Things I hate:
I go to sight in my .223, .243, and .270 at Reds Indoor Range... I guess that day was "bring your assualt rifle to shoot day" because in a cramped space, 9 out of 10 guys shooting having an Ak-47 or an M-14 going as fast as they can pull the trigger keeps you from shooting... good lord....
1 of those things that I hate
rant over. I can't wait till we get our M1 Garand, I'm gonna go in there and freaking shoot off 3 or 4 clips in a slow succession where no one can get a shot in. :rock
-
I hate peasants. People who spend all of their money on alcohol and cigarettes. If they didn't pay my wages while I study I would suggest some sort of elaborate alcohol poisoning scheme.
-
I hate people who complain.
-
Rough day, huh?
-
WOAH, HOLD ON NOW!
YOU WENT TO REDS!?!? DUDE, THAT'S RIGHT BY ME!!!! I took my pellet rifle to have a scope sighted there once! Do you, by any chance, shoot at any of the local IDPA matches?
(Sorry for caps)
-
i hate incompetent drivers, especially the ones that merge freeway traffic at 45mph, while traffic's goin well over 60. :D
-
Aren't there lanes at the range?
Why did a bunch of people shooting prevent you from sighting your weapon?
We had to sight our rifles in the midst of all kinds of firing, rifles, GPMGs, anything that happened to be on the range at the time when I was in our local regiment. Never bothered me, but I didn't have any choice. Come to think of it, it was outside though.
-
I hate Black Friday. Infact, i hate the whole ideal of big business desperately trying to lure you in on days like that.
-
I try not to hate anything. :D
But I do really hate the term "issues." It's such a lazy, clump-it-all-together-so-you-don't-have-to-articulate-anything term.
-
Sounds like someone has issues. :)
-
When your really concentrating a AK going off the next lane over is a large distraction. I have flinched from a dry fire while practicing long range shooting. I can relate!

:furious........Having to use a public restroom to do the number 2 and realize there is no damn tiolet paper in the holder after its too late............puts things into a different perspective.................. :rofl
-
i truly dislike the word "fair" nothing is fair, never has been, never will be.
bla bla bla.........

Reds is the worst place to shoot in Texas.

QFT, it was better when it was Cook's. My dad took home so many bowling pin trophies they limited him and his buddy to three rounds per magazine... And that was when they were both still mid-level IDPA marksmen!! :rofl :rofl :rofl

i'll repeat.......
ENGINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
only had 2 vehicles that needed to be done today at work. easy, right?
NOT!!
1)98 F250superduty, 7.3 powerstroke turbodeisel. this friggin engine actually had a MISFIRE!!!!
so what fixed it? a new valve cover gasket :huh , a new under valvecover gasket wiring harnes, and a new injector(also under the valve cover.)hours of waiting for parts, and hours of disassembly, just to replace a lousy injector. ontop of that, i had to buy a special tool to remove the injector with. who the heck decided that the old mechanical injection, that's been on 7.3's for YEARS wasn't good enough anymore? sheesh!
2)98 montecarlo. needed a power brake booster. can't find one anywhere, not even the dealer. finally one of my parts houses finds it. problem? 3 HOURS to r&r it!!!! why? because some engineer decided that although simply bolting the booster to the firewall has worked for 50 years, it wasn't good enough. so thisone has a lock tab, which requiers a special tool to remove it. i couldn't find the tool, so i had to spend an hour or so making one. get the old out, after removing cooling and fuel lines, and of course i had to remove the mastercylinder and abs unit too. new one comes, and is wrong.
sorry for ranting, but it's been such a fun day, i thoughi'd share. :D :cry

I hate people who cant see their own faults and everything bad that happens to them is not their fault.
-
I hate it when I'm watching a great episode of what not to wear and Stacy & Clinton pull out one of the EXACT shirts that I have in my closet & start bagging on the gal for owning it.
(No way! That's, like, one of my favorite shirts!)

Been going to reds starting in the early 80's. We do need a good outdoor range in Central Texas.. Some days i really do miss Hill country shooting range with that old crazy guy Richard..

Which Reds? And is it the one in Texas? I go to the one in Pflugerville, by my sister's old house.

Engineers should be made to work on the front lines servicing the crap they design before they are permitted to even LOOK at a pencil.

