For the haters that think me continuing my "303 Squadron Salute Tour" is dweebish: You will be happy to know that no matter HOW dweeby you think flying nothing but the Hurri 1, Spit 1, 5, and 9 is, I will CONTINUE this for the rest of the tour. The Poles had it tough in WW2. They were looked upon as "replacements" by the RAF, who could only be used when there was an extreme lack of pilots. But as the RAF and the rest of the world quickly found out, they were good...damn good. I don't want to compare myself with the Poles, as they actually had it rough. In game, people are "discriminating" against me and the Spit. If you don't like me flying the Spit, then oh well. I have the privilege to fly whatever cartoon aircraft I would like, thanks to the HTC staff, and not one of you, or even a whole group, will change my mind about flying my "dweeb tour" as some have called it. As previously stated, I'm doing it for my own personal enjoyment, regardless of some of the negative opinions and comments I receive.

People complain? Sheesh! You're flying a Spit 1, 5, and Hurri 1 for christ's sake! I can understand the Spit 9, but the others? They wouldn't even have the nuts to fly them.

the question is who was it?

The majority of my kills (only 31) are in the Hurri 1, too!
the question is who was it?
I'm smarter than that. I'm not listing names as there is not just a few people that stick out.

My comment was directed at the people who complain about him.

I hate flying these birds just because it takes so long to get to fight. Now on a TT map ill fly them anytime
-
I've talked to the other "party". It is water under the bridge. Topic is dropped as far as both parties are concerned.

When you lose both alierons in a hurri 1 that plane is almost totally unmaneuverable. Found that out today the hard way, still managed to land it with a few kills. The funny part was when twentyfo came down to try to pick me he missed haha!
I find it silly people complain when others fly certain planes. Those planes are in the game aren't they? As long as people are having fun- that is all that matters.

You know I was reading or watching something on the Poles that flew for the Raf and after some investigation it was determined that the Poles were the only Raf pilots that ever shot German Pilots in there parachutes. And when one surviving Pole pilot was asked about it he said he did it more than once, because they were fighting the eastern war and they didn't fly for honer but to kill Germans because of there country being occupied.
-
Don't pay them any attention Banshee.
I read up about the 303 Squad after talking to you in the TA, interesting stuff. 2 reasons why they were good, they already had more combat experience than most English pilots in the RAF and they were after vengeance for being invaded. :salute
I will see you in midwar in my blue Spit 5 Banshee. LOL :salute
Malap.

Gawd i h8 those spit dw33b haxxors.

99% of the people on this BBS have not even a slightest clue of the Polish Air Force. Let alone, why they did shoot chutes (the Germans did it to them as well) or ram bombers when out of ammunition.
The Poles flew with a lot of Honor. They also had the most to fight for out of any Country involved in WWII and were sold out afterward.
-

And if you believe that the Poles were the only RAF pilots to shoot chutes, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you. That applies to suggesting that pilots from any country as a standard practice shot at pilots in chutes. Pilots from every country did, but I'd suggest it was a minority of combat pilots as I would imagine most probably could see the situation reversed and trust they would have a chance to survive if having to take to their chutes.
-
I'm sure pilots from all participating air forces shot enemy pilots either in chutes, in the water after they ditched, or on the ground after they belly landed. RAF pilots couldn't have been an exception. British pilots were desperately defending their homeland just like the Poles tried to do, and I'm sure were just about as aggressive about it. Most of the accounts I've heard the pilots excused this by saying the enemy pilot was good and they could be saving their countrymen from being shot down by the guy later.
As far as the early planes...I wish more people would feel that way about early models: maybe the early war and midwar arenas would be worth the server space if significant numbers of players wanted to fly spit 5 against 109E etc. As it is very few people fly in there and it's a little boring, and in fact finishing number one overall in early war isn't regarded as much of an accomplishment.
-
Hey I think you miss understand my intentions, I was not trying to be disrespectful. I was only trying to make the point that even though the Brits were fighting to save from occupation, The Polish pilots were fighting A whole different war then the Brits. And the fact about the Polish Pilots shooting chutes, well there were a lot of accusations and the only ones they could prove were the ones against the the Polish Squad, because they admitted it. :salute
-
If I have learned anything in the past month or so, it is to be respectful of differing styles of gameplay. I may not find it all fun (certain things in particular), but who am I to judge for someone else?
That said, I don't blame the Polish squadrons if they did kill the Axis while they floated down in their chutes, particularly if it was over occupied Europe. The Poles lost everything, they had nothing to lose killing those that wore the uniform of those that destroyed Poland.
Besides, it was done by all sides. Here is a first hand account...

