What's your views? Everyone says the Eagles will win, but I do think Cardinals have somewhat of a chance.
-
I say the eagles get a woopin.....
-
Cards have been good as of late, and probably will win, the Eagles only just barely even made the play-offs in the first place, now that being said I hope the Eagles win. :aok

Eagles had a better record than the Cards in the regular season in a much tougher division.... the only reason the Cardinals are even in the playoffs to begin with is the atrocious division they are in. The NFC west needs to re-organize, cuz an automatic berth in the playoffs for having a better record than the Seahawks, Rams and 49ers is a joke.
I guess people forget the 4 TD performance McNabb turned in last time he faced the Cards' 28th ranked defense. That he was sitting on the bench watching the practice quarterback take reps at the end of the third quarter.
Carolina was over-rated at the start of the season (defense ranked only 12th at the end) , and showed just how much by putting up that stinker of a game last week. Philly meanwhile has gone through all of it's divisional rivals (including winning in Dallas and NY) to get where it is, and has been among the top 5 teams throughout the season in both offense (5th) and defense(4th), even though they needed help to get into the playoffs.
Eagles are going be firmly in control by halftime. McNabb will be in a lounge chair by the start of the 4th quarter, on his palm pilot booking tickets to Florida.

The Cardinals knew they weren't going to be challanged in their division by Week 5. By the time they had become 7-3 they had nothing to play for. They beat a good Dolphins team, the Bills when they were still undefeated and beat the Cowboys before they got banged up. Even after that they gave the Giants a run for their money.
They had to travel across the country 3 days after playing a physical game against the Giants. That Thursday night game was unfair for them. The Pats game was a wake up call. They dominated the Rams the following week, dominated the Falcons for 3 quarters, and demolished the Panthers. In the past 2 games they have had 7 picks and 2 fumble recoveries. They have been able to stop the run all year. Westbrook won't be a factor. They will force McNabb to throw picks. The O-Line has stepped up in the playoffs and Warner has plenty of time to throw. Boldin will be back. Their running game has come alive in the playoffs. The Eagles D won't be able to stop the run and defend the pass. They don't have enough depth in their secondary to cover Fitzgerald, Boldin and Breaston.
You might want to watch the team play before you do an analysis, instead of listening to ESPN.

I admit they played a great game against a Carolina team that was fat and happy and looking past them, and who couldn't defensively match up with them. That being said;
The Eagles have one of the deepest secondaries in the game. They can and will match up in single coverage on the AZ receivers, freeing up blitzers. (They did this last time they played AZ, and put Warner on the turf again and again, forcing him to release earlier than he wanted. Resulting in 3 interceptions and 2 FF's) Carolina couldn't do that. And the AZ running game...lol. TD's set up from a yard out by your pass offense isn't a running game. Hightower lacks the speed, and James lacks the interest anymore. Westbrook has more yards rushing than both of them, combined. (Hightower 399, James 514, Westbrook 936)
And, did you REALLY just say "dominated the Rams" as a compliment to the Cardinals? That's pretty much the funniest thing I've heard all season.
Final score 31-17 Eagles.

I'm guessing you haven't seen the past two games. The Cardinals O-Line isn't the same line that the Eagles faced in Thanksgiving. They have given Warner a lot of time in the pocket the past few days and have only given up 1 sack. In the past 2 games James has 130 yards rushing and Hightower has 99, Westbrook has 74. The Cardinals are also playing at home. There is no way that the Eagles would be able to match up in single coverage to Fitzgerald, Boldin and Breaston in SINGLE coverage.
Regular season stats don't matter in the playoffs. It's a whole new game.

Yep. That O line looked absolutely wonderful against the 24th ranked Atlanta total defense.
Looked great against the 18th ranked Carolina total defense, too.
Comparing rushing from two games is pretty unrealistic, as well. The Eagles faced the #1 (Minnesota) and #9 (NYG) rushing defenses in the entire league in their games. I should hope they had a bit more of a difficult time rushing the ball, than Arizona did facing the 20th and 25th rushing defenses (Carolina 20th, Atlanta 25th) You should realize your stats need to be weighted, not by your heart.
Let's just see how good they look after they face the #3 combined ranked Eagles defense (4th ranked rushing defense, 3rd against the pass), this time around. I'll listen to you then.

Gotta remember with the Minn game. the vikes were missing one literally very big 6-3 317 pound reason they have been ranked #1 against the run.
both the Gi Aints and the Eagles exploited it too.
Im just glad Eli Manning isnt in it.
Every time I look at him he reminds me of that neighborhood little brat kid you just want to backslap every time you see him just because.
Cards I think will make a game of it.
They are playing like they have nothing to loose. which makes them dangerous. and they have one insane good receiver.
I give em a punchers chance.
With the Eagles.
Depends on which team shows up.
-
This is hard to say, but Go Beagles! :cry
I'm tired of Mcnabb getting railroaded. Eli, Tony Homo, Delhomme(before 6 To's), and all the other "all-american" QBs get a free pass compared to Mcnabb. He's gone to the NFC championship 5 outta the last eight years. I think that equals Montana's record and is better than Aikman's as far as NFC championship appearances. It's impressive considering how different the league was then, how many weapons those QB's had, and how dominant those teams were overall. Also in a league with parody where 1-15 teams turn around and go 11-5, it shows stability.
It's fair to say he's choked in many of these games, but most salamanders in the media jump on him the 1st chance they get. No doubt they will if they lose this game, and I don't wanna hear it.
All that being said, I hope Pitt./or Balt. spank the NFC rep in the Super Bowl.

