Ive always flown planes that are "not easy" (in noob terms) Jugs, 190A5, Yak, 38, 109F... etc etc... planes that are effective and lethal (especially the yak) but not typically easy to get kills in for a new player.. I did this out of necessity, having flkow bish a LONG time, I was never too thrilled about the idea of getting really good in a 5 eny ride, only to not be able to use it when needed most, so I stick strictly to 20+ eny planes.
But today Ive been flying the Spit 9.. and I love it, but.. its a forbidden love... like a really really hot 2nd cousin.
I like how it feels, how it reacts to inputs.. its not so much its performance numbers. but that it behaves the way I feel it will.. Its hard to explain..
I'm having a conflict within.. its 20ENY.. so.. but its a spit.. but its not the best turning, fastest, or best armed... it short legs It has plenty of shortcomings, and is not "spuer fantastic l337 dawg" like some other planes (appear)
spits get no love.
But I think its ok, I own my spit guilt, it doesent own me. I can stop flying it any time I want. Just not today.. tomorrows not looking good either.

Of all the Spits the 9 is the one I like. I do use the 5 on occasion (mainly base defense). I haven't ever felt comfortable with the others. I don't seem to jump in them much anymore but I do still stop the cursor over them when in the hanger choosing my weapon.

The 9 is a great plane. Fly what you like and don't follow the crowd. You'll appreciate your accomplishments more. Anyone can land a few kills in a pony or Spit 16. But the ENY of 20 plus, that's some decent flying and there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

Yeh, your Spit 9 has made mincemeat of my Spit 5 a few times recently. :cry
But in all seriousness, I say keep upping that Spit. I have flown a Spit XVI a few times recently, and for some reason I can't live nearly as long and have far fewer kills in the Spit XVI than I can normally get in a Spit 5.

Not that I'm much of a Spit driver, but I agree with this. I always wondered why people wanted any other Spits.

If you feel you're getting bored doing the same old thing fly a plane you haven't tried or rarely fly. Makes you feel like a noob again. :D

I don't understand this logic,
if all you have flown is 20 eny planes, man you are missing out, on some very awesome planes.
I say dirty your self even more take up the LA7 head towards the biggest red dar you can find, and find out what a true Monster of a plane can do.

since i have been playing, I have 1 kill in a LA7.. and that was a vengeance kill of some tard who vulched me when I was landing about 5 tours ago.

To me it's the closes plane to being able to feel the inputs as if you were really flying it. I haven't come across another plane in the game with that kind of feeling at the joystick.

If you're just flying eny+20 ur missing out on Ki-84 (eny 15).
It's the most fun plane for me as you can pull some wicked reversals on people and the guns are quick firing (makes em one turn shots efficient). You can pull some beautiful vertical manuevers on spits and rip their wings off, leave them scratching their heads! Calling out that you're a zero dweeb (yea, when you make some of the MA donkeys believe ki-84 = zero in turning youve succeeded). Also it's kryptonite to K4 drivers who go vertical, cause its climbrate is enough to make life difficult for em.
Oh and it has a kamikaze escort skin. Sure, spit9 has the pink skin but the novelty wears off same as with wearing pink thongs.

I hate to use the word "love" but I guess that's the closest word for my thoughts on the LA's, I don't fly the LA7 often, usually it's my plane of choice to up from a base under attack, put in 50% fuel, and baby that thing can smoke anything. but of course it does depend on who is doing the attacking.