Banshee, don't let a few bad apples spoil the whole bushel, it's a game! Fly what you want, when you want. I can't believe there would really be anyone who cared what you flew, but I'm wrong alot of the time :D. Its a game and only a game, at the end of the day we are all dweebish :rofl :rofl

If someone was actually talking trash about this, then dweebery has been taken to a hole nutha level.
-
Like I said, I will continue flying my 303 tour.
Waystin:
I agree. Even after I explained to him and the rest of the arena WHY I was flying the planes, he still called it dweeby. That's just one case

Banshee is such a dweeb..... he said Hooters is sponsoring his next tour. :P

Neo-maxi-zoom-dweebie! :lol

Honer? A harmonica? Chuck Yeagar absolutely said he shoot a chute. He thought, "why face the S.O errrr dude again?"

I really like the idea of a themed tour. I am trying to fly the P-47 D-11 and the D-40 (bomb truck) this tour. Take note, I said "trying". I am not the best cartoon pilot out there. A tribute or salute tour is a pretty cool idea. I might have to try it next month too.
-
You're taking it too seriously if you feel the need to post this. Just my opinion.
-
< Has been on a 'themed tour' for the past year and a half. :D
Cool to hear you're doing that, 303rd. Good luck :salute

In game, yes. Game as a whole, no.

Got to give it to them. Their Cavalry was made up of real horses. On the last part. Are you talking about German Elbe pilots?

Several Ju-88's were rammed by Polish pilots in order to keep their bombs from falling on cities.

Gotcha. Yeah saw a thing on LW pilots ramming b17s on history channel I think. Live footage was crazy. Few managed to bail at the last moment. Never seen anything on Polish Airmen though.

The Polish Army actually saved all of Europe from a massive Islamic invasion in 1683. The Ottoman Empire was at its height, controlling much of the Middle East, North Africa, and a significant chuck of Europe. They sent an invasion Army of over 150,000 to split Europe in two. They quickly overran the Austrian defenses, and laid siege to the great city of Vienna.
The city was only saved from a Jihadist slaughter by the arrival of the entire Army of Poland, which included over 20,000 Calvary. They had marched all the way from Poland, to lift the siege of the city. The Winged Polish Hussar Calvary was perhaps the most feared fighting force in the world at that time. Here is a photo of how these Knights were equipped when they went into battle:

Here is a famous painting of the battle, showing the Winged Hussars crushing the Muslim forces of the Ottoman Sultan:

If it had not been for these brave Polish fighters, everyone in Europe today might now be Muslim.

Heinrich Ehrler - 209 confirmed victories, KIA April 4th 1945. After shooting down two B-17's and running out of ammo, Ehrler is reported to have said, " Theo! (Weissenberger) I have run out of ammunition! I am going to ram this one! Auf Wiedersehen! I'll see you in Valhalla!" and then he ramed a third B-17. His body was found the next day.
wow intense

It's interesting to note Patton said "don't you die for your Country, let the other dumb bastage die for his". Words to live by.

BOB. The tension between the Polish and British pilots was compounded by their language barrier. Unable to talk out their differences, they coexisted in awkward silence. :rofl I know the feeling. :D No. 303 http://www.historynet.com/the-forgotten-few-polish-airmen-fought-during-the-battle-of-britain.htm

Hey Banshee. Sounds like fun. Keep it up!
