The 82nd really enjoyed ourselves escorting you, it's always a pleasure.
These screenies were on behalf of Jayhawk, one of our newest recruits. We had a good showing and a fun time at 20K over Rookland during Squad Night. <S> once again to the 82nd Fighter Group for assisting us. :)Looks like ya'll had a blast!

With that out of the way :D, I would just like to say we are on the lookout for more B17 Bomber nerds. Contact me here, or in-game Bishop vox 191 if you are interested. 18-and-older preferred.
I can't wait until Saturday, when we get to escort ya'll (since I missed last weekend due to work).
Bleh, gears just create more drag... Who needs em anyways? :P
91st BG is the premiere Bomb Group here in the cartoon world of Aces High! Great group of gents who know how to have a good time. If you love B17s, or escorting, swap over to Bishops on Saturday night for their traditional long range bomb runs! :aok
Happy Birthday, Chief! :salute
That was very fun destroying ur run.
What you may have percieved as " :huh destroying our run :huh", was in fact the conclusion of our monthy training night. We chose the dueling arena to better accomplish our session.LOL, guess he failed then, eh? :)

Hello Gents!
Was curious if I could tag along on a bomber run sometime. I've been playing aces high for a little bit and love to go on bombing runs. I can handle flying just fine and get bombs on target 98% of the time, but could use some education in the finer points of level bombing. Let me know what you think!
Call sign 88Heavy.
Thanks!
So there I was...
<S> 91st! Miss flying with you guys almost as much as I miss my kids!! I feel really dumb now as this is the first time I've seen the squadron section of the BBS  So anyway, here I sit in my CHU on Camp Victory slowly downloading the game and hoping this laptop consisting of ductape and bailing wire will handle it. Will be getting a better machine but not for a few weeks, so I may be reduced to flying the offline version 'til the new beast arrives. I'm probably quite rusty anyway so the practice will do me good.
Keep 'em flyin 'til I'm back in the skies gentlemen!
Nice and tight last night Gentlemen. A tough nut to crack.
<S>
Blacked out with gear down and bounced up into a church...
:rofl LMAO!! This invites so many smart-a-- comments! :lol :D Okay, I'll shut up now. :)

Had a great time flying with you guys. :airplane: Maybe next time we'll have some resistance. :aok
Figured the 91st guys, in particular the history buffs might be interested. Saw this on another board.
"I just heard the news today that Marion "Curly" Havelaar has passed away.
He was a B-17 pilot and bombardier in the 401st BS, 91st BG - 8th AF
Flew B-29's in Korea and (i think ) he flew F-101's in Vietnam.
Author of book "The Ragged Irregulars: The 91st Bomb Group in World War II"
He was the long time owner of the prototype WACO QCF-2 N11241
And a VFM member "
Havalaar's book on the 91st is a must have for anyone interested in the 91st.

Big <<SALUTE>> to the Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group for teaming up with us.
im sorry that i could not show for the flight. i will be there next saturday with swede and company. <S>
Looking forward to it. <S> once again, 582nd. :)<S> 91st :aok great bunch of people here
Hey !!!!!
The nine -o-nine(or an aircraft painted to look like the nine-0-nine,not sure which) is still flying.Or at least it was the last time I saw it at an airshow in Manchester N.H. Err..umm...then again, that was 20 years ago.
im looking into changing the 582nd into a 91st escort group. ill keep you guys informed
Make sure there isn't a P38 diving on you next time.
Don't send a 51 pilot to do a P38 pilots job. :)
This photo was taken from a B-17 crew member, a friend of Jake's. The 'single' contrails in the center of the photo are enemy fighters attacking the B-17 formation. The 'double contrails' belong to P-38s from the 82nd FG, engaging the enemy planes.
Fun run 91st! Sorry only a few sticks, hopefully we can get more next time. I bagged 2, a 190 and a 109. Good, fun run all around! :aok I'll post screenies when I get a chance.
The Ragged Irregulars welcome Caveman to the bomb group. <S>
91st BG... So easy a Caveman can do it!!!!!!
:D
Congrats Caveman for joining the best bombing squad around! :aok
so why troll here?
91st would love to have you aboard, im sure :aok
Thunder......I have a print by Williams (if I remember correctly) of "Pistol Packin Momma" rtb over the channel with some battle damage and #4 feathered. Two razorback Jugs pickup Momma to bring her home safe. The name of the print is
"When Prayers are answered". Momma and her crew were happy to have those two razorbacks bring her home. Google it....it's probbly the most beautiful print
that I own....and I have a few.
It just occured to me that our newest member, Caveman already fits right in by his looks alone. :D

