Looks like sometime this week or next perhaps?
Lookin forward to it!
-
2 weeks :aok
-
I'm willing to bet I am the only player who was hoping it would take longer... :lol
-
after coral sea is over...... 3weeks
-
I'm willing to bet I am the only player who was hoping it would take longer... :lol
Nope...I'm hoping it takes longer, too
-
Good lord why?
-
When it's ready, it's ready. Nuff said.
-
Good lord why?
For me, because coding/design decisions made by HT will have a massive impact on my specific gameplay that I don't know yet how I will be able to adjust to. (No, I'm not speaking about LVT dry spawns :lol)
-
Good lord why?
For me because I don't want to fry my computer
-
I'm willing to bet I am the only player who was hoping it would take longer... :lol
Nope lol I am too. I uninstalled the beta 2 days after trying it, if the FR is as bad as it was before im gone.
-
I'm willing to bet I am the only player who was hoping it would take longer... :lol
nope, i'm in the same boat.
guess i'll see if i can get the settings low enough for me to see something other than a slideshow

You should have stayed longer. Several new versions, lot of improvements. Identifying & fixing problems like yours is the main reason there's a BETA at all.

Ya ive been reading some/ many of the frame rate threads in beta and seeing all the fixes being made I do have hope.

No doubt...some even say beta runs better than the current version.
BTW.....AH is not very hard on a computer compared to a lot of games. I am willing to bet most of the issues are from users with older hardware. Time to upgrade people....a video card capable of playing AH is way less than 100 bucks.
For me, because coding/design decisions made by HT will have a massive impact on my specific gameplay that I don't know yet how I will be able to adjust to.
Care to elaborate?
-
I put 180$ into a graphics card and it runs amazingly, even better than regular AH2
-
I paid 109 for a BFG 9800 GT....runs 50fps with every thing up and AA at 16X.
Dont tell the computer guys I am running it on a 300 watts PSU tho.
:rofl

FPS on ancient computers is usually better with people who have tried the beta in it's most recent incarnations, it should be the same in 2.14.
Good lord why?
I think Lusche is talking about how long it takes to reload after minimizing now.

minimizing game to windows you mean?

Caught.
<--- Waiting for the "Fried my computer" thread in the HW & SW Forums. :rofl
-

Minimizing the game to you desktop and then re-maximizing it, yeah. Takes a bit to reload still.
-
Yikes I do that all the time (actually rolling my jug on auto climb as we I type this.) :uhoh

:rofl
OMG!!!! Well we won't tell the "geeks" what your doing. But I get a very bad feeling your gonna regret it sooner than later. If I may, a 650 watt PSU isn't that expensive, and in the long run wiser. Unless of course you would prefer just to be able to read the boards only, from say, the public library. Wish you luck.
-
I'm surprised more people havent been in beta tweaking or at least running through the motions.
I guess late war orange is where all the cool people hang out :noid
Maybe its just me and the times i've been in there. But this WILL be released soon and everyone is going to be *face palm my FR's suck :cry.
With all eye candy off it seems smoother than the current version. I'm debating whether to fly with shadows on or off. They are still the biggest FR killer for me.
-
It usually isn't old hardware. My 5 year old computer runs it like a dream. Nine times out of ten it's what's running along with AH; iTunes, Java/QuickTime/Office/Adobe Updaters, Zune software, spyware and malware, Norton or McAfee (shudder), every background service known to man even though they don't even apply to the computer's function...
-
Today
-
hopes takes longer
-
Even in the beta I don't have a real issue with tabbing, I do it all the time to check IMs, change music(yes thats why I never hear anyone on mic), or whatever. It takes a bit longer, and you get some pretty weird stuff but who's tabbing in the middle of a fur-ball that they need to be alert within 3 seconds?
-
but who's tabbing in the middle of a fur-ball that they need to be alert within 3 seconds?
I am doing it all the time. That's actually one of the reasons I don't use any vox, too ;)

How about you buy yourself a new GFX card there Tex.

Waiting patiently... NOT :x

I was too unless they have really come a long way from the first time I tried it.
-
Ive been upgradeing my rig for 3 months now with all the goodies i put in this box and $ spent I have 3 words for that new version...... BRING IT ON!!!!!! :x :rock
-
I am hoping it takes longer too as my fram drops by over 50% no matter what I do, I will probably have to drop aces high when it comes out and I have been with them since they started
-
I thought that the new graphics were going to cause me to have to quit. I decided to do some shopping around for components for a new system. After finding out how much the prices have dropped I bought all the goodies for a new computer. It should run the game with fairly high settings. Bring on the eye candy! :rock
-
Well Skuzzy was just in the MA saying TT is going to be delayed. Hmmmmm.
I expected a Mon. or Tues. release of AH-3 so's they would have 3 or 4 work days to cook up a patch if needed.
Im guessing today or tomorrow. Its just an educated guess but I never remember Skuzz coming on-line like that, that early, to say TT is going to be delayed.
Im awfully pumped up for the new release. This game is just getting better and better. :salute

I’m hoping it takes longer too because if I can’t play then you can’t either, wha, wha, wha. That's what it sounds like to me.

