A top Hillary Rodham Clinton fundraiser threw her support behind Republican John McCain on Wednesday, saying he will lead the country in a centrist fashion and accusing the Democrats of becoming too extreme.
"I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left," Lynn Forester de Rothschild said. "I'm not comfortable there."
I find this pretty intriguing. Yet another big business owner realizes the peril that Obama and the far left Democrats represent. If this trend continues will we see a landslide victory for McCain despite all the BS and dirt being drummed up on Palin by the slime merchants working for the Dems?
She (Rothschild) praised McCain for working with Democrats to pass legislation and for standing up to President Bush on the Iraq war.
"I just ask, who has Barack Obama ever stood up to? And that troubles me a lot," she said.
I would ask the same thing, what has Barack Hussein Obama ever stood up to?
He didn't stand up for slum lords in Chicago when he was one of their lawyers.
He didn't stand up to Reverend Wright when he spewed his hate from the pulpit.
He didn't stand up and condemn William Ayers (one of his friends) who is a known terrorist.
He didn't stand up and condemn his wife's thesis which is a hate filled diatribe that promotes segregation and racism.
In mine, as well as other eyes, Barack Hussein Obama has done nothing other than posture and recite lines. He really is an empty suit.

The left is no longer as smug as they were a month ago. I've been saying all along, this election is going to be so lopsided that it may be the beginning of the revolution that lasor dreams about.
-
True, but they are doing their best to try and manufacture something to throw this election back into their court....
Sad that they manipulate people and things so badly.
-
Bodhi....sad point is that there are people who can be manipulated.
-
Not all dems are mindless automatons nor are all republicans.
The best candidate will act on what is best for the country, not his or her party or what would benefit him or her the most.
The Pelosi's and howard dean types are all party and screw the rest regardless of the consequences people and need to be pushed from any position of power or influence as they are incapable of being non partisan in their decisions.

I agree, as I said before, it's disenheartening to see so many that fall for the same liberal crap again and again

You know, I was hoping that Obama would take it. This would speed up the revolution, not put it off for another 4-8 years.
But with Obama picking Biden, and McCain picking Palin, McCain will spank Obama. Scratch that, they ARE spanking Obama.
Obama and his team are panicking. Full on 3 year old girl crying and flapping their arms panic. If they do win, they will have run the most dirty / lying campaign in recent history. If they do win, their credibility will be shot, and Republicans will take the election 2 years after, at least.

Yet another reason Obama may be looking at some hard times on the campaign trail.
Barack Obama's Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Connection
Tuesday, September 16, 2008
By John Gibson
Lehman Brothers collapse is traced back to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two big mortgage banks that got a federal bailout a few weeks ago.
Freddie and Fannie used huge lobbying budgets and political contributions to keep regulators off their backs.
A group called the Center for Responsive Politics keeps track of which politicians get Fannie and Freddie political contributions. The top three U.S. senators getting big Fannie and Freddie political bucks were Democrats and No. 2 is Sen. Barack Obama.
Now remember, he's only been in the Senate four years, but he still managed to grab the No. 2 spot ahead of John Kerry — decades in the Senate — and Chris Dodd, who is chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.
Fannie and Freddie have been creations of the congressional Democrats and the Clinton White House, designed to make mortgages available to more people and, as it turns out, some people who couldn't afford them.
Fannie and Freddie have also been places for big Washington Democrats to go to work in the semi-private sector and pocket millions. The Clinton administration's White House Budget Director Franklin Raines ran Fannie and collected $50 million. Jamie Gorelick — Clinton Justice Department official — worked for Fannie and took home $26 million. Big Democrat Jim Johnson, recently on Obama's VP search committee, has hauled in millions from his Fannie Mae CEO job.
Now remember: Obama's ads and stump speeches attack McCain and Republican policies for the current financial turmoil. It is demonstrably not Republican policy and worse, it appears the man attacking McCain — Sen. Obama — was at the head of the line when the piggies lined up at the Fannie and Freddie trough for campaign bucks.
Sen. Barack Obama: No. 2 on the Fannie/Freddie list of favored politicians after just four short years in the Senate.
Next time you see that ad, you might notice he fails to mention that part of the Fannie and Freddie problem.

Nice how all the liberals have decided not to comment on anything.... but, in fairness, they know we are right, and Obama is a lying empty suit.

