I would like to apologize to everyone who was on early Saturday night. As you may know (if you were tuned 200) I totally just blew up. I don't think ever in my life I've had as bad of a day as today. My behavior was totally unacceptable and I apologize to those that I may have offended.
A little while after my 200 incident, a fellow countryman that I usually always kid around with, or get him worked up, had a few words, and I did something I will always regret. Bare with me that this kid was like the kid that cried wolf. He had told me one too many lies in the past (really only takes one for me not to believe you). Anyway, I made a comment about his mother only to find out later that his mother had actually died last month.
The rest of the night only got worse for me. It was like I was being punished. Every sortie ended with little to no kills and a death for me.
Yes, I know this is a game. Like many, I get carried away sometimes, and I work on a short fuse anyway :lol. But as a result of tonight, I detuned 200 and even questioned my staying in the AH world. As of now I'm still here, and that's the way I would like it to be. But after tonight, I felt really stupid.
So, to all that was online at the time, I do apologize for my rude behavior. That is all.

Sorry to hear it Banshee, it happens to everyone.
-
Seen that flip out last night on 200 :D just pull the power lead out of the wall and go do something more interesting. But it wasn't the only 200 flip out of the night or the worst by a long shot :lol
-
we all say and do some dumb s&*^ from time to time. It's called the "human condition".<S> carry on.
-
You'll learn banshee that its easier to Alt F4 when it happens than to do damage control the next morning.
Just pull the plug and walk away.
-
Key kiddo its all good. You may have flipped out and said some things that you regret, but you made it all good apologizing here for all to see.
We all have those days when anything you do turns to crap. I know I have my fair share.
-
Banshee, don't worry about it. It takes a lot of guts to own up to a mistake. It takes more guts to own up to it in public. The AH community is pretty forgiving though. We all have days/nights like that. (Pretty much what Heritic said.)

we all have bad days and say stupid stuff especially online.Much respect for ya owning up and and being an adult about it.The 200 is my show as it really gets retarded at times
-
Sorry to hear it Banshee, it happens to everyone.
No it doesn't. Not to crap on Banshee here, but he is just another in a long line of people who go overboard and then apologies on the boards and everyone pats him on the back and says "ahhh its ok bumpkin, we all get that way sometimes". If people who are tired of the "crap" that is allowed in the arneas continue to allow this stuff then it will continue.
In AW there was a much tighter code. If you stepped out of line once you where warned by the community. The second time you where harassed to no end by the community. The third time you were ostracized by the community. Instead of telling these people that it's ok, everyone should let them know it isn't and there will be consequences. We have Stokes in the other thread crying about be muted for his bad mouth. Tough luck buddy, learn when to keep your mouth shut!
Yes we all get frustrated at this game, but like Ghosth said, just <alt> F4 and go take a break. I've done it many a time. Enough coddling these people, you screw up, your out. HTC is too easy on the offenders. I know hes working to keep a profit here, but there has to be a limit.
-
We've all done it at some point, bro. Things happen (usually in a short timeframe) that can send one over the edge. It takes cajones to stand up, admit to a wrongdoing and appologize. :salute
I agree with detuning 200. From what I've seen, nothing good comes from talking across countries at war in public.
No need to even think about leaving for something we are all guilty of at some point in our lives. Besides, if you left, who could I slap around in a bomber dogfight? :D......... that is of course after you smacked me around in about 6 different fighters, of course. :o
Now get up and KILL! :salute

To the naysayers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6cxNR9ML8k (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6cxNR9ML8k)
Its a game. One where people do things that can piss you off, sometimes repeatedly. We've all lost it at some point, yes even numerous times. Its human.
-
Hey man, when ya have 200 or 300 competitive folks on at one time tempers will flare. It's the nature of the beast. The lord knows we've all had our share of regretable moments. I think that you coming here and publicly apologizing is quite telling of your character and is to be commended sir. :salute

<snip>
I knew there would be someone on here that would say I'm just looking for sympathy or whatnot. Well here you're wrong. After I found out that his mother actually DID die I felt like crap. AS many of you know I talk a LOT on vox, and when I'm almost dead silent something's wrong. The whole time after that I was sitting there thinking "what if MY mom had recently passed away?"
I didn't post here to get a "pat on the back." I posted this in hopes of someone in the squad would pass on my apologies to the player because he logged off.

