How come we can't have a smiley for a facepalm? And it's Pogues not Poguees. Poguees makes us siund like a bad Saturday morning cartoon. SlapShot, he's proud of the fact he Rooks forced 3 map changes inside 24 hours, let the boy have his fun.

Actually it is about as many as you get on one decent run.

I found if your worrying about perks... your not doing something right.

Seems to me that if you 'won' the first war, the war is over.  But you mention two more wars.  This would suggest the war is ongoing, which means you didn't win anything.

Can you explain this discrepancy?

Wow, just wow. What a bunch of sour grapes. So he's happy that the Rooks won 3 in a row, that seems to be something he is enjoying. Yet quite a few of you "mature" folks come in and show your mean spirit and petty, infantile attitudes. It's a shame nothing will happen to these people. Typical internet crap.

I for one am glad GrnEagle has found something to be excited about instead of coming here and spewing his dissatisfaction about everything.

Sadly as his squaddies, you accept this repeated behavior.   That is why " Little Kids" should not be allowed to play this game.   Obviously his "adult" squaddies don't believe in policing the "little kids".   You must let your kids play with matches and knives.

Brad, as for your last sentence, you negated your entire stance.

He's actually new to the squad so I have no idea what this repeated behavior you are talking about. If you are referring to past posts then I have no clue there either since I don't pay much attention to what is posted here. When he's flying with the squad I give him lots of latitude because of his age. Also, when did it become our duty to police the squeakers in our squad? Hell, I barely have time to play the game much less checking on the kids.

Now when it comes to Stealth then flame on. He's old enough to know better.

As for the squeaker gettin flamed, I don't think she had anything to do with it. I don't care if you're 15 or 50. You come to these forums and post a thread about winning the "war" you're gonna get flamed. Has nothing to do with who posted and how old they are.

But you have to admit, this particular thread had epic fail written all over it.

GrnEglJr, First of all, you're 15, you're a kid. When you raise your right hand to swear an oath to defend this country, or when you graduate college, then I'll call you a man. Oh, and get rid of the picture, you're just asking for it.

Masher, this post started off innocent. He was happy to see the resets. He was congratulating the Rooks and saying way to go. There was no reason for the insults or sarcasm. If there was no response this thread would have withered and died, and that would have been the end of it. That's why I said let him have his fun. It would have been over and done with. Second of all, I am not this kid's daddy. You want to attack somebody about accepting this behavior, you go talk to him. Since he's he's a Junior, I'm assuming there's a senior, let him deal with it. Lastly, about you're comment concerning matches and knives. WHO IN THE **** DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? You're going to cast a shadow on my ability to be a father? Let me tell you something, I learned from the best. A man who came from backwoods Michigan, stood up to an abusive father with a baseball bat in his hand. Served 20 years in the United States Air Force. Taught himself everything about computers and now owns a consulting firm, earning 205 dollars an hour on contract with the government. He earned that. Never once was I allowed to "play with matches and knives". I was always pushed to learn. I was reading Shakespeare's MacBeth in the 3rd grade. And the reason I did that was because he was and I wanted to be just like him. I pray to God that I'm half the father he was. My wife and I have been trying to have kids and we just suffered a miscarriage recently. You're comment is not appreciated, nor tolerated.

Some advice: You need to keep some of your oppinions to yourself. When you post any kind of "IN YOUR FACE" remark in here, 200 or via PM, your not gonna like the outcome. I can see your enthusiasm, but being humble is always the best way to go cuz what your gonna learn in here is you kick arse one day and the next day you get yours kicked.
Your a good kid from what Ive experienced when you joined us on our squad vox, but you really gotta learn to be patient. Play the game, have fun, shoot red guys and help some green guys and things will fall into place.
As for some of you guys that posted remarks in here..your pathetic and classless :aok

You will only consider yourself mature when others consider you to be mature through actions and choices you make. It is not something you can simply just title yourself as and call it good enough. You earn it through actions and choices you make, and having a little "humble pie" when you screw up.

1959 Corvette on my 16th birthday in 1972.  My dad paid 1400.00 for it and it was perfect.  I had it smashed up within 3 months.  Small town bodyshop I swept floors, sanded cars, cleaned the bathroom, got lunch and coffee for everyone, and learned to fiberglass with the spare time.  Had it rebuilt in 3 months and the shop owner walked me through the painting process so I got to paint it myself.  Great experience, brings back memories.  Dad then promptly sold it and replaced it with a 911 Porsche.  Never wrecked it either.  Best thing about the Porsche, Ann Mcmann, the redhead with the big knockers loved to "park" in it with me.

{snip} but why does eveyone have to be mean about every thing i post god

For myself, I apologize if you took what I said as "mean" - it wasn't meant that way.

The reason that many people have reacted to this post as they have is that for many of us, the "war" simply provides a context for what the game is actually about to us - which is competing with other players in the role(s) that the aircraft we grew up admiring in real life performed.

