Taking forever for skins/textures to load... all objects look white for quite awhile. Noticed FPS hit too... :(
-
I seem to have taken a frame hit as well. Patch 6 was excellent. Patch seven was a step back for me. Also, when I look for frame rate, this version tells me only 0.5mg used out of 256, b4 it was around 90-100 meg used. Another thing too, I am using triple buffering, and when i didnt the mem count was was it is now. Basically when i used triple buffer then it appeared to use memory. After patch now that im using it, its like it reverted to old ways of saying whats used.
Heres dxdiag

Suddenly my 9600GT shows only 1.8MB Vid mem used...
-
Ive lost the depth perception the older patch had given me back, and turning the detail range up makes the game stutter again like before...
The ground looks like dodo again in low res, and this was my primary complaint...I cant seem to tell how closss to the ground I am, I think, and alot of other people in MA think this was a step back instead of forward.
Please restore the ground so it gives some sense of depth, because its like flying over the ocean right now, and once again im grounded because I cant see to fight.
The patch before this one set up some wierd grid system, or dark areas that allowed me to tell how hi I was, but now im litteraly smashing into the ground again because it looks like a few trees dotted on a see of mauve ocean.
Its unplayable, please help.
And ive taken every step possible with my hardware guys, This is an issue with LOW RES
I prefer to fly in low res, as hi res is NO option, plz restore the ground to the last patches state....I was at-least able to see when I was approaching the ground..
I started paying again because low res was fixed, and now its broken again.
Plz fix it with all haste, as im sure you understand the low end PC users plite in all of this...thank you

Is this with or without bump mapping on?
I turned off high detail terrain & kept bump mapping on and didn't notice a difference from this setting last patch.
Note that last patch bump mapping defaulted on you needed to turn it off every time you logged in to turn it off. They fixed that this patch. So bump mapping (which shouldn't enduce much of a performance hit anyway) may be off by default when you first started up this patch.
I'll say that, I have had a general increase in performance as I can tell so far (haven't gone on line yet) with this patch, although snip
NVM, get white screen for 2-3 seconds and then the game pops up with all plane textures and some terrain textures loaded.
-
Now I have the stutters...no problems with patch 6 in any manner using hi res pack and 1024 textures...installed patch 7 and suddenly stuttering.
Changed resolution...changed textures...went all the way down to 256 textures and it still stutters...water, land, sky, doesn't matter. Turned ground detail down...turned off detailed terrain...turned object detail all the way left to detail...nothing stops the stuttering...video memory shows only 1.3MB used out of 512MB and after having used all 6 previous patches, I know that if my video card shows more than 110MB video memory used I have no issues at all.
All testing was in the mid war arena...with no one around.
This is my dxdiag with gamebooster on, anti-virus and automatic updates turned off:

Same here, water looks black and about half of all other terrain white, as are all other planes - and this is 5-10 minutes into flight. My frame rate was still in the 70s. If I turned detailed terrain off the terrain looked correct, but skins still didn't.
Never had this problem before d/ling the new patch tonight. Bump map terrain and object self shadow were off.

Suddenly my 9600GT shows only 1.8MB Vid mem used...
same here, Nvidia GeForce 8800GS, shows 1.5mb used
-
Observations for me on Patch 7:
1. Hit on Frame Rates, now seems more unstable (wider range) and much slower when close to bases and activity
2. Stuttering is much more pronounced, starts at about once every 20 seconds at take off and increases as speed increases
3. Terrain graphics load much more slowly during game play (I was about 15 minutes into a bomber run before the water graphics loaded)
4. Base maps do not load at all in my clipboard
5. Plane stats do not load at all in my clipboard
6. My VidMem usage has dropped dramatically, from 150mb avg of 512mb available to between 0 to 32 (varied on different loggings)
I did not change any of my settings from the previous version and the only way I could carry on was to change my Vis to short range.
Hope this helps - I did accept the option to allow my pc info and my dxdiag has been posted previously if needed.