Cardinals-Steelers...Y not...

Eagles do the same thing the Giants did last year. Beat the Cowboys in the playoffs and take it all the way.

Carolina was 9th in total sacks this year and Atlanta was 11th. The O-Line held them to 1 sack combined.

I'm not saying that the Cardinals are going to destroy the Eagles, I'm just saying it's going to be closer than you think.

LOL, networks just BEGGGIN for Cards/Ravens superbowl

Need some salt to choke down those words? :D

Wow kinda surprised that McNabb and company didn't get another shot at the Super Bowl this year. They were the team I thought of the two playing today that had the best overall team to get it done.
-
Wow Moray you should get a job at ESPN working as an analyst.
-
I picked the eagles so the cards would win. :aok Well I just became a CARDS fan after watching my game. :salute

MOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You called it, Jay.

Cardinals in the super bowl? stock up on food and water, the end of the world is coming

Wow, I was surprised the Cards pulled it out. McNabb shouldn't get railroaded at least.
The moral lesson I learned was that Kurt Warner said that Jesus made this happen. As a Dolphin fan, I sure hope Bill parcells drafts Tim Tebow after next season. I don't care if he is a pro style quarterback or not! All I know is that he is the biggest saint in college football. Dang, now I wonder if we are all supposed to root for New Orleans or be damned???!!! :devil
-
Though McNabb made some good passes in the game, there were some easy crossing routes where he was throwing behind his receivers. One of the more costly ones was on their final drive where it was 3rd and 10 and he missed a wide open receiver by throwing it behind him. This could have made a must more manageable 4th and 3 or so.
-
Well this was the game to see who would be SECOND place in the league.
Also, Philly's D played horrible. Also where was theyre special teams. desean jackson?david akers? They did nothing yesterday.
Congrats to the Cards but sorry. Baltimore, Pittsburgh put on the show yesterday. <--there games are always exciting and way better than anyones else. Pittsburgh will dominate Arizona. To be honest, Baltimore would dominate Arizona as well.
Pittsburgh 35 arizona 10

I called the police, yesterday to report a mugging.
Kevin Curtis on that last play (4th down) for the Eagles.
Maybe the officials were trying to make up fpr the play where they called the kick was out of bounds, but it really wasn't? Last time I checked, you weren't allowed to grab receivers by the leg BEFORE the ball gets to them. Yes, McNabb had 3 tries before that to feed the ball to someone, and failed.
Not to take anything away from the Cards, mind you.
They played very, very, hard. They played like a team that was hungry and played every down like it was the last. As much as I hate to admit it, they played like a team that wanted to win.
I got my favorite shirt in the parking lot after the Eagles lost on MOnday night 42-0, in the snow, back in 2005 (at least I got to see them retire Reggie White's Jersey :aok )
I guess it's not time to retire my favorite shirt, though :furious

I don't think the Steelers will blow out the Cards, but I expect the game to be close. The aerial attack for Arizona is too powerful and even with the Steeler blitzes, I think Warner will check down to his RBs quite a bit, or he'll throw it up to Fitzgerald. So I think they'll be in the game, but I say the Steelers by 2 scores.
-
Curt Warner needs a little respect for what he's done. The guy is always written off and never get's much recognition, but you have to admit he is a GREAT QB. The league is full of "look at me" idiot's, but the "ned flanders" of the NFL keeps plugging away and putting up hall of fame like numbers. That was a pretty good game on sunday, but as usual the Eagles found a way to lose yet another NFC Championship game. The key drive that Warner led in the fourth quarter should(but won't) put him among the leagues greatest quarter backs of all time....he reads the blitz so well, and his ability to read the secondary as quick as he does is amazing. I am a 49er fan and I have hated Warner forever, but he has earned my respect over the years and I hope he wins it all this year.....however if they lose, I can't really say I care too much. Should be a good game.
-
If Kurt Warner wins the super bowl will he be the first QB to win a super bowl with two different teams?
-
If Kurt Warner wins the super bowl will he be the first QB to win a super bowl with two different teams?
I dunno. I do know he can handle multiple personalities...just observe the wife ack he deals with. :aok
-
This game is going to go one or two ways.
It's either going to be extremely close, or the Steelers will blow the Cards out of the water. I'm wanting the Cardinals to win, I think Kurt Warner is a "Cinderella Man" is a sense, goes from stocking shelves to having a successful NFL career. Not bad.

I agree but I am leaning to the Kurt Warner been there and done that too effect.I think hes going to have a good day.The question is will Ben have a better one?
Obviously the Steelers have the better defence so the wild card is will Pits. D score?