The "war" itself is relatively unimportant to many of us, and the desire to "win the war" (at all costs) brings what many players feel are some significant downsides that distract from, detract from, and obstruct in many ways the portions of the game that we actually are here to participate in.

Make sense?

AH was my 15th birthday present.  I was still able to work three jobs AND stay in the top 3 of my class!
One problem is when people are playing, teasing, and joking, on-line, it is without facial expression, voice, or body language. This makes it difficult, especially for a younger person, to understand it's just horsing around. Remember how cruel teenagers can be at school? For most of us that's been a long time. I would say to banshee, that this is the somewhat normal banter that adult men get into quite often, but mostly intended in good humor and friendly needling. Just picture these guiys with a friendly grin on their faces and you'll be less offended and understand a bit more what is, usually, intended. Yup! There are some truly Rude folks out there, but you'll figure them out pretty quick & learn to ignore them like we do. It often comes from a fragile ego, and bashing someone else makes them feel bigger. Have fun Kiddo! Keep a positive attitude!

Well MOST of us are older, and have been IN an industry of some kind where we get harassed on a regular basis.  The old farts understand this, the young guys don't, their feeling are tender, and they don't understand why we pick on them.  It is because they post things that are not the smartest things in the world.  For instance, " what is this, I would do the research, but I will just let you guys do it".  When they post things like that what do they expect.  Once they post something like that it hurts their reputations and makes the older folks put a target on the younger persons back, with a "Kick ME" right under it.  I have posted stupid thing before, and gotten flamed.  If you do, get ready to be flamed, and take it like a man, say OPPS and apologize.  Like the man with the bald head said,"life is hard, get a bit guard, and a helmet".  All the folks jumping to his defense, look at some of the OP's other posts.  He has put his own target on his own back, he has apologized, and said that he was going to change his ways.  It takes time to prove it, until he does he will have to be VERY selective about what he posts, and ask himself how can I get flamed over this?  Once you post a few things that are not the smartest, or you post things just to get your numbers up, or to insult other members you can expect to get flamed.   All that said, by the time I was 15 I had a 1943 J-3 Cub.  My dad gave me the option, a car or a plane, I took the plane not realizing that it was easier to get a girl to go parking with you than it was to get them to go flying with you.  SO yea I am an :old:

INteresting hijack, but ill add to it  :D  got my first truck at 12 in 1972 (with dads help) it was a 47 Ford PU 265 flathead V8, bought it from the local cemetery for 250.00 only had little under 3,000 miles sense i was only 12 and couldn't drive it legally yet so i figured i had 4 years to redo the truck, i found some old offenhauser aluminum heads and a offenhauser tri power with 3 strombergs on it, installed it the truck ran like a demon, then i went with the classic black tuck&roll interior, cragers on M50's on the back and 60's on the front , dropped it 3 inches (that's where dad came in), He had at that time a 50 merc with what he called a cigarette pack ride height Frenched headlights and taillights. i wish i would of kept all my cars when i grew up, but back then we had no clue as to what there worth today and they were cheap and all over the place to buy, cars i had  47 ford, 65 nova ss , 66 chevelle, 63 impala ss 409 4 spd, 69 Camero Z28 302 motor, 69 and 70 roadrunner, 53 Willy's wagon with a 283, 56 Chev 2Dr post, been a few others, but now i can kick myself in the Arse for getting rid them.

69 Camero Z28 302 motor

I had a 68 Camaro with 327. I always liked the small blocks. That 302 (327 with a 283 crank) was really popular for the dirt trackers. I almost snagged one that was setup for a dirt tracker with pink rods and all. Missed it by 2 days.

My second car was a 67 mustang with 289.

I raised two wild Angus range calves, grained them, beefed them up, took them to the sale and wanted a 69 Mustang, candy apple green. My dad took me & my money to a little old lady's house & bought her 1966 Chevy Biscayne. It was near cherry except the paint job. I had never been garaged & was all oxydated. It had 43,000 miles and was babied mechanically. My dad was pretty smart, 'cause I would have crashed that Mustang. It was HOT! Plus I had money left for tires insurance & sound. The good ol' days.  :old:

Got my first car from my grandparents, they actually offered it to me a few months earlier but at first I turned them down, it was an 83 Ford Fairmont and at the time I was driving my fathers 93 Grand AM, but I got tired of having no car until after he got home from work, or having to bring it home at night, so I broke down and accepted the car from my grandparents, the car was a beast, it only had an AM radio in it, eventually I got it painted all black(it was maroon to start) and put in a CD player which was unbelievable difficult, took 7 hours, but it was my car and even though it wasn't the greatest car in the world it was my own, and it had a very roomy back seat if you know what I mean ;).

Slapshot, they sent you to Fiji?! Man do I feel ripped off. They sent me to friggin Cleveland..

I remember when I first started playing, I was a bish which was the default country back then. And was talking to a family member (the guy that turned me on to AH) and we were discussing countries he mentioned he was a knight to which I replied "im not good enough to be a knight yet." Haha, he didnt say anything at the time but man did I feel like a fool once I figured out skill doesnt determine your country. :)
