Title: Drop tank dammage

I do.
I ones got my singe fuel tank of F4U-4 damaged, came home on a drop tank lol.

Would be great if drop tanks would explode.

they do when u drop them and if your clsoe enough to the group u can see. Strangely though it does no damage.

Post by: Cajunn on May 13, 2009, 07:39:12 PM: yep a lot of players keep them on with 75% fuel and if they up there ride for defense or short ride to fight they just drop them on the runway. I say it's more of a hazmat problem then the fire departments. :D

It's a gun cam film also and I too couldn't find it when I looked for it.

+1, I think there are more important things to be modeled, but I wouldn't have any issue with the slipper tank (aka my fuel home...) to ignite a bit... ;)

It doesn't do damage because it isn't modeled to do damage.

Generally when the discussion of damaging ordinance is brought up the consensus is that rounds would not penetrate the bomb casing.

Cannon rounds are usually HE. So it would be even more difficult to punch through. In any case the bomb case is a cylinder it would be extremely difficult to get a good angle on it, ignoring penetration altogether.

Perhaps a good way of taking out troops on their way to the maproom.....like napalm....
