WTG Bee! Looks like you did a heck of a job with your folks doing everything they could to distract and embarrass yah.
You rock, kid! :aok

Put her over there next to that England truck and see how she does. Scares the crap out of most new drivers to be next to something that big.
I was the same age first time I drove. Looks like she will handle it well. Good job :aok

Oh, you were talking about DRIVING!!!!!!!!!! :t

Yes I was Tango, with what u had in mind I hope u stoped at "Just turned 14" and actually didn't click on the video link. :devil

I don't, because I haven't yet. :noid No reason to pay for gas, insurance, and licensing when I can reach everything I need on foot.

Except for a couple rural states, that's true.
But who's to stop a father from teaching his kid when no one else is on the road?

I don't remember my first drive. I do remember as I was first learning that my Mom & I sat at an intersection for about an hour while I tried to get the car going after stalling it out. She absolutely, positively wouldn't do it for me. She was content to just real sweetly say "That's okay honey, we'll just sit here until you get it." I was fit to be tied.

She was doing a real fine job. :salute

First time driving the parents pickup i was six years old. It was a green '75 Ford 1/2 ton long box 4x2
First time driving to town seven years old. In a early '70 light blue Datsun with a four on the floor 4x2
First solo in Cessna 152 (C-GQDJ) Nov 19 1987 (I was 17) Blue sky/ no wind/ took off Runway 23 left turn to down wind (remember being scared as hell) left turn to final (Check check check) full stop landing with taxi back. (legs shaking) got out and walked around was done for the day.
Remember all this like it was yesterday.
Frenchie you made memories that will last a lifetime :salute

Oh, I do remember my first drive! I learned to drive in one of the long empty parking lots adjacent to Zepplin Field (Nurnburg... where all of Hitler's rally speeches were held). It's now called Soldier's Field ~ the Americans use it as a sports & recreation stadium.

Yeah teach em on a truck. I taught myself to drive in a 63 C10 with 3 on the tree and 262 I6 when I was 14 lol

I grew up on a farm. I learned to drive early. I learned how to back a trailer before I was allowed to drive forward. I wasn't given the option to screw up.
I taught one of my stepdaughters how to drive, it's a miracle and a testament to the Ford F250 that I survived.
Our driveway was very steep down the high side of a curve. She approached the driveway at 55, 500ft away. I said slow down...
The driveway got closer. 250ft away. SLOW DOWN...
The drive way is 50ft away. SLOW DOWN!
We made the 90degree turn at 30mph. The truck jumped the driveway and landed 30ft away in our neighbor's front yard. We came sliding to a stop sideways 10ft short of their house.
