:aok releases this winter!
-
hope its better then the 1st one
-
Way too repetitive and boring. Sorry cant seeing it doing as well as the first, seeing how many of my friends were upset with their purchase.
-
Are they the sort of people that don't like Metal Gear Solid either?

That has a character named "solid snake" right? That alone would prevent me from ever purchasing that game.
-
first one was a bit repetitive but i still liekd the atmosphere. hopefully they impropve in onti why can i spell sometimes when im drunk and othersn ot. interesting.
-
Ah!!! the second is looking promising and thought the first was repetitive, the history and it's scene set (not to mention the unbelievable graphics) was IMO well worth the time I spent playing it.

It's just the Japanese influence man....
If you missed the first one on PSone.... you might not get it, but MGS4 is awesome.

Reason number 2 I would rather claw my eyes out than buy that game.

"He's going to hurt himself....and when he does..I wont help him"
:rofl

Normally I'd say the same thing.... but it's my favourite game of all time.
What is not cool about tactical espionage and crazy story lines? The first Metal Gear Solid was the greatest game I ever played... It's not constant action... but the constant evasion of action.... that sounds bad... but it's exciting.
The new one was fantastic... I came home from work and played it for hours.... Surround sound... sneaking up on soldiers and cutting their throats... f king fantastic.

Ever try Hitman? THAT's a great game for sneaking around.

Hitman is fun... but i have to say, Metal Gear Solid for playstation is still the best game i have every played.

Never judge a book by its cover. Metal Gear Solid is probably one of the better gaming franchises out, the last one was diddlying fantastic.

It's stupid that your ignorance keeps you from enjoying some of life's simple pleasures. Ignoring games just because they're Japanese or have Japanese influence is just sad.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to this sequel. Skipped Assassin's Creed on the consoles and waited for the PC version that included additional investigations for each assassination, broke up the repitition of the console versions quite a bit. It also looked so much better on the PC than the console and mouse/keyboard was just as easy to use than a controller.
I hope they keep the horse mounted combat in the sequel. Used to love running at a full gallop into a patrol of Crusaders with my sword swinging and mowing them down. Was also cool to jump off your horse in the middle of the patrol and watch your horse help you out by kicking Crusaders off their feet so you can finishing them off with a sword blow.

Halo 3 is where it is at, with the pros getting sponsored by major companies like; Old Spice, Stride, Dr. Pepper, and ESPN. The Halo community is growing very fast. :aok :lol

I avoid things not made in America when I can. When I must purchase something made in an asian country, I go for things that at least seem American. I am not fond of the Asian asthetic, nor can I take much of their ideas of entertainment. I won't avoid buying things because they're made in Asia, but i won't buy things that appear Asian, or appeal to the Asian markets, because I find I just don't enjoy them.
-
MGS is about an American and has an American-based storyline. There are some Japanese influences but these are not the dominate themes or issues.
You can tell that it's made by Japanese people but the story doesn't try to be Asian.
You're missing out, MGS is EPIC.

Let him wallow in his ignorance, as he said he's happy to walk along with that blissful smile on his face. It's a sad and pathetic way to go through life for sure, but he likes the security of his ignorance.

Hey, like I said, I'm happy with how it is now, so why bother changing?
-
There's a whole new world out there, Serenity.
I don't want to sound like an old preaching ball-sack, but I used to think the way you do about food.
When I was your age (and I'm 22, so that wasn't so long ago), I wouldn't touch half of the foods that I love the most now.
It wasn't because I didn't like the taste then, I just refused to try it because it was 'Japanese chit' or whatever.
Now, I will eat pretty much anything at least once. If I don't like it... have a sip of beer and try something else...
Food is no different to anything else in life.... Willingness to have a nibble will open your mind to a while new world of pleasure and enjoyment.
Like I said, I know what it's like... I know you won't be told what to do and that you won't like being told... that's what being a teenager is about.... so I'll just suggest it to you. Don't restrict yourself to what you 'know and like'... We're all on a never-ending journey to find the things we like in life.
Worst comes to worst, in this case, you buy the game second-hand (or new... it just went Platinum).... you don't like it... and you sell it back to someone else.