Edit:
One thing that this group does better than any other group in the game is solicit the support of other squadrons to fly escort for us. It is simply astounding the level of assistence we get from other groups willing to block out time in their schedules and provide some of the finest escort flying I have ever seen.
Always a pleasure attacking those missions.:D i myself personally saw your loss in that attack :aok what happened? mistiming the approach? or lag?
Targeting the lead usually results in a scrabbled egg, and death of my 262.
Solar10
:D i myself personally saw your loss in that attack :aok what happened? mistiming the approach? or lag?
50cals :t:rofl
I do believe Solar crashed into one of my B17's as well. That was a fun night indeed. :)
I WANT THE 100TH BG BACK NOW :furious
In game clip maps for fields posted to the squad site/forum...Nice, lots of squads have their own little bombing maps. This is the best one I've seen yet for the large airfield.
256 Color Depth, 8 bit, 512 x 512...
Copy and paste these to your AH maps directory...do not change the file names...simply over write the existing files...
It was mentioned this evening by some that custom clips were not seamlessly and durably incorporated to the game...
This is how it works: each arena/terrain has its own custom index for clip maps...by retaining the default file names such as lfield.bmp...that granularity is over ridden and you will always have your 91'st clip maps if/when you retain the default file names...by leveraging the inherent "default.lst" file ...
I will work on the Port and VBase tomorrow...
Posted in and at 91'st operations and planning forum...

Man, I'm getting way behind here...
The Ragged Irregulars welcomes Hadgee, Galileo, Someguy, and Warborn to the bomb group. Glad to have ya' here. <SALUTE> :)
Congrats all for making it into AH's premier (sp? oh well...) bomber squad! :salute
You know what really bugs me. When guys fly 75-100 miles just to try and catch a couple bombers while they try to land. Luckily I got an opportunity to do something about it.
An Me-262 comes into the 91st as they were trying to land. He picked off two bombers and claimed his third from ttflier, luckily ttflier managed to inflict some major damage to him, he retreated north leaking fuel and oil. I quickly nixed my 51 and lifted from a more Northern field in my own 262. I flew directly to where I hoped he was going. Arriving at the field, I see a small dot with a black smoke trailing from it on it's short final to land.
I nosed down, with no regard for my own plane, I wasn't going to let this guy land his kills. Here I spray a burst as his plane screeches to a halt.
I connect! His speed reads 0 mph at this point, I didn't have a second to spare.
Boom!
My 600mph+ plane didn't quite survive the meeting with the runway, but it was absolutely worth the loss. <S>
Thanks! We're starting to get full on our roster.whats is max on the roster
Welcome Dutch214 to the 91st!

There are 9 slots in the 91'st Group available for each frame.
This will be an epic event stretching over 7 weeks, immersing the participant in the 8'th Air Force's incredible battles over Germany.
Unlike past events, frames will start in the evenings this time…and will start every Saturday for seven weeks
at the same time the 91'st normally holds its Squad night !!!.
You heard that right gentlemen; this will be an opportunity this squad will not have any time soon, or ever again. Imagine that...a scenario that has our virtual squadron in it occurring over 7 weeks at our normal squad time !!!
Even though their are only 9 slots for the 91'st, there are a total of 54 bomber slots; 4x9 B-17 and 2x9 B-24; and formations are enabled (pretty positive about this).
I truly hope the 91'st seizes this opportunity to expand into the Special Events Scenarios.
B-17's are rare in Scenarios…and even rarer are the late war battles over Berlin…its been 3 years since the 91'st was represented in an event.
REGISTRATION IS NOT YET OPEN..
When it is, lets be ready and fill up the 1'st Bombardment Division: BOTH the 91'st and 303'rd slots (18 pilots). There is no virtual 303'rd BG in AH...so we wont be stepping on toes.
With both units secured, this will give us tremendous leverage in executing our missions: staffed with 91'st pilots, we will fly together, bomb together, and live together.
The 91'st is an amazing group of guys; lets show the event community what we are made of.
Salute

When you see a tight as hell, B-17 formation, likely the 91st. Most of the time you get one pass on them, make it count!

