Palin is forcing the hollywood and late-night types to respect her.

in spite of her ability to connect with regular people, Sarah Palin is really something special... and a good person.

I think Hillary must be stunned to see that a woman can be tough without being a boner shrinker.

I do.

I liked it when she was holding her son near the end. Wonderful! Her closing statements were superb. I think even biden had respect for her. They talked after the debate.

I am no mccain fan and disagree with Palin on a few points BUT she won this one; it wasn't a slaughter, but she won.  If she was running for President, maybe... But since it is mccain, I am sticking with Bob Barr.

I thought she did great but to find  out if she really did I tuned to Cnn and msnbc.

What I got from them was how she avoided questions, attacked and kept attacking and she did not play fair.

All admissions that she really did do well by her not so well, well wishers.

Can they win????   Not sure.

Did she do better than expected?  I believe America would agree....yes she did., and won the majority of this debate.

She had the potential to really scuttle McCain's candidacy, and not only did she NOT do that, she might have improved it slightly (but only by removing some of the damage she's already done to it).

Might as well get a extremely sexy playboy model to say the same exact speech of Sarah Palin.

Hillary is much better in terms of using her words and actually being tough.

As she as good of a person as she says, it can be a mere"Mask' of her true side. A ordinary republican can do the exact same thing, with the result. She may have looks, but looks can only get you so far especially in here case. Can you tell me in what way would she be special, compared to a random draw to other Congressman or Senators?

It's Alaska, having a high approval rating is probably a lot EASIER to get. I thought I read somewhere that her approval rating dipped into the 60's.

People who would support her in a snowstorm took a second look after her incredible blunders following the Katie Couric interviews...It's almost like they were saying "Woah, we didn't know she was that _____________________________ ___________________________" If your running at 80% before you get the Vice-Pres gig shouldn't you be polling at least even if not higher in a state with an extremely small population that supported you so vigorously before McCain picked you? I honestly think many were embarrassed with her knowledge in those interviews...

I am a big fan of Palin and sure.. she beat old slo joe..  no doubt on that...

The problem is that slo joe biden is probly about as tough to debate as skycrock...  To dumb and to flawed with a crummy record on voting and on gaffs.

I think she did great for that kind of forum but any real DC slickster would have had slo joe crying by the end.

Still..  I think we are all tired of DC slickster tricksters...  Maybe we don't want America to look like chicago and DC and detroit.    I thought back when that it was the reason klinton won.

Palin did fine, I agree.  However, and contrary to expectations, the debate forum is less challenging on specifics than the 1 on 1 interviews that Palin so famously bombed.  Debates as they are allow the candidate to just drone on about their talking points, never bothering to answer the question, and both sides are guilty of that.  Biden was a little better in this respect, but that was expected from a man who's spent 20 years in the Senate.

Did Palin actually answer a question?  Biden was excellent, he answered the questions head on, and provided facts.  He clearly laid out there plans, providing statistical data. He proved himself as a great debate and a gentleman.  Big time Biden win!  :aok

Yeah, I noticed that, every time she would be asked a question, the comeback would, "ok, but I want to talk about.." And then would ramble about something else. I think a good mod would have made them stick to the questions asked.

For the record: A VP debate has never changed the dynamics of a presidential race.
It's just a traditional formality, like pulling down your underwear before you get screwed by another politician.

On that note, Biden is listed as the #3 most LIBERAL politician today. Guess who's ranked #1? No, It's not Teddy, he's #2.

She came across as a regular person, just one of us commoners....
Elitists HATE that... They think that us commoners should just sit down and shut up...

God forbid that she actually gets into office...
She might actually DO something about the institutional doubletalkers in DC...
THIS makes them afraid!!!

In the case of the corrupt two faced liars in DC, FEAR is GOOD!!!

LOL, its sooo funny... To watch the well known "feminist leaders" becoming almost
violently ill because of her popularity.. Simply because she is a Republican... LOL!!!
She is the ONE they have been waiting for, BUT SHE IS A REPUBLICAN, AAAAGGGHHH!!!!

Just goes to show, that ALLLLLLL that rhetoric about womans equality/rights from the "feminist movement"
is just BS... Truth is, they have shown themselves, to be just more Democratic party hacks... LOL sooo funny...
They finally find a woman, who can actually make it all the way... And "feminists" are
doing EVERYTHING they can to slit her political throat...
Ugly blackhearted backstabbing betrayal for all to see!!!

