Title: Informal AHlogo Contest

But you can change it to anything you like. C:/HTC/ahlogo
When I was with the A8's they made a couple for their members. Here's an old one I found.

And here's the one I'm currently using. It has some dirty smudges I'd like to find a way to remove but I still like it.

Who has the know how to make an even better one?
Ya never know, Maybe HTC will use it

Post by: A8TOOL on April 29, 2009, 03:29:05 PM: Not sure what size it needs to be or if it matters. I have four loaded and they are all different sizes but still work on my machine. Needs to be saved as a Jpeg file though and renamed Ahlogo if your going to use it.

I looked at it the same as changing any of the other thing that we can within this game for personal taste, sounds, gun sites, etc. Not to mention what you can do to the game offline. Heck, Croduh turned it into Star Trek. Anyone remember that? So I don't see changing your personal startup screen as an issue. Maybe if someone at HTC reads this, they'll comment. I've actually been doing this for people for a few years now.

I remember that. Sadly, I never got to fly it. :(

Croduh actually made an A319 and a Cessna for my Airport terrain. Sadly I lost the source files due to a reformat.

Post by: weazely on May 02, 2009, 10:06:47 PM: Not to big on just filters for image editing. It is a combination of layers and different effects to each layer. I used the following "effects"

*Curves
*Levels
*Brightness and Contrast
*Channel Mixxer
*Soft Glow
*Sharpen
*Gradient

I think that is all. Ill think about any others.

Where are the dirty smudges ? ... you mean the blurred shell casings being ejected ?

And yes Stokes, thats the whole point of this. Look for the file called AHLOGO and rename it something else. Then find the pic you want to see and name it AHLOGO.

You can do it with any pic of course but having the AH logo or some form of it just seems to bring it all together.

Can you get the film viewer to render with anti-aliasing? The jagged edges have always bugged me in my picks, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it.

You have to force it on with your hardware, like the game. It's separate, and probably not listed, you'll probably have to browse to ahfilm.exe. The nice thing about the game and the viewer being separate is that you can have extremely high, unplayable settings on the viewer.

Yes.
Turn it on in your video card global settings as one option that I know of.

Of course! Everyone is welcome to use it. It's at a 1400x1050 resolution, which fits a 1680x1050 monitor fine.The original splash screen was 1024x1024. Not sure how mine will look on a screen running a resolution other than 1680x1050.

Someone posted a picture of, if memory serves, a street in France. Half the image was a modern day pic and the other half was during the occupation in ww2. I thought that was too cool and had to do one myself. :)

I didn't realize what they were.

Sometime after calling them smudges I ended up finding a smudge tool in Gimp and used it to smudge away the smudges...heheh

It looks a lot better now.

Not sure who created it but Thanks, I've been using it for maybe 5-6 months. Found it in The Exchange of everyday screen shot thread but haven't found it yet..

What do you mean? The point is the contrast. Specifically highlighting the the yellow RVG band. Having more colors shine through defeats the point.

In fact having the extra yellow from 'Jagdgeschwader 11' screwed it up I think, changed that to black and put the noise layer over it like in 'Aces High II'.

Haven't seen it red, I think it would look fine though. You're dealing with something else, though, as the primary colors contrast a bit better (the roundel, bomb stripes etc. ). In a late war Luftwaffe aircraft, beside unit markings, you have something that is all earthy colors that do not contrast well against each other in the same way red, yellow and blue do. Even in your picture the green from the bombs and rockets doesn't look that good IMO. To each his own I guess.

I also realize now that I didn't touch the brightness/contrast or layers :lol

Here we go... deeper blacks and whiter whites, nothing 'eye popping' though. Guess I'm a bit conservative in that respect :lol

WOW, that does look nice Weasley!

It's something you can stare at for a moment and try and pick out the highlighted colors. V-Nice :aok

Motherlands is very nice too. It's simple and clean subtly showing all three yellow bands colored in, plus he's blended the Aces High ll name into it making it a nice login screen.

u have to take out the original ahlogo file and put your new one in and all you have to do is rename it to "ahlogo" just like that then put it in your HTC folder :)

If enough room, there is a P-47 on the FW190's tail trying to take him down. Maybe a little puffy ack and more combat boxes of flying fortresses in the background.

of course the AH logo would be in one corner and I'd have the "100th Bomb Group" name in the other corner if this was my logo.

If you saved as .jpeg it won't work, change it to .jpg

In reality, this is what AH2 is all about, flying your favourite ride and gunning down every thing in sight. I’m sure the screen shot would be almost orgasmic if the 3 planes being shot down were 190s or 109s. :D

I'm not really bothered, just playing around with PSPPSX2.

I like it! You used HTC original idea, there are plane parts all over the place, your shooting at one guy while another out of view is killing another, the shell casings can clearly be seen as with the air field which is a nice touch.... but there is one prob.

As Denholm said, it's not very historical, heheh. All the planes in view are allied. Its still looks great though! I mean, how many shots like that can you get?

LOL you seem upset, i would be too. You covered up the name of the original owner, haha. I play AH2 alllllll the time, just I prefer offline. You know getting screenshots and editing them. You may think I "troll" which is very funny, but I have minded my own business and only post to topics I find interesting.

Here is one that I kinda like and am waiting for the squad to respond. MiG, our C.O., created the center image. It was not my doing, and the small Cutthroat patch is on our site. The Cutthroats were originally an Air Warrior Squad started by Boa in 1996.
