This thread is devoted to the most awesome vampire movie since Vampire in Brooklyn. Twilight: New Moon footage is sweeping the nation. I can't wait till it comes out. Here is the preview for the new movie.

I actually think Lost Boys [the sequel stunk though] was far better than either of the two you mentioned.
-
"Vampires" who drink "blood from animals instead of humans to be rebellious" from lore = Gay. I'll never watch a single minute of the series. My wife saw it 6 times in the theater and I called HER "Gay" everytime.

Read the books, well written, plot line = too redundent.

Vampires, as a general rule, suck.
TwentyFo sucks even more.
I've always been intrigued with the mystique of Vampire Lore, but Twilight is just straight up Gay. In fact, it takes "Gayness" to another level.

Vampires should only do one thing when exposed to sunlight: Burst into flames, fly apart in a cloud of ash, or whatever other graphic means the writer decides to use for their destruction.
Unless there's some talisman or other means involved, like Selene drinking Alexander Corvinus' blood to become a Vampire/Immortal hybrid.

My hat is off to you TwentyFo. Bagging your limit early. It's amazes me how many people you have control over. I wish I had that kind of power. All I am is an administrator and you can see how people just ignore the rules of the board just to come into your threads and acknowledge the control you have over them.
Amazing. :salute

Don't encourage him, dear.
:rofl

I am doing far less to encourage him, then the others are. The others are capitulating to his power, I am simply acknowledging it.

If you're not yet married Skuzzy, I would bet 24 would be willing to "fill that void in your life". A-hem.
Then you could be a "Power Couple", the likes of which AH has never seen. ;)

I like Twilight. Is that a crime?
This is the O'Club. I follow the rules. So what is your problem? The thing about this game is that anyone from anywhere can play. We all have different interests. Sorry I don't prefer to talk about Nascar, guns, or any other thing you fellas love to talk about.

I have absolutely no problem with the fact that your social interests mirror those of my 15 year old daughter, I think its cute. I was just stating my opinion on what I percieve as a double standard, that is all. Make peace not war brother.
I don't think you know me. I could very well be a 15 year old girl.

I agree, you very well could be, which is fine if you are I certainly meant no offense by saying that. My daughters viewing and listening habits are the only exposure I have had to the topics you post so it wouldn't surprise me at all. I love my daughter just like I am sure your dad loves you, so I apologize if I offended you. I certainly hope your summer vacation goes well after this rocky start.

Yourwelcome, I am glad we could resolve this without violence :D

Sigh. No double standard at all. You are the one who is reading something into what I stated. If you cannot see beyond the perspective you view it from, that is not my problem.
You, and a few others, had a choice. You could have simply left the thread alone, but you could not do that. I find it fascinating how people coerce themselves into making derogatory remarks in a thread they should not want to participate in to begin with.
You validate his post when you do that. I mean, after all, who would respond to a troll when the right thing to do is to use the "report to moderator" link, if it indeed is a troll.

I have heard you speak. Either you are not a fifteen year old girl, or you are a fifteen year old girl who smokes cigars with a passion.
I was intrigued by the first movie and thought, "Why isn't that chick ramming a wooden stake infused with garlic in to that pretty-boy vampire's heart so that this can actually be called a vampire movie!?" followed by, "Damn, that vampire is the prettiest guy I have ever seen. Why is he in a movie and increasing competition for mates among the average Joes? Stab him!" It was a cliche plot line following many other chick flicks I had been forced to watch at a young age, and I agree with Saxman: Vampires+Sunlight=Pretty fireworks a/o burning bodies a/o the vampire turning into dust. Still though, the Native American friend was pretty cool.

I suffered my way through the first movie because my friend is one of the actors in it.
The next time I saw him I punched him for the pain he caused.

From wiki:
Cover
Stephenie Meyer has stated that the apple on the cover represents the forbidden fruit from the book of Genesis. It symbolizes Bella and Edward's love, which is forbidden, similar to the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, as is implied by the quote from Genesis 2:17 that is quoted at the beginning of the book. It also represents Bella's knowledge of what good and evil are, and the choice that she has in partaking of the "forbidden fruit", Edward, or choosing not to see him.[5]
:cry

-
When my wife was reading off the songs that "inspired" Meyer to write this crap, I said one word: "Emo". The whole "vegetarian paralleled vampires" is simply laughable as well.
Troll or not, I still call my wife "gay" and get the rolling eyes from her.

People being edited for rule number 4 (trolling etc) in a thread where the admin praises the OPs powers of trolling is hilarious. :rofl

The admin did not praise the OP's power of trolling. The admin is impressed with how many people will come into a thread they do not want to exist and post in it. i.e. "bagging the limit", requiring me to come in here and nanny the thread because of people who have no respect for the forum posting rules.
I guess I'll have to explain myself better in the future. It did not occur to me people would take this in the worst light possible.
It seems the OP controls a rather large contingency of people on this board.
Enough people want to discuss the topic, so it cannot be a troll.

Essentially, the same thing. :)

I have gotten a huge laugh out of this whole thing. :D

Actually, no it is not the same thing. Had it been an actual troll, the people would have hit the "report to moderator" link. Instead, a few come into the thread they do not think should be here, and then make abusive remarks about the OP, knowing full well they are violating the forum posting rules. I mean, coming into a thread they call a troll, and then making a derogatory remark at the OP. Pot, meet kettle. They are the ones who are in the wrong here.
There are also some who are actually trying to discuss the topic. Just because it is not a favorite topic, does not make it a troll.
-
I haven't seen it, but I am interested in seeing it. I was thankful to hear that there was actually a teen-safe movie out there that apparently didn't overflow with sexual inuendo. It's hard to find a kid-friendly movie these days... they're either 8-year old Disney style, blood & guts or skanks with their boobs hanging out the entire thing.

He is a self proclaimed troll. He has admitted as much on another board. He does this sort of thing repeatedly on that board and it is entirely for his own amusement.
You are correct that those making abusive remarks are in the wrong, there can be no argument there.
Still, those that can't help but come in and look at an obvious troll remind me of those that can't help but slow down and gawk at a car accident make me laugh. Probably because I am one of those that rubber-neck at accident scenes as I pass them. :D

My wife and daughter love this movie. I think it's just gay the way they go against all the established vampire lore, you know.....sleeping in coffins, sunlight being deadly etc etc.

I do not doubt that. Typically a troll is a post which illicits controversy via extreme points of view. This is one mild mannered thread, if you remove the ones who just came in here to attack the OP. It is also a thread where there are people who seem to like to discuss the topic and are discussing it with a reasonable level of respect. I wish I could say that for all threads on this board.
I cannot afford to label people on the board. It removes or distills objectivity.

My wife has watched the DVD.. I kid you not.. at least 40 times. I've seen it.. once was enough. Not a bad movie.. but certainly not one to live by. Heck.. my 12 yr old daughter quit watching it everytime..lol.

Looks like they're doing a spin off on the WB called vampire diaries. Oh, and second season of True Blood starts june 14th on HBO.

I wish I could clone a million of you and put three on every message board on the internet. A moderator who is concerned with objectivity and hand-modifies posts rather then just clicking the "lock thread" button in order to save what good convo there is...? Hold still, I'm going to take a picture or they'll all call me a liar.
Re: Original Poster. You really made me sad, sir, because when I saw this thread, I thought, for a brief, shining, moment, that just possibly there are 20 year old girls out there who like Aces High. Girls who like World War Two Airplanes. For that brief instant, I entertained the possibility that perhaps I will find love someday after all.
Then I opened the thread and this is what I found. You have done a terrible thing to me, OP. I hope you're happy. :(