I can gladly say it was not one of the hottest nights for us, you guys did a great job escorting. <S>!thank you bud :aok we try our hardest for our bigger brothers <S>
91st is currently a Rook squad with squad nights scheduled for Saturday nights at 8PM Central. However, this saturday we will be training for the upcoming scenario. You can probably find us in large numbers on Friday night especially. Just look for a big dar deep in enemy territory!LEEEEEERRRRROOOOYYYYYYYYY JJJJEEEEEENNNNKKKKIIIINNNSSSS SSS!!!!!! :rofl
Or get on now, we've got a big one going. lol
Hope you enjoy your stay as rook. Looking forward to doing some bomb runs with you.
Crap...I may have to have my easter "Egg" hunt early this year.
91'st keeps demonstrating nightly why they are a great BG (H)...
Just tonight on the fly...we pulled our guys together and flew a great structured bomber mission..tight formations...no escort....no pork targets..high risk-threat environment...tight team work and gunning...
Typical off night experience with the best bombers in the game...
We all landed home safely...met the threat...and antagonized and killed the enemy...
Salute 91

edit: Great lead on the mission Hawkerii
Guys, I apologize for not being around in-game much, especially with regard to the scenario coming up in a few days.
First off, I've got a nasty head-cold that has forced me to take time off work. (Yaaayyyyy winter!!!)
Second, my ability to spend time in Aces High may be uncertain due to an opportunity offered to me to play keyboard for a band. I've been busy supplimenting compositions for them, and weekends may be taken up with that endeavour.
I do not know as of yet if this will compromise my time devoted to commanding the 1st Bomb Division. I would recommend Oneway bear that in mind with the back-up folks we have on board. I will do my best to inform you of any developments before the scenario starts.
WELCOME HOME BQ.....Our squad member BQ (and his wife) is on his way home from a 1 year tour in Iraq :salute
Ooookay... now that my first-ever gig is done and British-born guitarist Robin Trower is on his way, I shall get back in the game at least until the next musical venture presents itself. :rock :banana:OMG <S> welcome back EGG :rock :rock :rock
I'm a few updates behind, and my fellow bomb group members will probably have to work extra hard to save my butt from being shot down.
I'll be on this weekend.
 <SALUTE>
bump :D
it's been a while since i've been in-game and flown with you guys, how's the squad holding up?
Finally gonna make it for squad night Saturday. Time to make these Wright-Cyclone radials rumble & the bombs scream.
<S> to everyone. The 20th FG has decided in full to go on a country tour. Beginning the first monday in may, the 20th will be switching to rook and then knight. This is not going to change our squad night escorts for bishops. As everyone should know, the 20th has never been dedicated to a country but to certain squadrons. To change it up a little we decided to do this. This does not have anything to do with any bishop squadrons as all of you are fun to fly with <S> after May (or June) there's 95% chance that we will be Bishop again :aok
Good to see you all still at it! Since I separated from the the military and moved to Louisiana I haven't had the opportunity to play AH, I doubt my connection would allow for it anyway (satellite internet). Hopefully I will find civilization again and a connection that is semi reliable and of course the time needed to play this game again.. till then <salute>
Cheers,
Ciaphas
Saturday 5-28 Squad Night:the 20th has been really bored lately since you guys and the dickweeds havent been flying many sorties... get ur butt back here! :furious :lol
I'll make it on that night, SO, LOOK OUT!!!!"scrreeeeaaaachh!!- crash-bang-BOOM!!"..
...some of Mel Blanc's put-putter-pop noises in there somewhere.
Wrapping up another rockin' gig by then. <SALUTE>

I know, I know... too many irons in the fire. :uhoh
You guys still looking for pilots? Would be interested in flying a few missions with ya's as I am thinking of moving on. I fly with Duxford RAF and have been for 2 years but I feel it's time to start looking for something different....
THE THUDREGG IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great to see you back Thndregg
Really looking forward to escorting you gents on some of your runs, some of the best times ive had in game was escorting the 91st when i was with the 82nd FG Adorimini