HOW MANY FRAKKIN TIMES CAN YOU PLAY THE SAME GAME OVER AND OVER AND OVER!?
Look a new weapon was stolen that no one knew about..again, oh look, it another mech that no one knew about...again, oh look its another human/cyborg enemy...again.
They are all the same, guess what, you win.
You metal gear solid people are the same morons who keep final fantasy alive, whats changed!? eye candy, everything else is the same.
But i guess we are the ignorant morons for seeing a game for what it is, the same old retold crap, ya'll are just as well playing the latest mario game or somethin'.
No more final fantasy
No more metal gear
When i want something redone and retold 50+ trimes, ill goto a asian game maker.
When i want something NEW, and fresh..ill goto just about everyone EXCEPT asians.
:Edit: rant off, i have never played assasians creed, nor will i ever.
Period.

Whats wrong with repeating a story? Some stories are so good you never want them to end, and then there are stories that the ending of which would be the worst thing to ever happen. Think hard about it.
I personally love Assassin's Creed and absolutely can't wait for the second. The amazing environment and your character's movement alone are well worth it to me. Just use your imagination: Jumping and climbing along the rooftops looking down at your target below, or walking peacefully and becoming but a blade in the crowd...
Your target can be anyone, that guard that was trying to take advantage of that woman, or that beggar that cost you a stealthy assassination. Use your throwing knives to pick them off from a distance, or get up close and personal and watch your target drop as you disappear back into the crowd.
If you have been compromised, you can always show off your masterful combat skills. Whether expertly angling your sword through your opponent's attacks or using your speed with your shortsword to give your opponent no chance to react, you inspire fear in your enemies as they brush so close with death.
Whoops, looks like I got a bit carried away, continue with your discussion. :)

OK guys what I have been able to find out about the new assassins creed is if your expecting it to be like the first your going to be disappointed. It has nothing to do with the first one, it is set in the 15th century Italy, its the same blood line but different story line. The combat engine has changed and they added the ability to swim, disarm, and he carries two assassin blades one on each arm. And what I have read was he has the ability to use all weapons in the game, and I think they extended the length and there are more missions, even to the point that there are missions out side the main city missions.( but all this is subject to change as we all know) And I loved MGS, I also love the Splinter cell series, but my all time favorite game is Ninja Gaiden I have been playing Gaiden since the mid 80's when it was arcade only.

First one overall was a pretty good game. Yea it go repetitive in the middle but it did change up at least at the end. I did feel like an idiot though when I spent 15 minutes trying figure out what to do when it flashes back to the present lol.
Ive been waiting for its release and I heard they werent going to release it until late next year but Im happy its released this early.

Western game developers are usually release unoriginal and uninspired games with only one focal point, whether or not the IP can be made into a franchise. Activision just recently cancelled and cut studios that were making great games because Activision felt that while the games might sell a few million units, they couldn't exploit the titles for all they are worth (like EA with The Sims and Spore). In addition, western studios are leary of investing in original IPs, which is why Dead Space was such a surprise when it came out, not many would think a large studio like EA would take a risk and invest in an unknown IP.
With the exception of a few titles and studios in the west, the most innovative games are coming from Japan, Eastern Europe and Russia. In Japan/Asia these games are coming from the studios like Capcom, and SQEX and in Eastern Europe/Russia you're starting to see the emergence of good publishers supporting and releasing titles from independent studios.

you cant use activision or EA as a example for anything, i would call those guys game company nazi's before any other national creed.
They killed any western based orginality in the great company bellybutton rape of 1999-2005 and on goin'.
but you have a point, ultamitly however i think ever game is going to be, somewhat like the one before it, guess that is just the way of things. doom3 quake4 return to castle wolfenstein, wolfenstein (wolfenstein, are you nuts you ask?
....i guess holly wood isnt the only people out of ideas.
but in the same note, how many times can we goto a alien planet, hell or whatever funky arse place they put us, before after a while..its all the same thing with one thing or another.
I guess the general idea/outlook of most gamers is, if you like it... play it, if not, your loss.
Sure its another wwII flight sim, would that or did that stop any of from enjoying them? nah.
So enjoy your halo 6's your final fantacy 12's and your need for speed 18's..if its good fro you, then its good for me.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfenstein_(video_game) put a ) at the end if you copy paste cause links are retarded.

In the case of the Final Fantasy series, each one is a different story set within the Final Fantasy universe and not 'sequels' so to speak.

EA and Activision are the best examples to use, despite your views on them (which I agree with by the way). They are the two largest western developers, if not in the world. These are the studios that are flooding the market with sub-par games that they can milk for all their worth. These two companies have done a great deal to kill off originality in the western game market and make the independent western developer a rare breed.
