal, tell us why you really want NoBama elected.

Folly of the day. Biden to a guy named chuck, Stand up chuck stand up, Oh god, sorry chuck, didn't see the wheel chair.  :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

I'm just saying if you look at the facts, i cant see 1 reason why obama would be a good president. hes just a billboard! that's it!

wouldn't you rather have some 1 who knows a little bit about the world and how it works. compared to a NOOB!???? Obama is a NOOB!

opening the oil reserves in Alaska would be such a great thing!

it openeds thousands of jobs for people and we would not have to pay other countries who don't really like us that much anyway. plus shipping would cost Way cheaper.

so whats to lose about oil reserves. it will only help our economy in the future.

Obama unfortunatly doesn't understand that. they just want to disagree with everything the repubs say. and thats not right!

Definitely. If we started drilling in Alaska we would no longer have to buy oil from OPEC.

What are you talking about, she accepted her speech like 2 weeks ago