And like I said I wasn't just picking on you. Yes you made a mistake, and you felt bad about it, that shows promise right there.
The point I'm trying to make here is when people do step out of line it should be pointed out, and not tolerated and swept under the rug as "well it happens to everyone". It takes "cajones to stand up and apologize" to quote someone else, but it takes bigger ones to walk away BEFORE it gets out of hand.

I do agree. I've always been told that "it takes a bigger man to walk away." Just seems that online all that stuff goes out the window :lol
-
I wouldn't beat myself up too bad Banshee. After all that's why the rest of the community is here. To do that for you. :lol :lol
Those things happen and honestly if you had that information before hand wouldn't you have reacted differently.
-
So, to all that was online at the time, I do apologize for my rude behavior. That is all.
Your "apology" should be directly to the person you offended..imnsho. In addition to the preceding..if you cant keep the fact that this IS a GAME involving an individual sitting in front of a CRT/LCD manipulating a stick attached to a machine, then y'all better move on.

No it doesn't...some of us know how to control our temper.
Even better, some never get that worked up. ;) There's basically 3 levels of self control:
1. People who lose it.
2. People who would lose it but have learned to control it.
3. People who's emotions rarely get red-hot in the first place.
#3 is my ideal, #2 is frequently my reality, but I haven't really reached #1 since adolescence.
-
Instead of telling these people that it's ok, everyone should let them know it isn't and there will be consequences.
That is a rather black & white way of looking at the situation. Most people are perceptive in judging a person's character by his/her actions. We've had Banshee7 on our channel numerous times. I believe he is a well-intentioned young man who makes mistakes like the rest of us. The difference is how we deal with when we screw up. There are times & places for rigid codes, but being this is supposed to be a fun environment, there's a lot of grey area depending on behavior. Again, it is dependent upon the character and actions of the individual.

Turn 200 bloody off.
You know, there is a sociological observation I've made about people, especially the last few generations of boys/men we've raised, or rather, half-raised. Smack-talk in life in general and especially on 200 is the level of monkeys throwing feces from the safety of the trees. See, world is full of those who want to feel tough but don't want to see any blood...especially their own. You are not a monkey, you are a hominid, a direct descendant of the Australopithecus who first dispensed with all this screaming, excrement throwing, bluffing baloney, by quietly picking up a gazelle femur, and rendering his tormentor neatly dead. You're in the arena primarily to kill and die. If you get them...no need to say anything. If they get you, don't make them happier by acting like you care at all. Let me tell you something, a <S> is nice I guess, :) but nothing makes me happier after a kill than a "Nooby-haxxor/cheater!" P.M. :) :lol If you absolutely must tell someone why something they did is stupid, do it in a PM so it doesn't make a public drama everyone else has to deal with.

I wouldn't give a dime for a man who never lost his temper. The world has too many people that you could kick their dog, insult their grandmother, and steal their T.V. sets, and they'd still be dialing 911 on the cell while you were running off with their property. There needs to be at least some selective pressure against utter love muffinery, to put it in Darwinian terms. :devil

Well said. Now there is an objective well-educated view. :aok
I can't quite figure out these people who are out for blood, like they have NEVER went over the edge at least once. Maybe they have and are past that point now, and thats great. We have a diverse group of people here, and the other guy is not always going to respond the same as you would in a particular situation.
The truth is, there are people out there that will intentionally try to push people over the edge, because they are pathetic and can do so hiding behind a keyboard many miles away without risk of having some teeth removed.
If ANYONE out there thinks they are above being pushed over the edge, PM me and I will put you in touch with my ex. She could make the pope cuss.