I can fire up a crowd.
I can get a mic and get on stage and tell people what they want to hear. (I've done it thousands of times, but never as a politician :D )
But if I don't have the experience to pull it off, or if I don't have a plan in place, or all I am interested in is partisan rhetoric, or if I think I know everything already and aren't willing to seek out very experienced people to learn from, I am doomed to failure.
So would Barak Obama, but I do not firmly believe the American public wants someone with such little practical experience running the Executive Branch of their nation.
I vote for who will be the absolute best commander-in-chief to protect our nation from enemies--foreign & domestic FIRST (defence & foreign policy). If a president can't be the cornerstone to defend his/her nation's people, then who is going to even care about the economy, education, energy, etc.
Ladies & gentlemen of the forum...I am 47 years old and this is the second time in my life I will cast a vote during wartime.
What is more importaint than having a strong experienced commander-in-chief in time of war?
And for the folks yapping on and on about Ron Paul--he's a decent guy, but face it---he did NOT get the nomination---by a longshot. Face it, any vote for Ron Paul (no matter how well intentioned, because he doesn't have an ice cube's chance to win) is a vote for Barak Obama. If you feel I am wrong, please read your history. Every third party candidate handed the election away to someone else.

yeah rox but for every person who will vote in the next election.. like you.. osamabinbiden wins over two people who will not vote in the next election and 6 your-0-peeans.

in 2006 McCain said to congress that fanny and freddy were in trouble and tried to get legislation to fix it but the democrats said there is no problem and did not act.
it is in the congressional record.

I'm sorry--that line was just plain idiotic.

The Democrats didn't act? How so? Who exactly had control over what got voted on and what didn't in 2006?

If Big Business is backing McCain then that tells me all I need to know about who I should vote for, I'll vote for the other guy, i'm not big business, just a regular guy, Why would a regular person vote for someone who has big business as his main focus? I'll vote for someone who has the working man as his main focus anyday, don't much care if the person is a Democrat, Republican etc, Whoever has the normal working person as his main focus gets my vote.

Tell me, when did the poor create jobs?

I don't claim to be an expert in politics or anything like that, all I care about is how much of my paycheck comes my way and all the rest, I'm not some diehard fan of any party, I just like the guy who will stick up for me- the regular working guy, no more, no less.
all the Candidates will claim to be the best at this and that, we all know that, but whatever party it is, the guy (or gal) who has me and millions like me as their main focus deserves my vote.

DING DING DING

I find it intriguing that the laughingstock of the Hilary campaign, worth billions, continues to call Obama "elitist".
Pretty sure this hurt your boy, just like it hurt Sen. Clinton when Madam Roethschild started talking.

Never seen it like that before, gives me food for thought, like I said, I in no way shape or form claim to an expert in Politics or any of that stuff, so thanks for putting it that way John, I just work hard for my paycheck and I want to keep as much of it as possible.

Something else to think about. Big companies do not pay taxes. The people who buy their products do. They pass the cost on to you.

Itunes.. another little point... if you work hard for your money and your employer is paying more in taxes, not only will your raises vanish... your job could vanish. Think about the dems stance on minimum wage and the open borders/immigration issue. Can an illegal do yer job? If so, if obama gets his way, your job will be done by somebody yer employer can pay less.. and the employer gets a tax credit for hiring a minority.
The backbone of this country and it's economy is small business... the guys that make taillight lenses and lug nuts. The burger shops. The plumbers, roofers, tradesmen and contractors. Your jobs depend on a healthy business with a minimum tax load. Change the tax environment small business operates in, you change the bottom line.. the number of employees, their benefits, their pay scale.
Think long and hard before you buy the rubbish both sides are putting in the air. If it's your paycheck, and your a working man... I'd vote republican. The dems want you socialized and marginalized. The Liberal Elite is not working class America.