I wonder how many "feminist" woman should have the word IDIOT printed on their forehead...
For being simpleminded suckers.... This isn't about woman, and the glass ceiling...
Its about POWER, plain and simple... "Feminism" has been co/opted by Dems as a simple
political tool... And "feminist leaders" will backstab ANY woman who doesn't spring from their
own elitist ranks, or tow the Democratic party line...

Go Sarah Go... I hope she makes it... And rams all that garbage right back down their throats...
She is definately the type to do it, thats why they FEAR her...

Palin is the ultimate woman in my opinion. Attractive, Independent, Smart, has a large family,a Husband who even Bill Clinton says is a "real man", A good career and is now up for the highest political position a woman has ever had(in America). Yet feminist scream and yell that she some how betrays all woman.

nothing about this election can be compared to the past
it's history in the making
the veep debate last night meant more to this race than the 3 Presidential ones combined
if Palin can't get the votes, John will lose to the socialist liberal semi black dude
as far as last night - Palin came across as much more approachable - isn't that what the whole "change" theme is about???
if almost 30 years in the Senate gives us a joe biden, then term limits should be enacted immediately as his repetitive hot air was nauseating and an embarrassment

I think a good mod would have made them stick to the questions asked.

Americans tend not to like that kind of moderation.  We call it "snooty" or "arrogant," or even a kind of bias.  It's a problem with journalism in general in this country; it's wishy-washy and non-commital.  If a politician says the worlld is flat, journalists write "so and so said 'the world is flat,' while others dispute this claim."  A British journalist, on the other hand, would tear them apart.

Electoral-Vote.org is a very accurate site, they take all the polls and combine them together.

Lets be clear, when was the last time a VP debate drew 37% more viewing audience than the Presidential debate?

I don't believe any debate has ever attracted 70 million viewers. Still, it doesn't appear to have affected the polls all that much.

Sandy I believe the closer we get to election day the more the polls will swing to the rep ticket. Why? They don't want to look so far off when rep. wins.

Im conceding that Obama will most likely be the next president and I will support him until he screws up one time then I am going to be the dog on his ankle from that point on.

Americans watched the debate to see if Palin will self-destruct... or not.

I don't believe anyone has ever recovered from a 7% deficit this late in the game.

Well I didn't get a chance to watch this debate, so I'm watching it on youtube now.. All I can say is listening to this bimbo talk is already making my head hurt.

That's like wishing for the LA lakers to beat Boston Celtics on Game 7 2008 NBA Finals

Do what I did when I watched the NBA Finals... just sit back... and watch as they self-destruct :aok

What Yeager said.  I'll be just as supportive and respectful of Obama, on the day he takes office, as the democrats have been of Bush since he was sworn in.

But he'll have to have a nickname.  "Chimpey" is already taken, and would be inappropriate in Obama's case at any rate.

Hmm...gotta think a bit.

Did Palin actually answer a question?  Biden was excellent, he answered the questions head on, and provided facts.  He clearly laid out there plans, providing statistical data. He proved himself as a great debate and a gentleman.  Big time Biden win!  :aok

this is where you fail.

That plan should take you through Inauguration Day at least. Day two you'd better get a flea collar.

As of today Palin is out campaigning, instead of talking about issues she resorts to bashing Obama.

Could this be a proof that they already lost on issues?

what issues?

To the mob that's an undecided electorate, the only issues now revolve around who can spin what. On the other side, the dems are busy playing the same game AND rounding up homeless felons and illeagls and passing out the right to vote to folks that have not earned it.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the economy is so big now that it just might block out the character attacks. The economy is a losing battle for McCain/Palin at this point and I don't see how he can dig himself out of it.

Hm, I thought the whole ordeal was painful to watch.

I mean, I physically cringed as I heard one cliche after another from both persons, more so from Palin. The way they were dodging the questions was embarrassing. It was so clearly palpable that they had their give or six talking points and they'd do anything to channel any question towards them.

Why I endured it is beyond me. Waste of my time, but I was curious and hopeful about Palin. Now I'm sorely disappointed. Just another brick in the wall.

Thats because it's all the GOP has.. They can't talk about issues because they fail at them. The only thing they are good at is bashing the other guy.

After watching that debate, I think I'd vomit if McCain and Palin get in the WH. I'm sorry but I don't need a VP whom thinks she needs to talk to people like they are in elementary school. Obama is far from my perfect candidate, but if the McCain/Palin combo is the "best" the Republicans can come up with I feel sad for this country.

I at least had a little hope before, thinking that not matter how bad Bush was, they couldn't find a pair worse that Bush/Cheney. Man was I ever wrong after seeing what the GOP has come up with this time..

Isn't that statement "bashing the other guy"?
