Title: Survived a 3 on 1
Post by: Getback on December 03, 2008, 05:49:41 AM
Nope didn't kill any of them. I was just greatful to have made it back to base. Something so weird about seeing 3 ponies fly past your f4s six over and over again. Did manage to get them low and slow and close to base for my squadies to kill. You could tell they were getting pretty frustrated at the near misses.

Yeah I know many of you have whipped folks in a 3 on 1. For the rest of us survival is pretty darn good.

i once managed to p-off 10 to 12 people and get them all to chase me for over a sector back to my base. i managed to keep them just out of accurate gun range and very low on the deck (under 100' mostly) the entire way home.

there was a horde already upped from my base with some alt. the horde included my 2 squaddies (who were en route to try and save me already) and 15 or so other friendlies. i managed to land, missing most of my parts, but i landed and not one of my pursuers made it back to their base. i believe that my squaddies JETSOM got 3 and KILLSOM got 2 kills out of the group.

The complaining on 200 about stick stirring and running ect was unbelievable, but i got 2 salutes from those that realized i had suckered them into following with no alt right into the mouth of a trap and managed to be the bait that lived!

it was a fun moment.

I got 3 of 4 the other night.  The 4th one augered on his own.  Of course, I was in a Spit XVI and they were in P-47D-40 bomb trucks and were'nt flying in any type of coordinated way.  So much for that v-base killing excersize.

I love killing n00b mishins.

I had a couple good 2 v 1s tonight... I had my Aussie flag hoisted, though, so I was flying a Spit 8 and thus had the advantage.

It was still fun... It's hard tracking a second con in a cockpit you're not familiar with, I got a little disoriented a couple of times.

i believe i remember that night  fun fun, <S> bro

normally i die quite allot, but one night i was just "on", and it seemed like i could not miss,  i was attacked by at least 8 planes i think there where more like 12 or 14 of them, but its hard to remember with all the ducking and dodging but i landed with 7 killz of those who tried to kill me, and on another night, i was attacked by 4 and killed every one of them, that was one of my best flights i have ever had.
when i started out it was easy to get the Adrenaline pumping, now it takes me to get into a serious fight, with multiple cons and even then its not the same, but if i am doing good, targeting that is, and say I've killed one or two of them and I'm still fighting, that's when the Adrenaline starts pumping, and that's why i love this game so much, to get that adrenaline rush, no game ever has done that, normally i have to hit 130 MPH,or more to get that kind of rush. and that is not smart,(to many safety issues).

and were'nt flying in any type of coordinated way.

that right thetre is the key.

when i see guys that are obviously working together, then i KNOW i;m in trouble.

safety issues? safety issues? you are one of the best drivers i have ever seen, if there has ever been someone born to drive nascar it is you. can draft less than 6" off a bumper without a hitch great reflexes you got the entire package.........BUT YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO PARK THE DAMN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!! that is when you have your SAFETY ISSUES!

other parked cars telephone polls buildings ect they all pose such tremendous hazards for you while parking. you should just stop in the middle of the street and let someone else park for you. that would be the safest way to go!

1 vs multiple is fun. Only reason why I take my k4 up at 4k and run into a blob of red. It feels good to last like 5-10 min even though dont' shoot anyone down=p

I so agree, my favorite thing to do is to take my hurri up to about 13k, and come into a red cloud of the two nme countries fighting, that is a total blast!!!

I took the time to hang with Cap in the Midwar and did have a good time.  The pace is much different than the MA and is a refreshing change.  It seems all folks on all sides were for the most part quite gentlemanly in their behavior.  I opted not to continue as most of my squaddies are hopelessly in love with the LW MA's, and I do love hanging with my fellow swine.  Howdy & Salute Cap!

The best (or worst depending on your point of view!) odds I've actually survived was 5 on 1, tho I didnt actually realise that till I checked the gun camera as 3 of them were flying the same plane and I never had more than one in view at a time!  :rofl I managed to get 3, the other 2 ran away and I rtb'd feeling quite chuffed  :D

The worst odds (in numbers) I've ever faced was in the first frame of the Midway FSO. VMF-251 had 10 F4F-4s against 100-120 D3As. We got 21 of them, but took a lot of lucky pilot wounds and pilot kills in return. Myself and my wingman RTB'd to one of the carriers. I was about of gas, guns totally empty, and counted about 50-60 holes in my plane. And as soon as I touched down on the carrier deck a B5N out of nowhere dropped a bomb on me.

Numbers don't win fights, but they sure as hell help. :furious

lol omg my dream happen to you=/. One time time I was w/ a group of 109G14. I dunno what happen to the mission briefing but we were told we'd be taking their enemy fighters not their bombers. So we went up w/o gondolas or w/e the extra package is. We patrol 2 sectors for 30 min and nothing happen. Then we spotted alone B17 and shot it down. Then we ran into probably 50 B17s =p. Obviously we didn't do much dmg since we only had 1 20mm. Anywho, we went in empty our guns, I'm not sure how many we nailed but we were rtbing w/ Pilot Wounds, engine out shots, gas line hit. Then we bumbed into the escort. It was a squadron of P47s (obviously fail at rondevou as usual). They caught us empty and shot up. We tangled w/ them for another 15 min and I finally disengaged. I think 2 of us made it back home alive=p it was me and someone else. 2 out of 20+ !

I've been in plenty of 3 and 4 v 1s (and more). I think they're quite a bit of fun if it's with some guys that have enough courtesy to not HO. The only problem is, in a horde, people have the "Miiineee miiineeeee" mentality, and will get the kill anyway they can

I hope you filmed it and maybe realize what you would've done better, or better yet.  What you did do to make it out.   Learn from it and build your skill set further.

Too many times this has happen, and here was my best story of a bad adv. I was flying around when I got low and slow to kill a spit in my G6. I look around to find that all of my country men had died. there were 2 other spits flying around, so I was 3v1. I fought for about 3 or 4 mins, countering every move that each of the other spits were doing. The best way I found to win is to get one on the defense, then work on the others that have the offence. It becoms a contiuous adv. on your part and you can never get shot down. So, I fought for 3 mins. then some country men came in and saved me. I killed two of them before it was all over, thats why I was happy. :)

I love fighting multiple cons on my own. Nothing like entering in one of those and get at least one of them before you go down in a firey death.

My most memorable was 3 ponies (1B and 2 D's) while I was flying a KI84 (something I had only flown a couple of times at that point). Was a blast doing a rolling scissors with multiple cons and then having one slip in front of my guns  :D

As usual though I died but I at least took one and almost 2 of them.

Thanks Karaya! Nope didn't film it. After thoughts were "I sure was glad one wasn't a spit".  :rofl I know the acm I was using. Something I'm sure is similar to what Greebo uses (I think). Only he would have killed them.

If you want me to tell you let me know and I'll PM you if that is okay. It's nothing major and you probably already do it.

I had a 3v1 over the weekend. A 109G-2, a Ki-84 and a Spit16 vs my big, fat A-20G.

Seeing a dar-bar heading towards the base I had just taken off from, I dumped my ord and began climbing in the opposite direction. When they arrived, they simply dived in after a low friendly. They didn't notice my Havoc up at 6k... All three were in the tower pretty quick. A couple came back again, and received their express return ticket. I landed and grabbed a fresh A-20 (lost an engine when one collided with me.. He went boom). As I rolled, the 109G-2 returned and dived in for the vulch. At the last second, I pulled off the runway, almost vertical. The 109 missed, shooting under me and then augered a split second later. After that, they went elsewhere for fun. I can't remember any names, except the 109 driver; Oceans11.

My regards,

Widewing