I hate waking up and you just realize you had a crapload of homework, or maybe when you realize you have to pee real badly, the only bathroom in the house is taken and it is negative 3 degrees Celsius outside. I also hate hating the little things in life.

I hate fat people and bad drivers. Fat people are usually bad drivers, so that sort of covers both bases. I was out driving today.... enjoying the weather and few new parts on my car and I was bombarded by fat people (in skinny clothes too... gross flab hanging out every direction) and retarded drivers. 20kms under the speed limit? "Oh, it's Sunday, that's ok". NO IT'S BLOODY NOT! Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrr king hell.
Bike and Vespa riders too... avacados shouldn't be allowed on the road.
Just watching lazy, fat lards wobbling around and driving slowly pisses me off... chicken wings flapping as they fight with the steering wheel just to turn into a carpark.
I also hate how fat people have NO sense of their size. I was at a 21st last night and there was one really fat girl there. The ONLY person to bump into me more than once the whole night was this fat cow... every time she walked past me....I was love-handled, fat-elbowed or gut-slapped. FFS :furious Not only that but she was the only who didn't apologise when she bumped into me. Fat, useless and rude... should have burnt the retard with my cigarette when she wobbled into me. Oops :lol

That's what I always said, then I joined the Coast Guard. Now I have no choice but to do what they tell me :aok

Wait, I had no Idea there was more than one Red's. And yeah, that one.
There's a 2nd one in South Austin IIRC.
There used to be a great outdoor range out by Belton or Burnet... but they closed down. You'd think that since this is Texas, there'd be more places to shoot...
Sounds like something from "Out of the Silent Planet".
Sounds more like someone sneezed then put "ville" at the end of it.

I hate people who judge other people by there looks or size, or who smoke cigarettes!!!!! those are the people I really hate those friggin smokers, who do they think they are smoking a dangerous substance, don't they know it will kill them, well seeings how they don't, I will take it upon myself to make sure they know and if that does not stop them I will push to have laws made that will make it basically a crime to smoke them anywhere outside there own house.
what about all those Tattooed people i hate them also, who do they think they are being an individual wanting to stand out in a world of "Jones's"
and what about those people who think they should not where a helmet or a seatbelt, dammit I will make sure every one of them where one "for there on safety".
Damn it all, I must control all these Fat, smoking, drug using, speeding, thrill seeking, Tattooed, self thinking, alcoholics...
who cant control themselves.
-
I quit going to the Red's in Pflugerville after they laughed at me for asking about range discounts for active duty military.
Buncha stuck up tards.
-
Hahaha.
It's got nothing to do with controlling people, it's got to do with people being repulsive and annoying.
People who are fat due to medical conditions are fine... If you can't help it, you can't help it. Fat people who get in the way, bump into me and roll around the supermarket with trolleys full of chips, frozen pizzas, coke and chocolate piss me off.
Worse still is when you see these lardos with a little piglet or two trailing in their wake.... Kids that are so badly over weight they look nearly twice their age. Because fat mum or dad are too lazy and stupid to do anything about their poor way of life their children will suffer both physically and mentally. I can't see any excuse for that behaviour.
-
I had no clue there were so many AHII fliers down here in P-ville. It's kinda weird. :lol

ummm well brother.....ah....ummmmm....h ate to be the one to tell you, but......ah......ummmmmm..unt il stacey put your fat arse on a diet and made you quit drinking this was exactly how i described you! (course you were never around at the time :D )
course you quit smoking then start again then quit again then start again then quit again and start again.......you switch back and forth more often than a bi-guy in a college coed bathroom. :huh
loves to the family :aok

i still say it. when all of their engineering degrees teach em how to replace that injector driver module, that they buried up inside the fenderwell, then they MIGHT earn the right to design this poo poo

Dude, it would bogle the mind if you knew how many past and current AHers lived around here. Not necessarly just Pfulgerville though... and I drive by that Reds at least twice a week on the way to my parent's house

I bet I can rebuild an engine (been there/done that several times) faster than you can solve for critical interlaminar tensile stresses in an anisotropic reinforced carbon-carbon curved beam @ 2800 degrees F using non-linear analysis techniques. I'll even give you a year's head-start.
Component placement in consumer vehicles is largely driven by manufacturing concerns and speed/cost of assembly in order to keep the initial cost down. Military vehicles are generally more maintenance-friendly.
Most mechanical engineers like fast, loud, dangerous things that blow up just as much as the next gear-head. The only difference is that we somehow managed to struggle through the math/physics/chemistry to get here.
Just a little food for thought, and maybe an inkling of what I hate.
Peace :rock

