Kinda like to get a poll going but don't know how to start one.
Are double spawns
1. Good for AH2. Because spawn campers deserve to get 100 kills
2. Bad for AH2. Because spawn camping is just about the dumbest thing to happen to this game.
in conclusion: my wish is for double spawns to be removed!

Love it, one of the best features in AH2. Constant action, its great when their is a large # on each side. Its not terribly hard to break a camp in a gv, if you cant then just bring eggs like everyone else.

Moving spawns apart just means you need to drive further to camp. Otherwise nothing would be different.
It's not like roads mean anything other than where not to drive because of convoys. You can't set up ambushes or make roadblocks when gv's can drive anywhere with impunity.
I would worry more about making terrain viable first. Speed penalties for cross country travel. More roads that present an advantage for using them, IE: getting somewhere faster. ETC.

I'm saying, we need to reduce spawn camping. It's detrimental to good game play.

Having close range double spawn points practically guarantees some camping. Its your choice to spawn into it.

says the king campers :P lol

I hit a tank at the spawn point sitting on my field once. That's the closest to camping Ive come this tour.
-
I havent camped once this tour.
Yeah in 9 days :rofl

I have about 90 kills, no camps unless you count what I said above as a "camp".

I know camping will never go away, but it seriously needs to be reigned in, and eliminating double spawns would be a good start. Fights aren't necessarily suppose to be fair, but being killed before you can even put the tank in gear is ridiculous. Even a simple increase in the time between when you can see the enemy and before they can see you would help. If the tank spawning in can have enough time for 2 shots, spawn camping would be very hazardous for the camper. And that suggestion would be a very simple variable change I would think.

At killing ground combat, maybe...
-
If you believe camping is the only form of ground combat, why don't you go fishing with some dynamite.

Actually, I do. (Not the dynamite part.)
Doing away with double spawns will not decrease camping. It will just take a little extra time to get to the spot to camp.
GV-ing in AH is all about camping. When TT was retooled to do away with long range camp-sniping it pretty much killed TT.
Double spawns give you instant tank action. The only need to move is to find cover. If anything, they promote gv-ing.
People are always going to camp spawns. Doing away with double spawns won't get rid of campers. Look at the people who will drive to a V-base and park behind the spawn hanger.
What would be really interesting would be double spawns that span in the same place. No telling if the next guy would spawn in front or behind you.

This has been done a few times in Heavy Metal Sunday, with a lot of people its ab soulute chaos but fun.

Every single gv fight turns into a spawn camp whether you like it or not. I could sit 2,500 yards away and people would still say I was camping because I had another spawn ranged which is crap.
Its like people want you to shoot them then move around so they can kill you easier, I never have trouble killing campers its easy to do.
Practice your gv'ing and it wont be a problem.

I don't. However removing spawns to prevent camping is like removing planes to prevent vulching. It's an extremely poor solution to a small problem.
-
Camping doesnt make you a GVer anymore then vulching makes u a fighter pilot.
just because u can camp a spawn, doent mean ur a HS GVer, usually means just the
opposite, that if the enemy got off the spawn ur donut would be dead.

Yes keyword "usually" camping a spawn is good practice for speed aiming. Try this once, set up 1600 in front of their spawn facing head to head with them when they spawn and dont hide behind anything. Half the time when I "camp" I park right where I spawn in and just start shooting.

Don't want them removed, just seperated. Everyone has probably been involved in the 85-88 (i think) camp/fight on Titanic Tuesdays. If the tank you just shot had to drive for more than 5 seconds to get back to camping, would it improve the game or make it worse? And don't think of it in terms of "No, I'll get less camping kills that way."
I would be a pain for map makes, but make "reinforcements", i.e. tanks spawning in to defend a base from a different base, have to drive to the fight. When I see a V-base under attack, I up at the one being attacked and try to defend it. A lot of people just up from a different base and go straight to camp mode, with 10 friends. Everyone has probably seen a group of 5?, 10?, 20? country men circle the spawn and just blast anyone. Is that good for the game?
A lot of people keep referring to how it IS in the game. I'm asking how to make it better? Would gv fights, NOT CAMPING, be improved with the spawns further apart? Yes or No?
-
No, and unless the hangers are down, defending a v base against 5, 10 and 20 isnt that difficult especially if they come in scattered.
-
I have never cared much for campers. However, there is no need to change things. A little practice, patience and determination can break any camp eventually. If that fails, there is always eggs... :devil

I really don't think it will make any difference at all. Double spawns = instant action, for both sides. And, if you think about it, double spawns also do not give the advantage to either side. Spawn in and whoever is fastest....
Move the spawns further apart and whoever drives there first and can get behind the spawn can get a leg up on those spawning in.
It really just comes down to time. Spawn in and start shooting or spawn in, drive a few minutes, and start shooting.
