Title: A question for the SAPP
Post by: SD67 on January 15, 2009, 01:55:15 AM
We need a new blender, and I thought I'd ask the experts.
What would SAPP recommend?

I used to have the Blendo-matic 2000 installed in mine.  Highly recommend it, nothing blends a margarita better.

Well sure if you can afford it.

Otherwise I'd recomend the Ronco Blendamatic.
Because its human powered you can take it anywhere! Grin.

True, the Ronco Blendamatic does seem popular amongst some of the SAPP members but I attribute that to the free case of Ronco's Hair Bald Spot Remover you get with each purchase of the Blendamatic.

Well the ones installed in our bombers are not for home use. Bolting one to your counter and then activating it would torque the counter off instantly. We use them to help move our birds through the sky remember. They run both forward and reverse.

For home use I suggest the better Osters. Full metal gear drives are what your wanting for cold beverages.

In fact turning one on in a 38 while not maneuvering can cause odd occurrences like the is one....

I agree with Shuffler.  Attempting to use a SAPP approved blender in the home environment can result in severe injury, or even loss of life.  Picture it, if you will.. you are ready to make that tasty beverage... have all the ingredients in the blender, you reach out to touch the elsuive "low" setting, and WHAM.... (since you mounted it to the counter so well) the torque RIPS your kitchen counter right off the cabinet, and it begins to spin uncontrollably like a heli with no tail rotor.  as it spins its way through your house, it mows down everyone in its path.  Your wife? bah... 2 halves are btter than one, right?  Dog? not any more! Cat? Might as well call your local chineese restaurant.....

Go with the Oster... its made for the more sedate home environment.

My ex-wife used to work for Ronco here in California before they went "bankrupt" (quote-unquote) and moved to New York.  You don't even want to know how many people were religous consumers of the Ronco Spray-on Hair/Bald-spot Remover.  No joke, it was 60-70% of his buisness, and the worst calls they would get were from angry old bald people outraged that their bald spot remover was late for delivery or out of stock.

Tell them to get their paint at the parts house.

Talk common sence into people who buy by the case overpriced spray paint advertised on late-night infomercials to cover their bald spots?

In Jr. High, I had a teacher that used to use bald spot remover and one day he walked out of the class and forgot his garrison cap and walked out into the rain.  When he came back in, he had these black streaks running down the sides and back of his neck.  Apparently, the bald spot remover wasn't quite water proof.

That's almost as funny as my Jr. High principle getting his taupe (sp?) ripped off by a kid in the middle of the cafeteria during lunch (~2,000 student school, so it wasn't a small crowd that witnessed it by any means).  I think that kid was promptly transferred to another Jr. High or expelled since nobody saw him around our school again.

My P-38's are all equipped with dual Hamilton Beeyotch blenders. Well, except for that one that has a pair of Killin Aide professional series blenders.

Hope Shuffler don't find out that you lost your Blender. Was it not fastened properly? See Rule 1 when you where given the Blender. :furious
