Title: Titanic Tuesday Missions
Post by: Haplo81 on April 01, 2009, 11:34:38 AM
Last night's Titanic Tuesday was fun.  On the bish side we ran some great missions, with main goal being to do something a little different and have fun.
We ran a:

P40-E mission
Stukka raid
Bn-5 CV strike
Jeep/M3 raid
B25 strike
and a few others.

Thanks for the many who joined and had fun no matter what the outcome was.
Thanks to the Rooks and Knights who we engaged and engaged us.   It was fun to try something a little different.  :salute

I thought the missions were poorly planned, and even more poorly executed.

At least they are trying to do something different and fun besides as longs as they had fun who cares if it was planned well or executed well?

There is nothing new about what they did except that they had fun instead of worrying over a game. The 80th has flown these type "missions" for quite some time and we always have fun. It is good to see new folks finding out about the "fun" side of this game though.

As for poorly planned and poorly run? I see that 24 missed the whole point of said missions.

The only mission I ran up against was the P40 run and I was low on ammo so my fun was limited. But I do have to hand it to those guys, they didnt put a hoard up against an undefendid base. They came into 152 which was swarming with rooks heading into the 152 to 153 furball. It really made for a nice fight even if it didnt last long.

Was a lot of fun guys  :salute

You should just stop thinking. It doesn't do much for you anyway.

Had more fun last night than I'v had in the MA for a long time, was fun to jump in planes I haven't flown much.

Same people that piss and moan about NOE missions were complaining about the missions coming in at altitude...some of you guys are ridiculous  :lol

very true Ciaphas. I presonally LOVE NOE missions...think about it...20-30 cons on the deck...isn't any easier than that.

I'm not quite that particular. Although deck can be nice :)

Someone hit our field's town the other night from NOE in 110's. I went past wep almost flapping my arms all the way up to plaid (think Spaceballs) trying to get to the feeding frenzy which started as soon as I got there.

Was a pretty good Rook Noe mission into 233 last night.

Otd Lancs and asst. fighters, bastaiges even had the sak to bring the goon right up front with the Lancs.

Only a couple of us got up.

I think I had the chance to kill 2 and die twice before the base was taken.

I'm pretty sure it became Rook property in less than 2 minutes.

Very well orchestrated run!! :salute

Tonight the Rooks tried the same mission that they used last nite on 233.

Exact same, 4 or 5 sets of Lancs on the deck and asst. fighters.

Didn't work this time.

Great fun! :aok

The NOE B5N mission was an eye opener!  I saw our CV flashing, but no dar bar, and upped to see if I could find anything and boy did I ever!
I make a bad move and Joker got me before I got my 4th, but Wax got 13 kills and 10 assists before a fuel leak drained his tanks and he had to ditch just off the CV.  Funny part was, the CV wasn't damaged, no fire, no smoke, NOTHING!   :aok
They tried some more NOE stuff to the port just SE of the CV's position, including parking goons on the island, but for that sector, the best was the B5N's.
The sky full of B25's and A20's was cool, just too many to counter at once.  Dunno if there's something in the AH coding that prevents more than a certain # of planes being rendered, but I was seeing planes disappear and reappear a lot during those encounters.

<S> to the bish who planned and ran the missions!
