I propose an idea. Let's be honest here, how many of you actually enjoy the C.202, or fly it more than twice a month with real success? Yeah, did not think so, therefore, I propose that we swap out the C.202 for the Romanian IAR-80. The IAR.81C was a Romanian fighter developed from 1943-1944, and spawned some of Romania's highest aces (some scoring into the 50's and 60's). The fighter was relatively light; only about 4,900 lbs, and carried 6 x 7.7mms, each housing 500 rounds. A show stopper? No, but neither is the Spit 5, yet people still enjoy it. IN addition to this, it could reach speeds of 342 mph, and was quite maneuverable and turned out to be a stable dogfighting platform. just a thought.

We wouldn't swap it out.

What's the point of removing a plane?

Ditto.
-
Yeah, why switch it? Can't we just keep the C. 202 and get the IAR-80 and 81C? Do you hate the Italians that much as to deprive them of one of their only home built birds in Aces High? Think about poor Gianlupo!
-
It looks like a stretched 190 :headscratch:
-
+1 for the plane, but keep the C202.
-
the 202 is a hot rod I love it please dont take it away.
-
I don't fly the C202 and to be honest don't really like it, but it's good for FSOs and special events of that type. Therefor there is no point of removing it or any other plane.
But either way +1 on the IAR-80
-
Why would we take out the 202? Because some people can't fly it. I know lots of people who fly it more than 2 times a month with success. I agree to the plane but trying to get it in by taking the 202 out makes no sense. If we could do that why not take the B5N out? and put in one of the KI's we dont have? huh does that sound better? No way! Add the plane. Keep the plane.
-
You take my 202 away I might just have to hunt you down via your IP address and murderize you!
:furious :furious :furious
P.S. If ya don't like the 202, you're definitely not going to like the Iar! Rather similar, the two.
-
I'd love to see the 2 × 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon and 4 × 7.92 mm FN machine gun - armed IAR.81C. Didn't the 80 only have 4 mg's for armament? .30 cals I believe...
*edit* oooh, now this is a nice plane to add for MA action: Two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns in upper cowling (350rpg); one 20 mm MG 151 cannon firing through propeller hub (150rpg); two 20 mm MG 151 cannon in wings (200rpg)

Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario. Considered by many to be "the most beautiful plane of the Second World War".... Although I do like the G.55 as well. Interesting that Germany wouldn't allow the Italians to put the G.56 into production; too much better than the Nazi aircraft?

What's the point of removing a plane?
Ask HTC.
-
Nope. Add what you like, but don't take my C.202. I do run a few sorties each tour when the mood strikes me. She is a fun bird! :aok
-
I often duel people in c202s, it's an awesome plane for testing who flies better rather that just who shoots first.

I love the C.202, and it's a great dueling plane (as mechanic noted)

Why?

The 202 is a great plane. Underestimated by many...understood by few. Keep her.
-
The 202 is one of my favorites, but not because it's "great" or anything....
It's out-flown by almost all planes in the LWAs, and only has a small speed advantage against planes from its time frame (yet they out turn it in most cases).
However, it's one of those planes that has a bit of an aura, or a mystique, about it. Sort of like the P-40E, and the Hurricane1. Fun for a challenging sortie now and then.
-
The Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario. Was a good flying aircraft, but it was a mechanics nightmare. The engine was relaible but, the Prop like the Bf 109 was unreliable. It was first flown with a Daimler Benz DB 605 that was later produced under license by Fiat. But only 48 were delivered before the armistice was signed. There is documentation that a few of the last planes did fight in the final days over Berlin.

Instead of the 202, let's get rid of the P-51D and Spit XVI. :aok

Lol, amen to that. Sorry about this, once more my friend has managed to find my password :furious and puts the stupidest things on the wishlist and keeps sending SPAM to my friends. I honestly do not favor the C.202, or like it, but what be the point of removing it? If HTC thought it unnecessary, then why add it in the first place? As for the IAR.81C, I'd love to see it added. Again, my apologies, my password's been changed to something he will NEVER get :neener:

Your friend seems to have a very indepth knowledge of the game and it's features. Is that the best you can come up with?
Seriously? :huh

He plays the game whenever he's over my house, so yeah he kinda does have a general idea of the game. "Identical use of punctuation and capitalisation"? Capitalisation and punctuation are universal.
-
well, if you're sure I'll take your word for it. I dont even know whats to be ashamed of, this wish was far more constructive and worthwhile than most :)
Tell your friend he has excelent taste and I agree with him, the IAR80 should be added.
-
But tell him Krusty will defend his Macchi to the death!!!
No touchy!
No touchy the Macchi!

Is he one of those LW uber ride people? Or one of those who have the strange disease of not loving each and every flying machine* for what it is.
*Except for helicopters. Those things are flying deathtraps. I mean, how are you going to glide to a gentle touchdown in a conveniently placed corn field when your engine dies?

The second one for the most part.