Bronk hit on something you should think about as well iTunes. That when we tax big companies, the big company just raises the price of the good or service and in the end, we (the common guys) pay the tax. That is how that works. The same thing goes for gasoline. Regardless of the cost, the gas companies still make far less than does the government. In some cases much, much less.
18.4 cents a gallon goes to the federal government
state to state taxes are different, some are fixed dollar amounts, others are percentages. A few examples of different states are:
California 63.9 cents per gallon plus 6% Gross Sales Tax. 1.25% county tax. 1.2 cpg state UST fee. plus local sales tax.
Colorado (where I live) is 40.4 cents a gallon. Already we are paying 58.8 cents a gallon in just tax.
New York 59.6 cents a gallon plus between 3.1 to 4.5% local county tax on gross sales receipt.
Texas 38.4 cents per gallon.
The average gas company makes between 4 and 9 cents a gallon that is sold.
Kind of interesting when you really look at the numbers and realize where all the money goes.

But Obama will also cut the taxes of 80% of working Americans thereby increasing disposable income and fuling the economy. He is also projected to have 1/2 the defecit McCain will build up based on a non-partisan link provided so kindly by Mr. Toad.

If they (big corp) cut jobs because of tax increases. What good is 80% less of nothing?
-
anyone who believes that osamabinbiden.. or any democrat will lower taxes on 80% of us is a foolish twit.
Republicans have lowered taxes on 80% of the people before tho..
I will not count any people who do not pay taxes anyway.. a "tax credit" giveaway to people who pay nothing now is not "lowering taxes" it is redistribution of wealth by force.

Yea, they'll close even though they have a healthier customer base... your logic is laughable. Almost as funny as lazs.

Obama will probably lower our taxes by 80%. He will in turn raise taxes on businesses. In the end, we will still be paying the taxes.

So your saying they wont lay off workers too keep profits the same? Please show me where i said they'll close.

Excellent post Hangtime, I wonder why the partys spend millions using all these Advertising Experts and yet you seem to have explained it way better than any Ad i've ever seen, so it goes like this: The Boss gets his taxes raised, Illegals then become very attractive cost wise and guys like me are out of a job, No more Bonus or raises and stuff like that? No thanks.
McCain just got himself another vote.
-
So your saying they wont lay off workers too keep profits the same? Please show me where i said they'll close.
Profits also come from increasing the customer base. You don't cut jobs if you have increased sales just to reduce a little bumb in your overhead.

Telll me ..just how many of those high end RVs are you going to sell to the guy making 30k a year hmmm?

when the govt put the "luxury" tax on big yachts it almost put the US boat manufacturers out of business, the rich people went overseas to buy their boats.
yeah, "big" business has lots of money, lets their raise taxes.

You imply that actually they don't lay off worker for profit reason.
And it's false.

It has just come to light that we have loaned 82 billion dollars to Banks for liquidity.....and AIG has recieved 25 Billion already.
My question....concerning Fannie and Freddie. Where was Congress? Where was Barney Frank chairman of the Senate Banking Committee?
It leads me to think someone or someones in Congress were reaping some profits from Financial Institutions that were passing out shaky loans and selling these loans to other financial institutions. This bascially has come down to simple matter of greed and the "I want Sum" syndrome.
Let's get while the gettin' is good!
Methinks we are to blame also for putting up with the crap that has been going on in US Politics for quite awhile. We tend to look the other way when things are going well for us. Frankly...we just don't pay attention. We get fed over the airwaves Vote Lib, Vote Dem, Republican, Democrat, whatever your favorite party. Meanwhile why we are lapping that up some are doing a fancy dance routine behind our backs that we will not notice.
It's about time we keep a better eye on what our Govt. is doing for us! We don't elect our Officials to represent Special Interest Groups or Businesses. We elect them to represent us. I really can't think of anything worthwhile in the last 20 years that has been done by our Govt. to help all of us.
Energy Problems
Taxes
Banking Crisis
Hurrican Katrina
Health Care
I don't want a Socialist govt. I want a Government that operates on the premise that those who are elected to Office to represent their constituents will do so. Represent their Constituents, not represent themselves and their views. And not be effected by Lobbyists and special interest groups. They represent their constituents and should vote as their constituents see fit.
How much longer should we suffer this? It's our fault also. We elect the bastards.
Oh and btw.....Fox News just reported that #2 on the fannie Mae donation list was (drum roll please))))))))))))))))))) Barrack Obama
Yup.....he received the 2nd largest Donation from Fannie Mae...and he only being a Senator for 4 years. Makes ya wonder don't it?
-
yep really makes me wonder
lol... think he should get rid of these leeches?

None, but we sell a lot to people making 100k a year, or even 150k a year. Obama's tax increase doesn't affect anyone making less than 250k.