Well, the Central Texas Airshow in either Georgetown or Temple is up. Maybe a lil Central Texas AHII get together? We can all chill and enjoy the airshow. :)
On a side note, who likes the look of Austin... Even though you can find better drivers in New Orleans, it's a pretty city :)
-
yea, I think the airshow is in May sometime, so we got a couple of months. I'm up for it, maybe get a room, stay the whole weekend... me, shoulman, see if Edbert wants to go... could be a winner of a weekend...
-
Interesting point Chtulhu.
I did Electrical Engineering as I did my Electrical Fitting and Mechanics trade, so I got to see stuff done from both sides. I worked on stuff designed by Engineers who had never turned a screwdriver in the field and stuff designed by Engineers who also had trade experience under their belt. I much preferred to work on the stuff designed by trade experienced guys. Having said that, I do acknowledge there are some cases where serviceability must take a back seat to safety and space constraints. I hated it when I was building gear, and I'm sure the lineys hated it when they had to fix it.
Oddly enough after I finished getting qualified I discovered I absolutely hated it. I'm now re-qualified as a Front End Specialist and working on putting a couple of others under my belt.

The one in Temple is around Mother's Day each year. It's always one of my mother's day gifts from my kids ~ to take me & see the Pearl Harbor reenactment. One year we were running late and saw the thing from a little bit afar ~ it was far, far better seeing it from a mile away than on the field.

i'll do ya one better.
you come to my shop. when that part breaks, on the engine, that in all obviousness, cannot break(thus the poor access) i wanna see you fix it.
or better. i would liked to see the guy that designed the FI system on the 7.3 powerstroke deisel fix the one i just had in the shop the other day. the absolute simplest internal combustion engine in the world, and they managed to make it as relaible as a gas engine.
i realize i shouldn't group all engineers into a single catagory, but c'mon......
chevy malibu. power brake booster bad. need a special tool to remove it, as it's no longer bolted to the firewall. what was wrong with bolting them there? it didn't work well enough for the last 50 years?
i could go on, but i don't really wanna piss ya off...........i WOULD like to see the engineers that design tyhis poo poo have a requirement that they WORK on the things they design first. i bet there'd be a lot of things designed differently.
now, all that said.......
thanks to engineers, i'll NEVER build a carburated street car again. FI is the only way to fly. more power, out of les fuel. driveable in ANY weather.....no more 3 or 4 tries to start, then give her 20 minute warmup......so i do realize they can do good.........

It used to be in Georgetown. The Devil Dog would be there, A-26 and everything. It's almost always the weekend of May-3/4 or on both of them. (I remember it vividly, as I've been going to the airshow when it was at Georgetown every single year till it was moved to Temple.)
Since I only live about 20 or 25 miles from temple, I'd only just drive down there, and come back...
I'll see how we can get it together :)
-
I'll mark it on my calendar and start a post for the air show in late march or early april. Its about 80 miles for me to Temple, not too far but I prefer to just spend the night there rather than do all that driving back and forth.

I hear you! I live out in the country and the main roads out here are two lane highways with a speed limit of 60MPH. EVERY weekend there are hundred of stupid mountain bikers in there little spandex outfix and stupid helmets cycling on the highway. One of these day I'm just going to floor it and see how many I can take out before my truck stops. :furious

funny thing 'bout that? they tend to drive the same way they walk. :rofl

I walk (and drive) just like that. And I hate impatient twits that think they own the sidewalk or road. If you don't like it ~ go around for crying out loud. That's what they make two lanes for.

well, i will, i know.......but if i wanted to take an hour to make a 20 minute trip, i'd get on a bicycle(at least in the summer), and help my health a bit too.
here in fabulous nj, we have waaayyy to many people that have no concept of slower traffic keeping to the right. we have people that come down the on-ramps to the freeways like they're on a sunday drive...and then they STOP at the bottom merge. what the heck?? a have traffic cruisin at 65+, and you're gonna use all your hyundai's massive horsepower to match that in 50 yards?
just silly little stuff like that bugs me. :D

Make sure you attached 20 ft chains on the back of you truck. Once u run over them, you may snag a few and drag them thru yuccas and cactus.