I said Today. :aok
-
Bring it on...if my video card can't handle it...I'll buy a bigger one. :aok :rock
-
Like I said... I went there when first released.... the issue was not my comp but the software. If they have fixed it then there should be no problem.
-
Then there is no problem. I have a very nice setup, and the first couple of Beta patches has serious FR issues. Now, with everything maxxed plus self-shadowing, my FR stays between 55-60 with vsync forced to 60fps. Many people have reported better frame rates than the current production version, so my guess is HTC has done some major render-engine tuning as well as give more eye-candy.
Even with the options turned down for lesser computers, most people should enjoy better frames and some better graphic detail.
-
After 8 or 9 patches its come along way
-
Skuzzy just warned midwar about the arena being shutdown for a game update....
:pray

Well, this will be the first time that I've seen it... I hope its more than palm trees instead of pine trees...

All arenas now closed! :x
-
And you get the message to update if you try to log in!!!! :rock
-
Woot....downloading now.
Cant wait for the masses!

See? I was right.

I eagerly awaited flying a Brewster,I finally D/L the patch that would make it come true and now AH dosen't work at all.... lol anyone know why this patch dosen't seem to work on Vista?
-
Took me 3 minutes and I was in an arena flying the Brewster :rock
-
Eh, I've always been living with a FR of (on max res) 8-15. I can always just tone it down, I already did for the regular game, and I get a FR of 50 on a good day.
-

I've seen a few that had to uninstall then use the new installer to get theirs to work. Something about the update file and Vista (vista sucks anyway)...
-
The sky is falling.
Along with frame rates I'm betting :lol
-
:( I have waited all this time for this long needed update. Now that things are good and well for the players with mid to upper end machines, my time to leave Aces High has finally come. I love this game and want nothing more but to continue playing. That apparently cannot happen. I DL'ed the update to find even at the lowest settings, my machine is just too worthless to even leave the tower. Being un-employed in this great "Obama" economy has left me with no money for an upgrade to my machine. On the positive side, I get to keep my $15 a month maybe to save for future upgrades and maybe fly the virtual skies once again.
So until I get a job or can save enough, I say farewell AH, its been a blast these last 4 or 5 years.
SALUTE to all, :salute

Sooo...have to assume you know for sure that your system is so outdated that there is no way you can play the game with the update? I'm guessing you didn't participate in the beta testing either???
Try doing a dxdiag on your system and posting the hardware/driver information...as well as what video resolution you have Windows set to.
Someone might actually have a fix for you.
-
I find it very hard to believe that a system would run slower than before, with all options turned off, unless you have less then 64 meg video mem.
HiTech
-
RGR that gyrene, i'll try that.
Yes I did try the BETA, but, my FR was so low it was like a slide show and gave up thinking those kinks would get "ironed" out over time before release. Its not that my system is sooo out dated, its that my vid card is old with low RAM (128 mb), my power sup has too low of output for vid card updating (250 watt output) and I only have 512 MB system RAM. That all ran AH2 ver 2.13 Patch 1 just fine with decent FR around 30-75 fps. Its just a low-end system thats all.
Believe me when I say the update is un-playable on my end, the terrain looks like snow...ALL white, even the water. All other objects like the sky, hangers, planes, trees, runways and bldgs look fine. Even the ground around the field guns looks fine. Its just the ground and its features that are all white. I have turned everything down to the lowest settings and still no go. FR are anywhere from 0-25 fps. The graphics issues are in offline as well.
I'm pretty sure I know what the answers will be, but, I'll post the DXDiag anyways, just for S-n-G's. I just hate to have to give up this game due to the inability to upgrade my machine.
SALUTE

AWW HANG IT! You mean I've been sitting here for 220 minutes downloading it, with 76 minutes left, only to be told when its ready, I need to download a patch as well! I think I might cry! HT your evil! But hten I knew that anyway! :aok

RGR that HT, thanks. I did the world flags change and it worked until I tried to take off then back to snow again. Strange. I'll wait for the patch Sir.
TY :salute You guys are on the ball.