Bah, I see people preaching from the pulpit as if they never make mistakes. All your glass houses have shattered panes, hypocrites.
I hope that the next time each of you errs, should you have the stones to admit it, your noses are dragged through the mud.

:rofl Yes, there is an appropriate amount of anger for different situations. The people you describe above are weak. Even in the situation you describe, however, it is still possible to exhibit too much anger. I guess I have greater admiration for those who collect their revenge with the clear-head of a martial artist. ;)

Turn 200 bloody off.
I tuned 200 once. Ten minutes later I was sufficiently unimpressed that I detuned it. Several months later I tried again with the same result. I'll never understand what the attraction is. To each there own...
Throwing feces indeed...

Banshee
Sounds like you tried to hand out a pile of ----- and got handed back a bigger pile and had no choice but to eat it, (so to speak )
You obviously made a mistake and realized it quickly, very mature move on your part. I don't have to tell you what the immature move you made was, you know that as well.
Your a very good stick in this game, detune 200 and let what you do best speak for itself in game, that's flying. I have never understood what the fascination with 200 is :noid ? Especially with the folks who are very successful in game, actions speak volumes over words, leave it at that and move on.

Well it's good to know that all we have to do is say I'm sorry when 30 minutes of vulgar, sexually explicit, racially charged name calling is allowed on 200. AND where is a moderator when all this was going down? But at least you see the error of those ways and at least offered an appology. My dog on 13 year old son happened to be online and observed it all. I had to answer a few questions from him and quickly detuned that filthy channel. 200 should be eliminated until people can control themselves.

Loosing your temper or handling a situation rationally are two different things. You kick my dog I'll ask you not to do it again, you do it again I have now rationalized that your an idiot and I have to explain it a bit better by kicking you in the nuts. Did I loose my temper, nope just had to approach the problem from a different angle :t
Yesterday there was a big argument over the use of a CV. A high ranking player had control of it and a much lower ranking player thought he knew better. It escalated to all kinds of name calling and in the end the base wasn't captured, and the CV got sunk anyway....most likely because everyone was watching the fight on 200 in stead of the one over the base. The point is there wasn't any point in fighting over the CV and the name calling shouldn't happen. Had I been the high ranking player I'd have asked if they wanted it turned back into harms way and if more than just the one wanted it I would have released it and gone about playing the game. No need to argue. Had I been an HTC moderator I would have warned then muted both players, no problem.
This is a game to have fun. When there are people who are belligerent and causing trouble spoiling that fun they need to be reminded that their actions are not wanted. If your in a bar with a lot of people having a good time some a-hole gets out of hand and starts pushing everyone around. Does everyone just let it continue? In most places I've been the owner has people there just to take out that kind of trash, if they don't they call someone to take out the trash. Here, its more up to the community to teach what is acceptable, and what isn't.

I'm glad to know I can act like a damn fool and then just go sorry

Hardest thing I've learned in these 48 years is that I'm responsible for everything I do. No one can make me do or say anything if I don't choose to.
It sucks, because I can't blame anyone or anything for how I react. It's so much easier when you think you can blame someone else.
I can choose to be angry, choose to say things that are hurtful etc, but it is a choice, even more so when it comes to taking the time to type it on 200 or any channel.
And frankly there is nothing in any game worth getting worked up about as it isn't life and death.

When I first met ya banshee you wouldn't have given this a second thought, yea we have ALL at one time or another gotten angry, but no we haven't all flipped out about it. But you my friend have grown leeps and bounds since I have known you. Tho I'm disappointed that you needed to appoligize, I'm proud of you that you have.
Next time it happens that you get mad, and it will, remember this event and let it slide without comment.
Your a good man mr Banshee, your just not always a wise man. But you will be. :salute

You must be talking about someone else*. Nothing that I said or the other guy said was vulgar, sexually explicit, or racial. I just simply told to guy to go crawl up in a hole.
The real reason I'm apologizing is what happened shortly after in the other arena on country channel. I offended someone by talking about their mother, whom died last month. I didn't know this at the time.
*The guy you're talking about is probably Harold3, who is doing the same thing now on country. the guys Im flying with are talking about him doing it o 200 too

