Title: I tried to tell them vegetarians they were all loony
Post by: wrongwayric on July 02, 2009, 08:08:28 PM
Yep, a new scientific report finds that eating only vegies is bad for you. To be precise vegetarians were found to have weaker bones. And as we meat eaters all know they taste better to. :D

I think all vegans should get a state subsidized surgery so they may live their bovine fantasy:

attach three more stomachs inside them and then hook them up:

Perhaps they "taste better" no way to tell, and even if I could I wouldn't. :) However the following might shed some light, as it were , on the benefits of reducing/eliminating animal flesh from one's diet.

"The cultures with the longest lifespans in the world are the Vicambas, who reside in the Andes of Ecuador, the Abkhasians, who live on the Black Sea in the former USSR, and the Hunzas who live in the Himalayas of Northern [Bharat.] [21] "

http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/health/2009/07/03/2009-07-03_vegetarian_diet_linked_to_weaker_bones.html

I guess you thought i made it up so here's the article. It's the "yet to be determined" portion at the bottom that amuses me.

My friend and i were eating lunch, he's a vegetarian and as i was starting to eat my steak he started in on me. You know that's bad for you, it's unhealthy, blah blah, you should eat only fruits and berries and become a vegetarian like me, it's healthier for you.

Stabbing my steak onto my fork i shook it in his face! Oh really? Healthier for you? You know this cow used to be a vegetarian and it don't look to healthy to me now, but it's mighty tasty. :lol

lol, PETA believes that milking a cow is cruel. Well, i guess they never took Agriculture in middle or high school, because the cows can get really sick if they are not milked every day.

Yup, I enjoy steak also..however, talking about longevity (we are aren't we?) you've no doubt been exposed to the following "happy as a Clam") well check the following link..they(clams) must be doing something right.  :devil  :rofl

Not that I'm pro PETA in any way but......a cow that has given birth, suckled it's young and then stopped naturally will be absolutely fine if not milked.

A cow that's given birth, suckled it's young and then milked by machine every day for years afterwards will get really sick if the milking does not continue.

Just for interested, did you take agriculture in school?

Funny, I never did. :)

Women can get the same sickness, well....I say women.....I refer to these weird types who think it's natural to continue breast feeding their children until little Johnny is old enough to be able to say "Mum, I'm hungry, get your tits out."

Imagine that will ya.  :P   Well, perhaps you have the time/inclination( I don't) to do some research and post some opposing "expertise" in this matter.    :devil   :D

But they do eat some meat. They havent eliminated it entirely from their diet..
Personally I think its the combination of diet, lifestyle and location that has more to do with their good health then any 1 thing.
They probably don't use any non organic fertilizer or use much n the way of man made chemicals either.
Not to mention there probably isn't much in the way of industr/y/ial pollution in that area as well. So they probably aren't as effected by the filth coming out of smokestacks.

These quotes say alot as well

The Abkhasians don't live near a university research center or pharmacy
Probably why there hasnt been any "reported" cases of cancer

Part of the reason they are able to live so long may have to deal with the hilly country they live in where they have to walk everywhere.
No cars=lower air pollution
Walking - No couch potatoes

But to say longevity is based purely on being vegan, or diet alone is hogwash.

Quote shamelessly stolen from another website.

Vegans never die, they just eventually begin to smell like prey and get eaten by carnivores who can't help themselves.

Umm, take your hypothesis/opinion to the author of the  link ( http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/cultural/oldworld/europe/abkhasians.html ] ..mebbe we can get a definitive correlation between longevity (or lack thereof) and a meat-free (or reduced) diet...not that I really care.  :D `cause ina few hrs I'm tossing a few slabs `o` beef on the grill.  :rofl

Naaa. Much better and more fun to take my hypothesis/opinion to the author of the post who put the link up there.

All Im saying is that diet alone isnt the proboble reason for longer life spans or the absence of "reported" diseases

Perhaps if you change your diet to that of the Clam on the following link, you'd live a really long life.  :P   :rofl   Hit the following link..
