I just might switch teams for this.

This is the ONE and ONLY reason for me to switch countries.

Delta, I wouldn't expect the sky to not be filled with Lancaster's and Il2's. I hope they choose to use Ju88s and Ju87's though, for effect.

Lol, I think I will actually join this mission. I love those GV's!!  :rock

:devil On the other side, I could up Lancs. Hmm, but I do hate bomb****s.

Cant wait.

Would be great if the opposing side upped just Hurricane IID or B-25S at most. Carpet bombing Lancs and Il-2s are complete overkill against a ground force equipped with M16's only.
I'm contemplating doing this, but I'm afraid I will only get a big number of assists because of all the strafing Il-2 and fighters...

Or better yet, German/Italian vehicles only.  190F8s, Stukas and Ju88s with some air cover to support them.

That's definitely much better for immersion... but personally, I find Hurri D much more sporting against a GV raid without Ostie or Wirbel. Formations of Ju88's with 4x1100lbs isn't much different from Lancs in that regard. ;)

But they are much slower and the M16s may hit them easier and faster.

Nope... on the deck, Ju88 is faster and climbs better. Its very easy to climb just outside the effective range of the M16, which do lack the concentrated firepower & range to blast the buffs before being carpeted themselves.

I think he means that as far as a ground mission attempting to give its participants a good time (without more than M16s for AA) goes, carpet bombing in the MA with Ju88s carrying 4klbs x 3 is no different from lancs.

I am hoping to be there, but expect me to fly fighter support. I am just fodder in a gv.

Just so everyone knows, the fighter slots will be filled on
a first come, first served basis and there are only a
limited number of fighter openings.

I want this to be primarily a ground vehicle assault
and will setup the missions to achieve this result.

So if you want a fighter, be quick to join the mission
when its posted!

Sounds like a good time.  One question though, normally the bombing runs are good for an extended period of time, a GV raid will provide a capture within a few min.  Will you have a second or third base mapped out to continue the fight?

PS.  I'm in.

True. Hopefully it will just give that WWII feel to it. Hopefully there will be a nice GV battle and a historical air battle (Ju87s and Ju88s, maybe even 110C's?).

We will have Slate. But it will be minimal.
If you want to fly within the mission,
you will need to grab one of the limited slots
soon after the mission is posted.

sigh, i guess I'm going to have to man a wirble.  I'm sick of joining gv missions on to have the wirble gunners aiming directly AT the plane flying sideways.   LEAD your shots I say, do they listen?  No, they just fire wildly at the b-17's  that are 15k in the air.

sigh.

waystin,

Not too sure how this is going to work out.
Since its a GV mission it will depend on if
we get a tactical setup we can exploit.

Hope it works out...

ROOK [MoM] Suspended Until Further Notice

Guys, when it rains it pours.
My PC took a dump Thursday.

I'm looking at my options now but
for the forseeable future I will not
be playing and that means [MoM] is
on hold until I return.

I will more than likely be building my
replacement PC and will probably be
soliciting feedback on the forums on
how best to configure it for optimal
AHII performance.

I hope to keep the same case and PW I have
along with the peripherals.  I'm hoping
I can get buy with buying a new motherboard,
CPU and memory for the time being and then
upgrade the video card down the road as
finances permit.

So I'm sorry guys, but I'll be back and then we
can resume [MoM] operations.

Until then, keep your powder dry!

96Delta

P.S.  I apologize to players on our mailing list
(all 200+ of you) that may have gotten duplicate
messages.  I was using a relatives PC and the
message sent confirmations were not appearing.
Again, please accept my apology for sending you more
than one message.