Just do yourself a favor, just dont tune 200. I stopped because, I got tired of all the 14 yr old keyboard killers chest thumping. None of which have ever wore a uniform, or still live in there moms basement
-
Banshee7 knows i like him...he and his squad will fly on our ch when they feel like it and they are ALL nice guys...on our ch Banshee7 has never been disruptive or rude....
That being said....you (banshee7) have a tendency to overuse ch 200 IMHO...last night I watched you basically self-distruct several times and one time when i tried to joke back at you to lighten you up we almost ended up at odds...listen to what Fugitive and Dentin are saying...they are on the money....if you are not feeling the love that night just log...
Many times a night I am tempted to type something...luckily i rarely do...especially in the heat of the moment...a few flights later I'm all better and can't remember a thing....
I dislike ch 200 being used as a troll channel...even with good intent...IMHO it should be used mainly to <S> a good fight or have a few good laughs....talking about 80's music is always a good start in this crowd....
-
I dont tune 200 half the time because so called "Men" yip yap on it more then 13 year old girls.
-
We all mess up. I find it good to type something out that you wold like to say....then erase it. I have so many times typed something out to read it and think if you hit enter your a putz whiner cry baby. So I delete that and type nothing.
-
Golf is just a game too....but a Mazz AH blow up makes a golf blow up look like a serene vacation destination. ;)
Fixed. :)

What is this channel 200 you speak of?
-
Obviously you've not learned to control your temper. :P
Get off your high horse, poser. I never said everyone has temper tantrums. I said everyone makes mistakes. Did you miss basic reading comprehension both times you were in 5th grade?
-
What is this channel 200 you speak of?
From what I've seen, it's a hack. If you pull up your radio and type "200" in the channel bar, it taps right into an elementary school chatroom. :D
-
Banshee I tune 2 3 4 and our squad ops channel and nearly every day I fly I get some noob/dweeb/whatever/take-your-pick sending me PMs about (c-word) (h-word) or (s-word) and God forbid the (p-word: PICK) and yes it gets old but I try to remind myself that there are young kids playing the game. It gets to me too as you see here:
My thought on the situation is that if you get irritated easily its because you are trying your best to give whiner guys a fair shake and they still cant be nice unless you make it absolutely a cherry-ized victory for them and even then some of them cant be nice because they dont know how. Most of the junk on 200 is BAIT with a giant treble hook in it.
Any of you rooks ready to confess now? :D
-
For those of you who haven't figured it out allready...MidEvil is Tripl5

I could list about twenty-five others that act the exact same way... this will be skuzzy-fied maybe but its just a sample and not as bad as it gets by any means.
-
Chalenge btw....Everyone is telling me that you suck
Well MidEvil did but he is everyone

Ha! Well he died 2v1 to someone that sucks then. :salute

I'm giving you a hug Banshee7. True men know the error of his ways.
I'm giving a hug to the guy who lost his mother too last month. I lost mine too so I understand.

You've heard me go on a rant before- it's all good bro.

I just can't dumb down my language use to get through to you, 'bye. :)

Banshee7 always seems friendly enough to me. Everyone has their watermelon days and everyone gets carried away and makes stupid choices.
I have a 'policy' with AH in order to always keep it fun and prevent it from turning into a source of aggression like I have seen so many times in-game.
Basically, I always try to keep it civil. No matter how lame, dweeby, cheap and annoying some people can be... I always try to let it go. I just content myself with shooting them down next time and not getting overly involved in it.
I've had moments where I've ignored my own 'policy' and started talking watermelon to people on 200. I always sit back after I've logged off and think "I just acted like a complete avacado".
For the most part though, I play it cool and as a result I feel like I get more respect from others who play the game.... Green guys and red guys.
This makes the game much more fun.
