i am trying to update firmware for my computer, but when i download them it puts a icon liek this on desktop, and when i click it asks me what program to open in? when i click somtin it wont let me

my router is

wireless g router WGR614v9

i had to wipe comp last night cause of issues, so lost these updates

If you upgrade your firmware then wiping your computer does not change that. You only have to worry about drivers when you wipe your machine. The firmware for the router should be intact.

k well, maybe its driver or something, idk i am havin horrable lagg on games, and last time this happend i had load one on my comp

Did you open ports in AH? Also may just want to reset your router.

see last time this happen i had to load something, im not sure if it was firmware or driver, maybe one of you guys know, i am on a computer upstairs, the router is downstairs, i have a wireless connector plugged into my comp, so what would i need, driver or firmware?

Well, if you wiped your comp, you may need to get new drivers for your wifi connector.

i have check netgear website, all i can find is firmware downloads, no drivers
